She is friendly and caring and since she's a physical therapist in addition to being a masseuse she provides assisted stretching as part of her massages. The atmosphere at her office is calm and pleasant. I started going to her because I had back pain and a sciatica problem. I saw Lupe for a massage focusing on my upper body. I have a lot of tension in my upper back, shoulders, and neck. Lupe was able to work out the tension and used techniques to stretch the muscles. Afterward she recommended that I have further work on my fascia and gave me sheets with several stretches to do to help with the tension. I just visited Day Dream Therapy's new location and it is beautiful! It is in the Rose Garden area of San Jose and the facility is so lovely. Lupe gave me an amazing massage. I'm pretty particular when it comes to massage as I've been getting massage for 20 years and have had a little massage training myself. However, my experience with the staff at Day Dream Therapy is that they are very knowledgable, much more than anywhere else I've gone. I've been getting prenatal massages with her and she's not afraid to apply some pressure and get at trouble spots. You need to go to Day Dream Therapy for prenatal massage! I went there this afternoon and it was AMAZING! First of all, it smells amazing inside and I felt very welcomed and comfortable. They do not rush you at all, it's very relaxing. My massage was with Lupe! She is very kind and knows a lot about pregnancy aches and pains and is a great communicator. I loved their special pregnancy pillow-it took some getting used to at first, but after a few minutes I became so relaxed and incredibly comfortable!!!! I was so relaxed and felt great when the 60 minutes was over! Afterward she was able to pinpoint my problem areas and also gave me some tips on how to prevent aches/pains in the future, which I really appreciate. Wow! What a wonderful experience! Lupe is the best massage therapist I have ever been too. I have been to several in town but none have been so attentive to my needs. From the moment I walked in the door, Lupe greeted me with a huge smile and friendliness, I almost felt as if I had known her for years. She was already reviewing my needs and thinking of the best approach. After a brief discussion (which was quite relaxing in its self) she lead me to the massage room. She was very professional from start to finish. She mixed in stretching with some awesome deep tissue massage. She talked to me during the massage giving instructions, and describing what she was doing and how and where it would help me. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I have been working in San Jose from out of town for the past 8 weeks. 4 weeks ago, my chronic back pain flared up something fierce. I tried several massage therapist and finally decided on Lupe. She has a caring attitude. I can see a long term arrangement with her for regular maintenance massages. She has a nice touch and doesn't hurt you like some massage therapist. She is always asking how it feels and she works with you. She not only offers massage, but also stretching. She also has lots of useful information. I still have some pain, but I didn't expect it to go away that soon as it was caused by a tramatic event. Still love this place. Every time I travel, I try out massages in other locales but still love Lupe the best. I normally get massaged by Lupe - who is always incredibly strong, intuitive, and attentive. But my last massage was with Cynthia Barragan, and she was also incredible. I've gone for a few massages now and am very happy with Lupe. I have multiple congenital deformities of my spine, and am very active taking care of my hyperactive child, which makes for huge, rock hard knots in my shoulders, neck pain and headaches. I've been reluctant to go for a professional massage because my prior experiences were expensive and not effective in getting out the knots. But the pain got so bad that even maximum doses of naproxen and weekly chiropractic visits were not enough, so I had to do something. Lupe and her staff were able to make a significant different in my back/neck pain. She is down-to-earth and very helpful and nice. I was very happy with a couple tips she gave me, using a $4. band to keep a good posture and a theracane for helping work out the knots by myself. She shared her secrets with me, which took her lots of experimentation ($$) to discover, because it would help me, even though it would mean less business for her. She also gave me other very useful and easy tips about how to stretch/strengthen the problematic muscles to help myself heal faster. Besides the excellent reviews on yelp, the other thing that attracted me to this place was that they are more affordable than the other places, because they offer a 35-40 minute massage, whereas, the other places sell an hour minimum. I am totally thrilled to have found Day Dream! I 've been dealing with some pretty severe tendonitis in my shoulder and was looking for a place that would specifically work on my area of pain. Most massage therapists I've been to lately want to do a whole body massage and not focus on a specific area, even when requested. I found Daydream in a Yelp search and found out that they do injury and rehab therapy (among other massage modalities), and I decided to give them a try. I am soooo glad I did! My appointment was with Jennifer, who was super nice, extremely knowledgeable, and spoke with me for about 10 minutes before the massage to get an idea of my history and my needs. Her massage was, without a doubt, one of the best massages I have ever had in my life, and I have been to A LOT of massage therapists. Afterward she showed me some stretches and gave me some really good feedback about my shoulder. Dealing with chronic pain is no fun, and I left there feeling so much better, physically and mentally. So the good news first. It was awesome. Hands down. My massage session with Lupe was one of the most relaxing ones I have ever had. I came in yesterday grumpy, tired and sore because my neck and back were killing me. She took care of me the minute I walked in, prompt and courteous. Perfect. Everything after that was flawless and smooth. I walked out after the session feeling light and relaxed. The bad news. She may have ruined me for life. I think she spoiled me a bit too much and I dont think ill ever be the same going to another massage therapist. I think i'm going to be one of those divas demanding all these things, giving the massage therapists headaches, and making them roll their eyes from the TLC i have been given from Lupe. From the minute i walked in, she took care of the paperwork as painless and quick as possible, asking all of the questions and quickly jotting down all of my complaints and concerns. I hate paperwork. A lot. There is nothing worse than filling out a bunch of paperwork when you feel completely miserable. After that, the massage session began and I will have to say that she is very professional and considerate. She made sure that i was comfortable the entire time and she told me things about my body that i either didnt know about, or was surprised that she could tell. But of all the great things she did and taught me about my body, there was one that really made me happy. She wiped the oil off of my body after she was done with the area she was working on. Let me tell you, going home after a massage session all greasy really irks me as i always feel like i need to shower after, and i cant go anywhere after as i feel so incredibly gross and slimey(especially on warm days!). Lupe is very detailed and attentive in her work, and she cares about her clients enough for her to take the time to make sure they are comfortable even after the session is over. I was fortunate three years ago to be given the opportunity of shadowing Jennifer Sylvester. She worked part-time at a care center, where I had an internship as a personal trainer, while also working at Day Dream Therapy. What a wonderful learning experience I had in shadowing Jennifer. I remember being so impressed with her knowledge of human anatomy, muscle origin, and the insertion points of muscles. At the time, she worked as a therapist helping those recovering from injuries or those who suffered from chronic conditions, a massage therapist, and even had a few personal training clients! Patients raved about Jennifer, and I knew I had to book a massage with her. Well, she is simply exceptional at her profession - she addresses so well the muscles affected by my scoliosis. There are times when the myofascial work can be quite intense, and Jen, without saying a word, starts breathing very deeply. This serves as a guide, a reminder, for me to breathe deeply, too. When she is working my neck and shoulders, and the deep breathing is only helping so much, she'll start scratching my head and hair. The deep breathing and distraction of the head scratching really gets me through those moments where Jennifer is trying to relax contracted muscles while improving blood and lymphatic circulation. Jennifer briefly moved away from San Jose in 2014 and I tried another massage therapist that a client of mine had recommended. Although quite knowledgeable, and with years of experience, her method and approach to massaging the body was different. I truly missed Jen's skillful hands. To say I was thrilled when Jennifer moved back to San Jose would be an understatement. I went to go see her recently and had a fantastic all-body massage with a bit of extra attention to that area of my back affected by the scoliosis. The combination of going to see a chiropractor who specializes in adult scoliosis and Jennifer who does amazing myofascial release - and the home care that both my chiropractor and Jennifer recommend - has resulted in an improvement in my scoliosis. The X-rays of my back tell the story, the degree of my curve has decreased over the past 18 months. I firmly believe that Jennifer plays an important role in the health of my back - thank you so much, Jen! read more

I booked myself for a 40-min Mommy Massage with Chontelle, and was super excited for it, since I had been having a lot of upper back pain in the recent weeks. This was my first pregnancy massage, and it definitely did not disappoint! Chontelle was SO GREAT from start to finish. I loved the special pregnancy pillow-- surprisingly very comfortable! The massage itself was amazing. Chontelle has the magic touch. I have never felt so relaxed during a massage-- I usually tense up because things don't feel right or the pressure is just off-- but Chontelle knows exactly where/how to smooth everything out, flawlessly.
