    Just outside my room

"Eek! Me thinks not", is right! Exhausted and against my better judgement, I stayed one night. Don't make the same mistake! Unsavory characters hanging out by elevators. Cars with flat tires and broken windows in the dimly lit parking lot. Disgustingly filthy, smelly room. Food crumbs on floor. Burn holes in sheets. Stains on towels. Sticky bathroom floor. Worn, slimy carpet. No refrigerator. Broken towel rack. Dirt in stairwells probably hasn't been swept in months, littered with cigarette butts, cotton swabs and trash. There isn't one clean spot in this hotel! Front and side glass doors look like they haven't been cleaned in at least a week. Cigarette butts all around front and side doorways. Should I go on? Adding to the charm of this hotel, is the location. The partially abandoned mall you have to drive through to get to this hotel, has got unmowed grass and really just looks creepy. Along with the abandoned mall, there are a few abandoned restaurants as well. The only reasons this place gets a star at all, is the proximity to the highway and that latch I swung over on the door after I locked myself in my room. Had the desk clerk asked me how my stay was, I would've told him. He didn't ask, so I assume he doesn't care.

Where to start, you drive up to a seemingly abandoned office building converted into an abandoned hotel, get your room key(they are nice enough). Park by the entrance closest to your room.and then... the doors don't latch to the outside so anyone can walk in or out as they please, the hallways are dirty and full of random junk, the room looks like it's never been vacuumed (full of debris and stains) all the furniture is banged up and poorly cleaned, stains on all the bed sheets, I didn't use the mini fridge because it was gross, I immediately went to the local target and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the room myself, I even bought a cheap bedding set to use ( my company paid for the room so I had to make the best of it). Then after all that I get up in the morning and and attempt to shower but there is no freaking hot water, I tryed the sink and it got Luke warm at best. I told the hotel staff and they assured me the hot water works I go back to my room and let the shower run for almost 15 minutes with only hot on and it never got warm, I will never stay here again. The only positive I can say is I didn't see any bugs or any of the drug addicts mentioned in other reviews

    Mystery stains on bedding

This is actually a negative stars review!! Days Inn has a standard, and this isn't it!!! Booked a room at this location for memorial weekend through booking.com, the reviews on there were 3-4 stars. I thought, "ok, that's pretty good for the rate." Boy was I wrong!!!! It wasn't more than 20mins from the time I arrived until the time I left!!! The reception desk attendant was VERY helpful and understanding. She said that they were under new management and doing renovations (I saw the renovations and gave some leeway in their favor because of that, but still... Damn). She took note of the complaint and the deficiencies, cancelled my reservation, and was very pleasant to deal with (she was the best thing about this hotel). I wish I could find a positive about this place, but I just can't. A marijuana roach under the couch, burn marks on the couch in a NON SMOKING ROOM, mystery stains on the bedding, hair all over the bedding, an electrical junction box without a cover plate to prevent little fingers from getting in there and hurt , the tub was painted and peeling around the drain, the counter was painted and hadn't been cleaned showing nasty finger prints, water damage on the ceiling dry wall above the shower -it was beginning to separate and droop (...

First off, when we arrived last night, the personnel were so friendly and accommodating... Debbie at the front desk and then Val, who was just finishing her shift and she wanted to let Debbie know the status of things before she left for the night. Well, Val came back in when she noticed her license plate was from Pennsylvania and started talking to us about how much she loves the Philadelphia area and she was just so nice pleasant and thoughtful. My husband doesn't usually like chatting to strangers, but he even enjoyed the conversation with Debby and Val! Which says a lot! Our room was remarkable, clean well appointed the shower was perfect. The bathroom supplies were great. The location was fabulous. Nice inconvenient everything about this place really hit the mark! Even the coffee station in the morning was fully stocked and had real creamer! And I can't leave out the fact that we had our dog with us. Yes, Hampton Inn allows dogs, which was a real bonus on this trip because our four legged family member is traveling with us. Five stars!

Hannah let me switch rooms cause I knew I wasn't gonna be able to sleep with that noise and I didn't wanna have to call the cops again because they took so long before and I wanted to go back to sleep. Then it took as long as it took to change rooms slept 10-11:50 Room was 63 degrees and freezing so woke up before midnight. Warming up too slow 206 New room 205 still not 74 at 1:20 am Wasted 2 1/2 hrs on loud guests and cold room 206.. only got a room to sleep.. I had to move my stuff three times and it still isn't 75° and it's 1:20 AM. I didn't get the handicap room or the business suite like I paid for and the room I have now doesn't have a bathtub. While I appreciate being moved twice to try to rectify the problem this has left a terrible taste in my mouth mostly because of the other guests of course but it was totally unnecessary and very unfair to me. Because of your other guests, I don't feel safe in this hotel like I can't go out of the room without looking over my shoulder and I definitely can't go in the parking lot alone without being very vigilant. As a single woman traveling alone, this is absolutely unacceptable. But, it's absolutely unacceptable to all other guests simply because of the noise and I was told people have complained about them before and yet they got to complete their entire 2 week stay.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to adults and teens (with adults) of any age! (There are too many antiques around for tiny hands to touch.) Hallauer House is just 4 miles from the heart of Oberlin, but trust me, it will be worth the drive to this gem on the Underground Railroad if you are looking for peace and quiet, an exquisite 5-Star gourmet breakfast, a spa package, a workout room, if you so choose, and delightful hosts who work very hard to make their guests feel warmly welcomed. My son and I needed to arrive at Oberlin College by 11:00 Monday, so staying overnight in nearby Lorain, OH at this beautiful hotel was the perfect solution. The hotel's restaurant is always closed Sunday-Monday, so we didn't get to try that, but we were able to find take-out from a restaurant in Amherst, and eat in our room. We were really surprised to learn that only two families were staying at the hotel the night we stayed! We got a great deal on Expedia for a queen double room. About $112 in total, and parking was free. Free Wifi. Super clean facility. Beds were so comfortable and the shower was awesome. I loved all the cute vintage features, like the mail shoot by the elevator. No swimming inpool yet, due to COVID of course, but perhaps we will enjoy a swim on our next visit. We will definitely stay here next time we are visiting Oberlin, which is about a 25 minute drive from Lorain. Thank you to Sabrina and the other hotel staff for being so welcoming and for providing my son and I with such a wonderful and relaxing stay! Updated: we stayed here for Oberlin College graduation weekend and had a solid stay although it was rowdier at night during the weekend when a wedding was happening. Room was clean, beds were ok.
