The top around the water filter is rusty, old, and appears moldy. The drainage holes are dirty and moldy as well. This has been an ongoing issue for years, and it's surprising that such a basic part of the gym hasn't been addressed. The indoor cycling equipment also needs attention. There are two nice FreeMotion bikes, but they aren't being maintained. The pedal straps are constantly broken. One bike has essentially been abandoned, and now the other one has the same problem. Another issue is the hand sanitizer stations. While there are plenty throughout the gym, some stay empty for weeks before being refilled. Overall cleanliness has also slipped. The obvious areas are cleaned, but if you look at corners, door frames, and less visible spots, you'll find spider webs and bugs. It gives the impression that only the most visible areas receive regular attention. That said, there are things this gym does very well. The staff is always genuinely kind and welcoming without feeling forced. They hire great people. The workout machines are clean, and the new layout is a significant improvement. The reason I'm giving this a one-star review is the water fountain. It's been unsanitary for far too long, and clean drinking water is a basic expectation for any gym. Fixing that alone would make a huge difference.

Too many people sit on the exercise machines looking at their smart phones, instead of working out. 4. Half of the members do not clean the most vulnerable germ-spreading place on the machines: The handles! Many germs are spread by the hands!

I needed two rackets strung and I called Tennis Center Sand Point for a quote. I talked to the receptionist and she said she'll transfer me to the Pro Shop. I waited on the phone and I was left with a voice message saying the voicemail inbox was full. Ok, no problem, I called again and same receptionist picked up. I was then transferred again, and someone picked up...from the Tennis Center cafe. Er, what? I called a third time and was finally transferred to the Pro shop. I asked them for their prices and it was a bit steep in the price (which by all means is fine - I'm not arguing against their policy.) I wanted to ask another question and thanked them for the quote, and in the middle of my sentence, the guy in the Pro Shop, with the most monotone and rude voice, interrupted me and just said: "Have a nice day" and hung up on me. The nerve. Customer service just flew out the door. This interaction itself single-handedly made my decision to NOT go to Sand Point to get my rackets strung. Sand Point, you just lost a potential customer. And from all the 1-star reviews, this is not an isolated incident. From the rudeness to overall incompetency, I will be looking elsewhere to get my tennis needs met.

For my needs, the club has been great with tons of options for drop in classes based on level. Where it gets a little more difficult would be for folks who want to sign up for a 6 week clinic and especially for children as the demand is far higher than supply. There is also a pro shop, which seems to have gotten some mixed reviews, but I haven't had any issues with them and the quality of the string jobs tends to be better than Avanti Sports.
