I just got off the phone with Tennis Center Sand Point, and my interaction with the Pro Shop and TCSP overall left such a sour taste in my mouth that I had to leave a review. I needed two rackets strung and I called Tennis Center Sand Point for a quote. I talked to the receptionist and she said she'll transfer me to the Pro Shop. I waited on the phone and I was left with a voice message saying the voicemail inbox was full. Ok, no problem, I called again and same receptionist picked up. I was then transferred again, and someone picked up...from the Tennis Center cafe. Er, what? I called a third time and was finally transferred to the Pro shop. I asked them for their prices and it was a bit steep in the price (which by all means is fine - I'm not arguing against their policy.) I wanted to ask another question and thanked them for the quote, and in the middle of my sentence, the guy in the Pro Shop, with the most monotone and rude voice, interrupted me and just said: "Have a nice day" and hung up on me. The nerve. Customer service just flew out the door. This interaction itself single-handedly made my decision to NOT go to Sand Point to get my rackets strung. Sand Point, you just lost a potential customer. And from all the 1-star reviews, this is not an isolated incident. From the rudeness to overall incompetency, I will be looking elsewhere to get my tennis needs met. read more

I've been a member here for the past year, and as one of the few public options for indoor tennis during the rainy months, it's a very nice facility with about a dozen courts in two buildings. For my needs, the club has been great with tons of options for drop in classes based on level. Where it gets a little more difficult would be for folks who want to sign up for a 6 week clinic and especially for children as the demand is far higher than supply. There is also a pro shop, which seems to have gotten some mixed reviews, but I haven't had any issues with them and the quality of the string jobs tends to be better than Avanti Sports. read more

No staff was available to rate me (required, if you don't already have a rating), and classes sold out within seconds of becoming available online. (I was told this is normal.) I left after contributing about 3 months of membership fees - zero personal benefit for the money spent. read more

The pricing structure is inaccurate for juniors. On their website, it shows for the ages 5-7 redball 1.0 program to be $192.00 or $144.00. On the same page, it shows enrollment is open for summer for Juniors 3-10 years old. So you go great, you sign up to register. Classes don't show on the registration portal. Find out you have to buy a membership for your kid to see available classes, which is $100.00 okay, no problem. Now you try to sign up for the redball 1.0 program, and it's only showing late fall, which is full and a summer camp for $364. So you call and the nice person helps you and says okay the class has been added that will be $360.00. Wait what, website shows $192.00 and $144.00. Oh, those classes are not offered in summer, just the camps. Fix your pricing page. What kind of shady tactics is this? read more

What an incredible INDOOR tennis facility. AMAZING COURTS! Ten clean indoor tennis courts + a couple batting cages. GREAT CAFE! Ripe bananas, pastries, espresso coffees and loads of other treats to eat and drink. Sweet staff Javier and great prices too. FANTASTIC TENNIS SHOP! Everything you need to play and stay healthy! Shoes, clothes and rackets for women, men and kids too. Bags, balls, grips and even knee and arms straps! THE BEST TENNIS PROS! I took a private lesson with Jason Neri - he fixed three things in one hour! - gave me an angled wide return - made my serve 80% instead of 50%!!! - great backhand (just like Novak my fav player) He was also VERY knowledgeable about strings and rackets - his Yonex was awesome. This facility is so clean/new and has the kindest and most professional staff. 20 of them!!! I can't believe the prices too - amazing deal (see my photos for those). Pros - great lighting, great coaches Cons - No chance of playing in the Cup league (daytime September through March) unless you are lucky enough to get a spot on one of the existing teams which is highly competitive. Daytime USTA (8 weeks in Spring) has a lottery so only the teams who win the lottery get a spot (2 spots each level). Very difficult to get into classes, highly competitive. Basically this club is overcrowded and the club doesn't seem to know how to manage the volume. I recommend finding another club if you want daytime league play or lessons. I don't know the evening team situation. read more

Love the instructors and atmosphere! Lots of ways for all levels to engage. Courts and facility are maintained really well.

My family used to use the club a lot before Covid. My son used to go there weekly lessons. The number of students each lessons was big, and could not help enough to improve so that we left. They used to group kids by their age, so that it was very hard to my child to improve since some kids were totally beginners. The Sand point tennis club is really convenient since it is very close to me. The facility is very clean, Willy's cafe became my favorite. I hope to come back to the club someday. read more

The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is the location and distance from my work and home (downtown Seattle). The indoor courts remind me of The Bay Club back in SF, and they have a very nice callibration exercise that all new members have to do before they can sign up for lessons. The receptionist is not helpful nor does she care about customer service. Everything is done on the website for signing up. So I could not get into the web, and I came down to the Sand Point all the way from the Eastside and all she said was she could not help me...... Could she have not logged on to see what classes are available? Nothing. And two men standing there said nothing... Then after that, she looked down and played on her cell phone....... I think I will wait until Amy Yee is done with the renovation and keep going to the Redmond Tennis Club even though they have their challenges. read more

Played tennis here for the first time and it was amazing, there's 2 separate buildings for tennis courts as well as the playtech technology that records matches and analyzes peoples tennis playstyle. Played a couple of sets here and even though I was extremely rusty and lost, I still had an amazing time. Sandpoint also almost always has the newest rackets. I tried the new Wilson Blade and it felt pretty good, I'd even consider buying it but I love my personal Wilson Blade. Other than that, this place basically has everything from ball machines to a small warm up/workout area and playing here will definitely improve your tennis. They also have the new Triniti balls which I haven't tried yet but the supposedly bounce higher than normal balls, my friend said he didn't notice much of a difference though read more

Joining Tennis Center Sand Point has been awesome. The courts are in great shape, the instructors and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Membership fee is $120 per year ($10 / month, paid upfront). Clinics are typically around ~$250 for an 10 week period (a great deal), and private lessons are around $100 / hour. An hour & fifteen minute court time reservation is around $45. Their pro shop is fitted with everything you would need and regularly runs good deals (I found a pair of tennis shoes I liked for less than $70). The only caveat is that because it is such a great facility, there are often a lot of other members looking to get court times and sign up for classes. Class registration is competitive (you have to be ready to sign up at 6am sharp on registration day), and court times can be hard to get for peak days/times. Overall, very happy with this club! read more

This review if for two things, the center itself and lessons with Nick Ketcham. Tennis Center: This center is fantastic. It is not only well staffed with super friendly and fun employees who are supportive of all skill level players, but the courts are excellent. The overall facilities are clean and bright and the onsite store makes it easy to pick up essentials you may need or have forgotten. One thing to note, this is a tennis center, not a country club, they don't have non-tennis related activities and no social calendar/pool/gym etc like most of the other "clubs" in Seattle do. I don't mind that (I actually like it) but if that's what you're looking for this is not the place for you. However, if you want a great community of tennis players and a fantastic center to play in with great staff, then this is for you. Lessons with Nick Ketcham: I have never, in all my years of taking various lessons, had as much fun and learned as much about a sport as I did with Nick. I started taking lesson my self and then after seeing how much fun I was having my husband joined me in short order. We are not what you would call jocks, or even all that athletic. Nick never made us feel like we weren't jock enough and encouraged us throughout our time with him. He has a ton of much more athletic players taking lessons with him. Most of whose lessons I watch in awe. I never felt like we were less important. Nick's greatest strength as an instructor is his ability to break down strokes into easy to understand portions and then help you put it all together. He gives copious feedback in a kind, fun and constructive way. If you miss a ball, he tells you why and offers suggestions. He doesn't get frustrated if you take a long time mastering something, he just breaks it down further and keeps providing feedback. Case in point, I now get the ball in almost every time I serve, this was not something I never dreamed possible, but he made it happen for me. For me, the most exciting part of all this is that through our lessons with Nick, my husband and I have found a passion for tennis and we will likely play for the rest of our lives. Also, getting compliments on our technique from other players while playing on a hotel court during our last vacation made us feel quite cool. ;) For all these reasons and more, which I have omitted to keep this short, I would highly recommend TCSP and above all lessons/classes with Nick Ketcham. read more

I put my daughter in 8 Saturdays Of Yellow Ball Tennis ages11-13. It was a Glorified Baby Sitting . When the clinic was over there was no feedback as to whether my daughter is ready to move on to the next level. Tennis Center at Sand Point is the best facility in Seattle! It is brand new so the courts are recently paved and are in awesome shape-- you won't see a crack in sight! Furthermore, they have weekly and daily programs that are from beginner to advanced level, and incorporate fun events into their weekly schedule. Also, the lights are in a favorable position to avoid being hard on the eyes when serving... This seems to be an issue at other indoor facilities like Eastside Tennis Center, and the center is heated unlike that of Amy Yee (brrr!). The best thing of all, though, is the stadium (2nd) level that allows folks to congregate and watch their team or loved ones play. As far as I am concerned, this is a must for a good facility and all the other ones seem to lack this. For this reason I am a member at Sand Point, and stoked to continue playing there! read more

I've been coming here for matches, private lessons and group lessons now for a few months and I absolutely love the place. The instructors I have worked with are all fabulous and the classes are well taught, challenging and fun. I've taken the Wimbledon Workout, Cardio Tennis, and a Clinic and they've all been great. While lessons aren't cheap, they are well worth the price. The facility is great as well. The pro shop is awesome - they have rackets for you to test out for $5 and whenever you purchase a racket the money you spent towards testing rackets goes towards the purchase of your new racket. It's so nice that everything is indoors - the tents are huge so it really takes effort to hit the ceiling. Overall - love it! I love going and will continue going! read more

Night staff tonight was not very sympathetic to plight of the players or for the sportsmanship of the game. I understand it's closing time and you have to close but we are in a tie-breaker for the flex League with only a few more points to go. Instead you make us stop playing. Then you walk around collecting balls and baskets taking like 10 mins to complete. By that time, we could have finished our tie-breaker and with time left to spare. Instead now we have to book another court time to finish the tie-breaker to finish the flex league match. Not cool or nice. The rhythm and dynamics of the match has changed if we start over another day and another time... very disappointing and frustrating to say the least... read more

I love this place!! I've been looking for a good indoor tennis center that provided classes to the public, and they do this and more! I had a 1 hour evaluation with David, and he definitely ran me through my courses. Instead of diving straight into classes he recommended that I practice with a ball machine this summer. I hadn't played in about 6 or 7 years, so to hear this was great news. I wouldn't have to pay $70/private lesson and I wouldn't have to join a class that I may or may not fit into. Plus a year-long membership is only $75! I am super excited to explore all their other services ... and their mini-golf course. So awesome! read more

I've been playing at TCSP for about a year now, and it's a great facility. I play in teams that compete in USTA leagues, and we have practice once a week with a TCSP instructor. I find our practices intense, fun, and useful--the holy triumvirate when it comes to sports! The courts themselves are also very well-maintained. There are 8 indoor courts, which means that I can play no matter what the weather's like outside. They even have a pro shop (with fairly frequent sales) if you need a new racket or shoes. Once again, the TCSP-run summer outdoor program at the Blue Ridge Community Club in North Ballard was a smash. We had marvelous weather and enrolled in various cardio and live-ball classes. TCSP pro Clay Dudley led the program this year and did an exceptional job. Clay introduced the reduced-speed orange balls into some of our cardio games, and it had the desired effect of allowing players of mixed abilities to keep the points going longer, thereby giving us a better workout. My wife and I look forward to enrolling in Blue Ridge Tennis classes next summer. read more

It is amazing. Ten beautiful indoor courts with very nice receptionist and coaches. They have coaches of every personality you can imagine :) Annual membership cost around $100. Court fee is pretty high but offers great classes and huge range of hours (545am to 10pm). I don't know if you can get better than this. The also have a great pro shop with racquets, clothing, and shoes. The viewing area for one of the building is great. The cafe that is attached has been a little unstable since it has opened but I am hoping the current owner is here to stay since they have good selection of drinks and food. The facility has been open around two years and it has continue to improve so going to give it a five star. read more

Just make sure to not take any classes where Jason is the instructor, he's a negative, petty instructor and his negativity has no place in tennis. TCSP is phenomenal. I moved to NE Seattle 5 years ago from CA, and it was really frustrating that there were no indoor facilities in the area (especially being used to hitting all year round outdoors). The new center opened last Fall, and my entire family is ecstatic about it! We play there multiple times a week now, and as a USTA league 5.0 player who has visited most of the indoor facilities in the greater Seattle area, it really is the best facility in my opinion. My top 5: 1) The ceilings are super high. You have to "try" to hit them. 2) The lighting is excellent. Bright enough to have great visibility, but not in your face, as the lights reflect off the ceiling. 3) The layout is great. In the South building, there are 6 courts, and there is an upper level with tables and comfy chairs to watch tennis below or hang out pre or post hit. Cloud City Cafe is on this upper level and has a wide array of tasty beverage and food options. The pro shop is fantastic in helping you choose a racquet or getting your racquet strung. The North side has 4 courts, and it also has a viewing area as well as a space for TRX training. 4) They have a ton of great programs for juniors and adults. 5) The best part about TSCP are the people. Everyone who works there is SOOO nice and helpful; I can tell they are very particular about customer service and do a tremendous job in selecting their staff. We feel like this place is our second home and the staff are family. I'd like to give a quick shout out to: Johan, Mike, Jamie, Jake, Jeff, Jeff, Nick, Nick, Jason, Jerry, Kyle, Brian, Rachel, Monica, Mark, Dave, Steve and even Norman (the friendliest court cleaner you'll ever meet!). My only hesitation in writing this review is that we'll get too many new members and less court time:) I'm willing to take that chance to help this place succeed! read more

The facility is clean and new. The instructors are nice. The lessons for children are over-priced and poorly organized. For each multi-week session, kids are rated the first week, then placed into groups based on skill level. On subsequent weeks, the kids rotate through stations with different instructors at each station. Lots of time is wasted changing stations. Some instructors are engaging and great, while others look bored. Lessons often start just a few minutes late. The space for parents to watch lessons is small and crowded. There are never enough seats. The facility is great, but the program feels disorganized. For the price, I do not think it is worth it. read more

A not half-bad spot for mini-golf, especially for $5 and if you have small kids in tow. The course is basic and entertaining for the golfer and non-golfer alike. First off, this facility is fantastic. Clean, spacious, well-organized. My issue is the classes for kids. My daughter has been thru 1 session of tennis whizz (3-4 yr) and 2 sessions of red ball (5-7 yr). Tennis Whizz with Mark was great. She made marked improvement and had fun. Red ball classes are a waste of time and money. Dozens of children are evaluated on the first day and put into groups by skill. Then they rotate thru stations practicing skills. While this seems like a good idea. A lot of time is wasted changing stations. At individual stations kids spend a lot of time just standing around or goofing off waiting for a turn. The class seems to always start a few minutes late, which is annoying. The instructors themselves are great, friendly, and enthusiastic. I would rather they group the children by skill, and then they stay with the same instructor for the entire multi-week session, or the same 2 instructors switching off? This way instructors and kids get to know each other. The attention from Mark in tennis whizz classes made a big difference. Overall, we are very disappointed. As a life long tennis player, we were excited for the opening of this facility. I think it is a great place to play, but for kids lessons, we are looking elsewhere. read more

I have played tennis for 25 years and because of living in different places, belonged to many clubs, private as well as semi-public like TCSP. Among a slew of 7 clubs I have belonged to, TCSP is the absolute worst. It is forged out of profit making without any input from players. If you play USTA and want to take lessons, it is good. If you want group play at the correct level, camaraderie, socialization, easy access to court times, it does not exist. The operation of the place is driven by pure economics. Which is fine as long as desperate tennis enthusiasts are begging to find a place to play indoors, but that does not make it a great tennis facility that it should strive to be like others around the country. read more

My friend and I have been playing regularly all summer and with the coming fall wanted to try out this place as an alternative to out door sessions. We were glad we came as the center is top notch from the courts to the staff to the ammenities. Our game was interuppted for about 5 minutes from an absolute downpoor outside that had water flooding under a door. Instead of making us wait until it was cleaned they simply moved us to the group class court and comped our entire session! After playing we grabbed a beer (at very reasonable prices) from the cafe and watched a little US Open mixed with observing some of the very talented players down on the courts (the cafe is perched right over the courts). One thing this center doesn't provide is a "country club atmosphere" which I like. There isn't much pretension in the air and it's all about playing tennis and having a good time not trying to sell the latest and greatest in tennis gear or pushing private lessons. read more

This is one of the nicest locations for indoor in the city that is public as well. Open late for court times and courts are well lit and in great shape. Down side here is car break ins are regular thing. I haven't been a victim yet but beware. Also offers food and drinks in a upstairs viewing area which only captures about 3 court that you can watch otherwise the viewing here for matches is not the best. read more

Known affectionately as TCSP or in my case, my home-away-from-home, this is the best facility around for year-round tennis. If you are a beginner, they have great instructional classes like "Tennis in 10" or if you're thinking about getting back into tennis (like me 2+ years ago), the Cardio tennis class for adults is an amazing way to get both a workout and re-awaken those former tennis muscles and technique. But be forewarned, this place is addictive. There are more competitive tennis classes (Wimbledon Workout!) and USTA teams to check out as well. Awesome spot for tennis, teams and clinics. Amazing facility - height of ceilings, lighting, court surface, layout in general where you can grab snacks at cafe and look out over the courts. Friendly front staff and good stuff in pro shop. Fast stringing. Good selection. Fun people in clinics and on teams - doesn't seem to be much attitude, which is great - people just seem to love to play the game. Been doing the bootcamp with Jeff and Gerry (not your grandmother's boot camp, that's for sure!) and then the occasional team lesson with Brian. Pros are knowledgeable, fun and very personable. A few areas for improvement: Coordinating a private or semi-private lesson is a challenge - we've tried to for months and we're still waiting for a call back. The cafe is not known for speedy service so don't be in a rush when you go there - it feels like it takes forever to pay for a muffin. The women's changing room is okay but not great. I wouldn't want to plan to shower there often - not really enough room to move around, hang towels, etc. Overall: love it and so happy to play tennis there - they get the core stuff right but could improve some of the frills. read more

I have been attending classes and playing on USTA leagues for a couple of years out of TCSP. I can tell you because I have been to all the Puget Sound indoor facilities. For public use, this one is the best. And frankly I have been to the Seattle Tennis Club also and courts and facilities are just as good. But that is not the best part. The best part is the staff. Jaime the director of tennis is amazing and has great kids programs. Jeff, Kyle, Mark...all incredible players and great motivators and teachers. It is the best tennis in the NW right now and if you are wanting to get back into tennis or start...this is the place for you. read more

Even as a beginner I've always felt welcomed and encouraged. The facilities are the best around and the coffee shop is a great place to hang out after a match.
