I hardly ever write reviews, but my last few experiences with Day Nails & Spa have been very impressive. This is my favorite, go-to nail salon primarily because of the staff. Tina is so welcoming, personable, and genuine with her customers. I had an odd experience with her salon today, but she made every effort to make me feel better. Two ladies said they had appointments but didn't and therefore took my friend and my spot, making us wait an extra 30-40 minutes. On top of that, 2 of the staff had called in sick. Considering there wasn't really much Tina could do about what had happened (when I got there, the other ladies already had their feet soaking), I was still going to get a pedicure and wait for my manicure another time because I had to get to work. She graciously offered both our manicures for free, and was very sorry the entire time. She knew I couldn't get the gel manicure today due to lack of time, and said I could come in tomorrow to get it done for free. I thought the way she handled the situation was quite disorganized, but she made up for it the best way she could. I personally don't hold it against her at all. Keep in mind, I don't look Vietnamese at all, and most salons I go to don't know that I can understand them when they talk, so it's very easy for me to reject the salon immediately by the way they talk about customers who don't understand them. Not once have I been to a salon that didn't display this kind of behavior until Day Nails. I've been here three times so far, and have had no trouble getting a seat nor have I heard them talk badly about their customers at all. I really appreciate this fact because I work in healthcare and want to get my services from people who genuinely care about people. I do have a few points to speak about: 1. The vietnamese coffee is one of the reasons I keep coming back because it's my favorite kind of coffee, and makes my experience more enjoyable. 2. She has three locations, two of which are right next door to each other on 35th and Roxbury, so make sure you and your friends know which one to meet at. 3. Parking can be difficult on the street during peak times, and requires parallel parking if not in the lot that houses the newer store. 4. If you pay in cash, you get three stamps for your stamp card toward $10 off a service, whereas if you pay in card you only get one stamp. I will continue going to Day Nails because of Tina and the staff (and the coffee), and everyone that I've referred here has come back at least once. Even if they don't do the newest, fanciest nail designs, the proudly serving staff are more than enough for me to call them my favorite! read more

With my second kid getting ready to make his arrival any day I needed to make sure I got my nails done. So early this morning I made my way to Day Nails and got the job done but sadly I had to take my toddler. Still these women were so nice and didn't mind my child as much as I thought. I still probably won't take him back to the nail salon with me but I was so happy with how they were still able to help me and didn't act totally annoyed. I don't think I could bring myself to go to an other salon. And they also did an awesome job on my nails!! read more

I had 2 visits. It's close to home and I REALLY wanted it to be my new nail salon. I only get my feet done a few times a year in the summer so I'm not an expert or regular. That said, my second visit was painful, expensive and completely unprofessional. I will never return. First visit was just Meh. Second visit was with Cathy/Thuy. I couldn't figure out why or how it was hurting until I realized she wasn't wearing gloves and her own razor sharp nails kept poking me. Not a word of English so impossible to communicate. I always get a flower on the big toe. She tried but failed so another came to redo which meant ALL the polish had to come off. Thought maybe the price would be reduced for the pain and mess but no, I paid $38. Where is quality control? Where is common sense management offering apologies in the form of discount. I wasn't going to demand anything since it's a shitty job for those who do it but really I have never felt so ripped off. Also question the hygiene. The individuals carry around their own little plastic box of tools with NO sign of sterilization between customers. read more

John and Tina are Wonderful ! I've been given gifts for very expensive spas that didn't make me feel as pampered as I did at Day Nails and Spa. I haven't been one to indulge myself with mani-pedis , but that could change. Love the iced coffee and yes Tina my manicure did last through washing dishes and some yard work, you ROCK !!! read more

This is hands-down the best nail experience I've had! Both the nail technicians were attentive and friendly, and the salon was very clean. I got a mani and pedi, which also included a leg massage and a neck massage! The woman who did my toenails took her time and did a wonderful job. I visited previously back in May and enjoyed my visit. My three year old daughter loved my nails & wanted to get hers done. So she picked getting her nails done with me as a reward for her behavior chart. I made an appointment, so we could get them done at the same time, for this special occasion. They sat us down, one lady helping my daughter and one helping me. She took off my nail polish and then a walk-in came in for a pedicure. So she left me and helped her! I was extremely frustrated! Of course I didn't say anything and I guess I should have because I am still irritated.. The whole reason I picked this place is because they offer the yummy iced coffee & previously had great customer service. They didn't even offer me one! They offered the lady who walked in one! Maybe doing a 'polish change' isn't spending enough money to get a coffee reward. Most nail places are the same. I went to this place for the perks. And did not get any of them. I told them she didn't want her nails filed or clipped because she was scared. Again, this is her first time getting her nails painted ever. Not even at home. I had clipped them at home the night before. Yet she still clipped & filed some anyway! They even clipped some hang nails, which I know hurts! Maybe she didn't understand me but I said it multiple times. Then she painted 'flowers' on some of her nails...without asking me! Which are just dots of white paint that turned into bloobs because my daughter can't sit still for that. Flowers aren't free, they cost extra. My daughter's $5 nail polish appointment now turned into a $10 job w/o my permission & the 'flowers' looked terrible! When she finished with my daughter & came over to me. I told her 'No thank you. I made an appointment for a reason. So we could get our nails done TOGETHER.' The lady who was so friendly last time was at the new location they opened right next door. I guess things aren't consistent enough to go back. I'm sad, I hoped that would be a place we could go to for special mommy daughter time. read more

This place is amazing! We went today to get pedicures and they did a great job. They offered Vietnamese coffee and water, and took their time to make sure our nails were perfect. Everyone working there was very friendly! They offer $5 on your birthday and if you bring a friend. They also have just about every OPI color that you could wish for. WOW. I came for a gel manicure and got so much more: a wonderfully relaxing neck and shoulder massage from Amy, hand wax treatment, delicious Vietnamese coffee. Plus great nails from Tina. And all this for only $25! The team is friendly and fun, and I also liked that they use UV-blocking gloves to protect the skin in the hardening lamps. Very recommendable. read more

Super friendly, was laughing with all the ladies through my pedicure and manicure. Probably best pedi I have ever had, including a 5/10 minute leg & foot massage. Offered water, coffee, and Vietnamese Ice Coffee. Con: my shallac started to peel within a week...usually shallac last me 2-3 weeks. I got the most amazing manicure from this place! I was continually surprised at all the little extras that kept coming...from the Vietnamese coffee or tea, exceptional neck and shoulder massage, paraffin wax treatment...oh, and the perfect gel manicure! All this was just $25.00. I had the time so she took her time and I was there about an hour, but she said if you are in a hurry to let her know and she will speed it up. Very impressed! Came with my friend and her two kids - 5 and 8 years old - to get pedicures. Called 30 minutes before arriving and they had no problem accommodating us. All the staff went above and beyond to ensure the kids had a fun experience, and also the adults! Very happy and positive environment, lots of smiling and laughing. The best nail salon I've ever been to. I've been going for the past year and will never go anywhere else. Tina and the other ladies there are amazing and very friendly/welcoming. They give you the best service. It will take a couple hours (unless you say you're in a hurry) but that's because you get an incredible massage and paraffin treatment. Also don't forget to try their delicious complimentary iced Vietnamese coffee to sip on during your mani/pedi. You will not be disappointed. It's well worth the wait. Amazing place! I came with my daughters and mother for pedicures and manicures. (Daughter is getting married) The staff was excellent and fun! Tina had to work hard to get my acrylics off before applying gel. The extra attention and spa-like treatment was unexpected and so appreciated. Walks ins NOT welcome. Tried to squeeze in a pedi within the brief two hour window of time when I did not have my kids with me during summer break. I didn't have time to go to my regular place. I walked in without an appointment and was far from welcomed. They said I could wait When I asked how long the wait might be they never answered. There's another Day Nails two blocks up the street. I called them to see if they had availability. They said come in 10 to 15 minutes. I killed some time at the library across the street. When I came in they gave me the same look and asked me to come back 45 minutes later. read more

BEYOND thrilled with the manicure/pedicure I got while visiting Seattle over Thanksgiving week! I arrived in Seattle after 6 weeks in Maui, where I had paid a lot of money ($65 + tip) for weekly mani/pedis, and in need of a quick manicure before seeing family & friends on Thanksgiving. I came here on the suggestion of my friend Louise and was THRILLED! The manicure (ONLY $10) included a FAB Vietnamese coffee & a paraffin wax bag at the end - and the pedicure was INSANE for only $20!!!!! I was in the pedi chair for 90 minutes soaking, being massaged & sipping coffee while my feet were pampered beyond compare! In NYC, where I live, this sort of experience would have cost me $150 - here, $30!! Owner Tina did my mani & co-owner John my pedi. Hands down the BEST mani/pedi I have EVER received!! Absolutely best pedicure ever. Johny and Tina were fabulous, very knowledgeable and skilled. Tina worked on massaging and preparing my feet/legs for a good 20 minutes or more before she even started on my nails which was just lovely. Wow! Exactly what I needed. I received the BEST Mani/Pedi j have EVER received. They took their time and didn't rush. Which I loved. The massages were exactly what my tires muscles needed. Tina and Amy were soooooo sweet and I enjoyed chatting with them but also just sitting in silence and relaxing. They seemed to know when I needed quiet. I was desperately needing some pampering and downtime. I'm from Tennessee and a Travel Nurse but had just got off 3 days of hard work. Well, she could barely understand me. how can an owner of a business not take some classes to learn English so she can service her clients. Secondly, they only do manicure and pedicures at the same time. Wow, they are really working here...most people like to go to a spa to be pampered, not rushed. My daughter (6), best friend and I stopped in for pedicures. No one said hi or greeted us in any way upon entry. I said hello only to receive silence and awkward stares from employees and patrons for a minute. The owner I presume asked what we wanted and I responded 3 pedicures. She asked if we could come back at 2pm. I replied no we're out of staters and we'll go else where. She said wait so we did and she came back wanting us to move our car and to follow her to her second location. The second location was t busy and we chose our colors. The water wasn't warm but cold ish. My daughter was receiving her first pedicure. No massage for her or foot massage just a pedicure which was disappointing because I wanted her to get the works and enjoy her first pedicure! The ladies didn't seem to care what we wanted or seemed to know how to do a pedicure other than paint my toe nails :( disappointing experience to the fullest degree. No conversation or warmth from the employees with us. So sad but I will get my daughter a proper pedicure experience in our home state that is deserving of my money!!! To the employees and owner, step up your game and customer service because it's not up to par! I shan't recommend this place to anyone visiting Washington! read more

The only reason why this place is getting a 1 star is because I had to put one. I went in to get a full set. It's the worst set I've ever had. I wanted round and some nails are round on one side and square on the other side, some nails are square and some are shaped the way I actually wanted. Come to find out this place doesn't really like doing full sets so they don't do them very often. I didn't know this until after the lady had started the full set. So if you're wanting a nice full set.. Do Not come here!! You'll walk out disappointed and will have to go some where else to get them fixed like I have to do. If you're wanting a mani or pedi this seems to be the right place to go but not for full sets. read more
