We had the most horrible experience at this hotel. We booked a one-bedroom room three weeks prior for a lake boating trip. After spending all day on the lake, we checked in at 6:30 PM only to find out they only accept credit cards, unless you're Canadian, then they accept debit. Thankfully, we had an emergency credit card, or we wouldn't have been able to stay in the room we booked. The lady behind the counter, Laura, was extremely unhelpful. She told us, "I don't know what to tell you, it's your cards that are bad." Another staff member mentioned there was a glitch with some of the credit machines, which is why our debit cards wouldn't work. Despite having our card on file, they refused to accept cash and even had an ATM right behind me. When we finally got our keys, we discovered they put us in a king suite, which is a single room with a king bed and a couch, not the one-bedroom we had booked. When I returned to the front desk, I told the young man that was there that I was put into the wrong room. Laura made sure to come out as soon as she saw me from the back. Laura said that the NEW owners took our room for themselves and that the GM told her to still charge us the one bedroom rate, which was $50 more than the room we received. I requested to switch to a two-queen room, which was $110 compared to $190, but Laura insisted she would have to charge my card again. As a line of people started forming behind me, I pulled up the hotel's website to show the rate for the king suite. Laura reluctantly agreed to discount the rate to $161 after taking my phone from me and looking at the days inn web site, but only after I insisted. She then said, "I don't think anything I do will make you happy, why don't I just check you out?" I told her what would make me happy is to be fair and give me the rate for the room I was put in and not try to upcharge me because the owners took my room. She rolled her eyes, "I will just give you the $161 rate." in a rude clipped tone. I said thank you I appreciate that. After asking for a receipt, she initially refused, stating they only give receipts at checkout. When I asked to take a picture of the computer screen with the new rate, she finally provided a room registration with the discounted rate and made sure to circle the new rate in red marker giving it to me with a scowl on her face. This experience was incredibly frustrating, especially since I visit this hotel regularly for lake boating trips and have never had such issues before. Laura was very rude and unprofessional. I strongly advise staying away from this hotel. Wish I could give 0 stars but unfortunately you have to give at least one. read more

Check in was a breeze and Travis at the front desk was so nice and helpful. Even though you can see the interstate from the room, (as well as beautiful Mountain View's) it was very quiet and the beds were so comfortable (very soft). There is a desk and a single cup coffee maker in the room as well as a mini fridge. But, no microwave. However, there's one by the ice machine when coming off the elevator. The stay also came with free breakfast. The buffet included eggs, sausage patties, regular waffles, cereal, fruit, bread, and beverages (juice, coffee, soda, etc). The eggs were hot and good, the sausage was cold, but the juice was very cold and the coffee was very hot. As for the shower, it got VERY hot very quickly. I had to jump back out feeling like I was being burned - so be careful and don't put it up all the way. The shower head adjusts the pressure and the towels were so soft! No scratchy towels here! read more

I'M COMING BACK! Beautiful view from breakfast area. Two sinks were great because one could be in the bathroom and the other still have access to water. We also appreciated the table that pulled out from the desk. We like to play cards after a long day and it was nice to be able to do that comfortably in our room. Every staff member was great including cleaning staff. And the room was so clean feeling!! This hotel will be my first choice should I be in the area again! read more

Very large and well maintained hotel with a large conference center. I've past this place plenty of times but this is the first time I've had the opportunity to stop. Situated on top of a hill overlook the Flatwoods exit and easy to access from the Interstate. Being that Flatwoods is the geographical center of WV this should be on any organizations short list for conference sites. View is absolutely beautiful. This is the second stay here and the service was great both times. The first time my granddaughter and I got rained out of our tent and Terri hooked us up with a great room and lots of extra shampoo and conditioner, (we had been in the woods for a while). My second time, my reservation was messed up by Cap One Travel, but the GM gave me a room with a discount on a holiday weekend. They were very understanding, and again, the service was friendly and gracious. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the showers had lots of pressure. It was 2am when I called the hotel, hoping that they might still have rooms available. 2am is a strange time to try to book online, as it is too late (in an early sort of way) to secure a room for an immediate stay. Go ahead, try to book a room from a mobile app at 2am. Then have fun waiting 12 hours before they will let you check in. So I called, instead. My question was answered with, "Oh yes, come on over, we have plenty of space!" Ok, so now it's 2am, I'm in West Virginia, and I'm driving toward a hotel with plenty of space. I had 20 miles of worry that I was driving into an unpleasant situation. When I pulled off of the highway and didn't see the hotel right away...the panic increased. Then GPS directed me around a bend (and a car dealership) up a steep hill, and into the half filled parking lot of a huge hotel. Whew! They had plenty of space because they had plenty of space. My mood improved immediately. The woman at the desk helped check me in, offered me a cookie, and made sure I knew about breakfast in the morning. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Sleep was easy in a cozy bed, and I dreamed of the hot breakfast to come. The hotel sits across the highway from a Fiestaware outlet store. I'd noticed the display in the lobby, but it didn't really hit me until morning when I walked into the nicest looking breakfast buffet I've seen in a hotel of this class. Fiestaware dishes stacked high, just where you need them for your waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage, and fresh fruit. The coffee in the lobby was not good, but the coffee inside the restaurant was much better, and it was all set off so nicely by the view. By building the hotel high on a hill, it was above the highway and the car dealer. The view looks out over the rolling mountains of West Virginia, and I'll bet it looks fantastic as the leaves change. I wish I'd had time to step outside on the patio. It held a collection of chairs for people to sit and admire the view. If I'm ever in this spot again I'll book a room and work on an earlier (or is that later?) arrival time so that I can explore a bit more of what this hotel has to offer. read more

I'm giving an educational keynote in WV. I love WV, it's has some of the most stunning natural beauty that you can find. But. When they booked my hotel in the middle of no where and it said on my itinerary that it was a Days Inn, I got nervous. Norman Bates and all that stuff... Was I ever shocked at what I actually found. Huge comfy bed that smelled freshly washed with tons of marshmallow pillows ( I have a thing for pillows). Nice furniture, not worn. Great mountain views, beautiful patios with lovely deck furniture, clean swimming pools and an above average dining option off the lobby. My room has two sink areas, the air conditioning works and didn't make me feel like I was breathing mold...never a good thing. The staff was friendly and breakfast was free. REAL eggs and sausage. An outlet shopping place across the road, some fast food options as well as a limited number of local eateries. Nothing to brag about. So, I live to see another day. No Norman Bates here. read more

When visiting my college aged daughter for long weekends, we live staying at Days Inn. The rooms have always been clean. The indoor pool, hot tub, and outdoor pool are fabulous amenities to utilize and relax. The view is absolutely amazing. Vison's has great food for dinner, not to mention the free breakfast bar in the mornings. read more

Reservationists apparently don't know their own policy. We passed up other hotels to stay at the Days Inn and when we got there at 1:30 AM, ready to finally get some rest they informed us despite their internet listing and what their reservationist said, in fact the Days Inn is not a pet friendly establishment. Then we had to waste another 30 minutes fighting with them to keep from being charged for the room. Keeping in mind we had just made the reservation while on the road 15 minutes earlier. We will never attempt to stay at a Days Inn or any other Wyndham establishment again. P.S.- just popped up where they are still trying to charge us a booking fee. read more

Yes it needs a bit updating, but it is a great place to stay. It has an indoor and outdoor pool with a hot tub indoors as well as outside. The giant adirondack chair is a great spot for pictures and the plentiful breakfast buffet is an added bonus. The staff maintains the property with a smile and the towels are nice and soft not scratchy. We always stay here and we will again. read more

The hotel is huge, one of the Days Inn conference properties. Check in was fast and without issue, and we were quickly in our spacious room. The pool and workout areas were very nice. Bathroom was clean and shower was excellent. Beds were great. So why not 5 stars? The food. There were literally 4 platter options, a few sandwiches, and two salads. That was it. Everything was either deep fried or boil bagged. The conference facility really showed in this aspect. In addition, the 'bar' does not actually exist, you place your drink order with the waitress and she (eventually, after running her food orders) gets your drink over to you. Stay for the great rooms, but go elsewhere to eat. read more

Stayed in old section and it was great to have a balcony and the beds and pillows were very soft. However the WiFi kept dropping, you could not use it more then 5 minutes at a time if you were lucky. The good: the location was scenic the view was very nice, breakfast was awesome. The rooms were clean and the hotel seemed well managed. The price for rooms was very reasonable. The bad: wifi sucked, never could get reception that worked well. The buffet dinner was nasty and expensive. They should have served breakfast for supper. The food food tasted like bad TV dinners. They should scrap the dinner buffet or serve staple foods that resonate with people.... They got too cute trying to make it upscale...ditch the shrimp, Swiss steak, rib-eye, tortlilini, fancy rice, and other upscale looking items and serve comfort food that is quality... Fried chicken, French fries, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, nice vegetable, pizza, make it solid like the breakfast ....also, label the salad dressings...also, we were planning on going to Mad Annie's or whatever they call their lounge and it was pretty disappointing hole in the wall. Maybe I'm expecting too much but it shouldn't have a name like Mad Annie's when it's such a a hole in the wall, it should simply be called "lounge". Also, even though the place is well maintained it's very dated way too much carpet everywhere... Hopefully they get some money to update the the look... I can't really add to anything that's already been said .... except to say, if you would like a balcony that you would like to step out on for a breath of fresh air, make sure you ask for a room on the western side of the building overlooking the interstate. I only signed up for Yelp so that I could review this hotel. I was just there this past weekend for a Gaming convention (Charcon Bonus Round) and it was such a great space. They catered lunch and dinner for Saturday and lunch for Sunday. It was all good but the canned soda was $2 a can which was a little high. The staff was incredible all the time. The pool was nice and not overly chlorinated. My only complaint was the hot tub wasn't working great. It was fabulous. read more

This place has a breakfast and dinner buffet which was included in my stay. The hotel is not what i would expect from a Days Inn. I thought Days Inns were much worse than this. I would compare this hotel (only this one) to a Hampton Inn! I will be back because they have everything I like in a Hotel. read more

Great view! And a balcony attached to the room that you can actually walk out onto. Decent breakfast for a hotel. Nice pools. Very clean. Slow internet- but this is only a problem if you need to get a lot of work done. All in all, we had a nice visit. read more
