BUYER BEWARE DANGEROUS - Unsafe, Overcharged, and Poorly Managed I had a very negative experience at the Days Inn by Wyndham Bend and do not recommend staying here. The property felt unsafe after our vehicle was vandalized in the parking lot, and management was unhelpful. To make matters worse, my card was overcharged, and I witnessed another guest complaining that their room key was activated without any ID check--the exact same issue I later experienced myself. Key issues during our stay: Reservation trap: From what we were told by the front desk, pressing "1" when calling their main line sends you to a third-party booking system. Their strict policies don't allow early checkout, even if you feel unsafe. Serious security concerns: Staff repeatedly activated key cards without confirming names or ID. This puts every guest at risk. Billing problems: My credit card was overcharged, and staff offered no clear explanation. In addition, we discovered we were charged $600 in unapproved additional fees by a third-party company called hotelshelp.com. Poor amenities: WiFi was almost unusable, the bathtub was broken (shower only), and the so-called "free breakfast" was just a couple of packaged snacks. Overall, this hotel felt unsafe, unprofessional, and poorly maintained. If you're looking for a secure and reliable place to stay in Bend, Oregon, I strongly suggest choosing another hotel. UPDATE: We are trying to remain professional and level-headed when interfacing with the front desk staff and phone service while trying to request a refund. My wife is no longer going into the lobby for coffee in the mornings after being cursed at by the front desk staff (Marina). I require 2 things to get a good night's sleep. Darkness and quiet. This motel had neither. There was a bright light outside our window that seeped in around the curtains. I could see everything in the room in the middle of the night. Then there was the loud music blaring from the cocktail bar, Dogwood, behind our motel building. At first before I knew where it was coming from I thought it was the room next door-that's how loud it was. We had a long drive to get there and we wanted to go to sleep around 9. The music continued till 10 pm on Friday night. My husband went to the Dogwood the next afternoon asking them to please confine their music to inside the building. It was March and cold outside so nobody was out there listening to music anyway. They told him they would, but nope. It blared till after 1:00am. I realize this isn't Days Inn's fault but it's a big no for me for going back. The room looked pretty clean when we got there but when I looked for an outlet behind the bed to plug in my electronics I discovered thick dust & dirt on the bed frame and on the floor. Ick. We had to juggle outlet plugs to get one the microwave would work with. The shower was hot & strong and felt good! The "breakfast" was just cold stuff, unless you count packets of instant oatmeal available to add hot water to. They had hard boiled eggs, little prepackaged juice cups and yogurt in a fridge. Also some mini muffins, a couple types of cold cereal and coffee. Our room only had 2 hangers. I asked for more at the office but the woman said they didn't have any more. We had wet ski clothes we wanted to hang up Saturday night so that was annoying. We also had non ski jackets to hang up too. The room had no extra blankets or pillows either, unlike most places we've stayed at. I belatedly read reviews for the Days Inn and read about the rude office workers. The two I talked to were fine, if not very helpful. Maybe the manager read the reviews and sent them to niceness training! If you don't mind any of the above and just want a cheap place to sleep, you might think this is a good deal, but take my advice and pack your earplugs and eye mask! read more

The place is a filthy dump. The bathroom was deplorable at best. The tile was disgusting, there were holes in the floor. They had taken the carpet out and put in a vinyl floor to make it look like wood. But, it was not properly installed, so when you walked across it, it makes popping sounds. . Honesty so surprised at the place! It was SPOTLESS. It wasn't the type of inexpensive places where you know someone was smoking on your room at some point. Smelled so fresh and clean. Towels were soft and fluffy. They provided shampoo and body wash. The sheets were soft and the room was the perfect temp. The only reason I didn't give out 5 was that the fridge was so loud that it kept waking us up and the toilet didn't want to flush. Oh and I almost forgot... the mattress was HEAVEN!! Days Inn by Wyndham Bend was a fine place to stay at for one night while we were driving through the area. Most importantly, we had our dog with us, so needed a place that was dog-friendly and didn't break the bank, which is exactly what Days Inn is known for. The check-in progress was simple. The staff was friendly, giving directions on where the room was, when breakfast was and offered recommendations for nearby breweries and restaurants. Check-in is at 3pm and check out is at 11am. The room was simple. Nothing fancy. It's an older building, but had a functioning TV, mini fridge, coffeemaker, hot water in the shower, reliable wifi and AC. It was basically everything we needed. But if you're expecting fancy and need to be pampered then clearly, this is not the place for you. They have a designated, relief dog area, which was super nice, with poop bags. We actually saw a lot of guests with dogs. There was also an outdoor pool area. However, the breakfast right now is a grab and go due to COVID restrictions. You get two pieces of fruit, a pastry and apple juice. But there was free coffee and tea in the lobby, which was nice. Overall, this is a decent place to stay if you're looking to spend a night and passing through the area with your dog. No frills and nothing fancy. I'm okay with that, as long as everything we wanted worked (free wifi, AC, fridge, etc.), which it did. read more

I booked this Hotel on my way home from an anniversary trip to the Oregon Coast. As we were preparing to leave my husband developed a migrane with vomiting. We tried to rest in a rest stop and do anything we could to continue our trip. We were only able to get an hour down the road after 3 hours of trying. I called the hotel at 7 asking to cancel but was told they absolutely would not. We were forced to get another hotel and pay for the one in Bend we could not get to. I am not sure what all these bad reviews are about, pretty sure they are from people who just like to complain and spend their lives looking at the negatives instead of the positives. I came to Bend to visit with family, stayed a total of 3 nights at this establishment. I was impressed, the room was very clean, the pool area was very nice. The only negative thing in my view was that the coffee in the morning at the free breakfast was rather weak. With that being said I would definitely recommend this establishment if you are traveling to Bend. This establishment was bizarre. Upon walking into the office, it was apparent that the security team was watching two guests having sex on one of the security cameras. When asked why they had cameras in the rooms, they said it was to "find out who brought pets." We have never left an establishment so quickly. Feds need to shut this place down eventually. read more

I had to cancel my participation but he still took the kids and went. Shortly after arrival I get this text, "You would have lost your mind." Referring to the grossness. Then proceeded to send nasty photos he shot of how dirty the room was. Completely unclean including the bedding. Lost $ for the booked night but still moved elsewhere. Lesson learned. I've stayed here multiple times over several years. It has been my "go-to" on my way between my home and the coast. Unfortunately, things changed today. The parking lot filled up over night and when I was ready to leave, I was unable to get my truck out. A very large work van was parked very close to me and a truck with a trailer was behind me. I was unable to back up far enough to clear the van beside me. After 20 minutes of trying, I went in and asked the employee at the front desk for help. She was unsure of what to do. She was at the end of her shift and the woman relieving her entered and said she would handle it. After they spend about 10 minutes going over their change of shift business, I waited and then the manager entered. The night shift employee left while the day shift employee proceeded to tell the manager how the night shift employee "doesn't know how to do anything" which was completely unprofessional. THEN, she points at me and says, "And this lady doesn't know how to drive and can't seem to get her truck out of the parking lot without help". I was gobsmacked. The manager asked what I needed and I explained. She told me I would just have to wait until someone woke up and moved their car. So I waited for an hour. Then I went back in to ask again for them to call the owner of the van and when I walked in, the front desk employee (who was wearing sweats and has tattoos on her face), said "oh here she is-the one who's too old to drive her own car"! Mind you-I'm only 55. And I'm pissed. This woman was not only mean, she was aggressive. The manager allowed her to behave this way towards me and I'm appalled. In fact, the manager was only slightly less mean. It goes without saying that I will never stay here again. It is clear that something has changed in either ownership or maybe there is a new general manager. In any case, allowing your staff to behave so blatantly nasty is unacceptable. The unprofessional appearance of the employees made it clear that ownership isn't concerned with a professional appearance and if they allow their employees to treat their guests this way, they aren't concerned with return guests either. I wasn't able to leave until the van owner woke up and moved on his own-no thanks to any help from the staff. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Dang, should have read recommendations before booking here. Stayed here as we were meeting family member here. It is pretty much as other reviews state. Old, dirty, sticky carpets. After checking into room clothes rack falling off the wall. They couldn't fix it so moved to another room. Couch obviously had cats in room before as scratch tear marks on front of couch. This could be an average 3 star rating hotel... Average for what you should expect as soon as you drive in. The lobby is very dated, the canopy that you drive under is falling down and the walk to all the rooms is stained and dirty... so, OK it's a motel you park your car right at your door...I didn't expect much. They claim in a large sign on the street that it is 100% smoke free...wrong! The doors to all the rooms have a pretty no smoking sign on them... But, the smokers stand right outside the door smoking. Since the doors to the rooms are next to each other, all his/her smoke goes right into your room. When I left, I smelled like smoke in the car, even after taking a shower. They do claim that there is free wi-fi, but it is horrid. I was staying only a few doors down from the office, (and across from the pool...see below), and the wi-fi was so slow, web pages kept timing out. In this day and age, you would think a motel would have up-to-date internet access, especially in a tourist based town like bend. Then, are there no rules for loud music outside? A few guest in the pool had a radio blasting away, then a group of guest decided that they wanted to blast their truck music in front of their room to compete. Even with the door closed, the two were so loud, it drowned out my TV. The maids were very friendly and nice, and the girl at the desk early in the morning seem pleasant. It's just a Days Inn, so don't go getting all excited. But I have to say, it's very clean and spacious and affordable. The room has a fridge and microwave and sofa and table--almost like a mini-suite. They have a pool and a hot tub too (granted its sort of in the parking lot, so don't go getting too romantic). Complimentary breakfast was also much better than I expect at this price point. Instead of the gooey self-serve waffle station and hard boiled eggs typical of economy motels, they had scrambled eggs, sausage, French toast, and some sort of tortilla wrapped thing-a-ma-jigs with beans, rice and sausage in them. For a cheap place to stay fairly close to downtown it's hard to beat. read more

While the area was kinda sketch with what I assumed was migrant workers holding up signs to work along with the homeless a block away, we walked into our room and at first glance looked like an okay room but the couch had tons of stains from... you can guess.. the bed also had stains.. it totally grossed us out we left. A little uncertain if this is a one or two star property. C'mon, thing is a motel - probably 1960's - so quite unfair to blame the current owner/management for the fact that the place is noisy (hearing car doors slam as folks check in at night). But in case you haven't thought about it, the lower price point AND this no-hallway-1960s-motel design is pretty certain to attract a certain kind of guest. In our case in mid-April is was quite a few groups of licensed trade guys visiting Bend for work. That meant that there was lots of smoking and vaping and socializing right outside our door at all hours. The rooms are heated and cooled by wall units that suck air from exactly the place the guys were smoking. And that meant that when we opened the motel door our room smelled like half a dozen German Shephards had been playing poker and smoking cigars for about a week. We spent the night and thanked our very polite hosts. And I should mention that the rooms either have recently been renovated or are under renovation now (another source of noise when we visited). They really are trying hard to upgrade this property. But they do need, I think, to make some significant changes to address the smell, and police the smoking and noise if they want their property upgrades to pay off. read more

Concrete parking spot barrier in front of my room was painted black with three white stripes in the middle, and I tripped over the black end of it at night since the black ends of it were camouflaged against the black parking lot. I fell flat on my face and scratched my glasses and banged up my nose, chin, and knee on the way to my daughter's wedding. The front desk clerk did not apologize and handed me one small bandaid and told me to call Wyndham when I told him I should get my room comped since it was a safety concern. Not living up to their motto of safely being a top priority. Customer service is obviously not a priority either. DOES NOT CLEAN/SANITIZE. CLEARLY OVERBOOKED AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT LEAVING GUESTS STRANDED WITHOUT A ROOM OVER A HOLIDAY WEEKEND. DIDNT EVEN REFUND ME THE FULL AMOUNT. I had made a reservation for 7/03-7/05 and arrived around 10pm to check in that Friday. It was a quick check-in for room 238. We got to the room only to find that it was filled with other people's bag and clothes - someone(/s) was clearly staying there. The exchange that followed with the office was alarming: She asked, "Was it just dirty or did it have people's stuff in there?" - Extra sanitation was actually advertised on their site and their board. Why is this even a question during a pandemic? It was our first overnight trip of the year still feeling guilty and concerned over the virus developments, and we had gotten some reassurance from their advertisements and association with Wyndham. She said that the room had been checked out this morning yet nobody had even checked or cleaned the room. They were booked for the weekend and I guess to her credit, she did check their sister properties and they were full as well. It was Friday night on 4th of July weekend - a few people even stopped by while I was in the office to check if they had any rooms available. Understanding that we had run out of lodging options I asked about Saturday's night (since my reservation was for the whole weekend), and she said she could cancel and refund me and I would have to make a new reservation for Saturday. When asked about how I can be sure that they have actually cleaned the room, she mentioned that actually they don't have a room available if room 238 will still be staying there. She gave me a refund and said she couldn't see if other places had rooms available and recommended I try the nearby motels. She and I both knew that they wouldn't have any room available. My partner and I looked online for other lodging options and only saw 3 $250+/night options which we couldn't afford (hence why we made the (still high for that place) $115/night reservation at the Days Inn). We drove out to the National Forest and tried to sleep in the car, not having any camping gear or even a jacket or blanket for the 35 degree weather we encountered. Needless to say, we did not sleep. There are so many problems - Why advertise the cleaning/sanitizing? Why is there zero accountability for leaving people stranded over a holiday weekend? Luckily we are from Portland in our late 20s/early 30s and just drove back the next day. But what if it had been an out of town family? Who physically cannot all fit/sleep in their car? What if room 238 had people in there when we had gone in? One doesn't expect to have random strangers intruding in their room when they rent a room. Yes, we got some monetary refund (NOT THE WHOLE AMOUNT?!?) but what about the time that we've lost and the weekend's plans? It's so frustrating that a place that offers "clean" rooms during a pandemic (with no other amenities since in a pandemic) can't even do just that. read more

There's a really pretty section of Bend--beautiful landscaping, waterways, cool little shops and cafes. The Days Inn is in the other part--fast food places, ugly streets, just general crap. Bend is one of those places where everything costs more, and the Days Inn in Bend is an example of folks working with what they've got to bring a reasonably priced service. The staff here are really nice, but the property leaves a lot to be desired. This is an old motel--I'm guessing built in the 1970s or so--and it shows. The place is kind of run down, and the management here is working with what it has. But, try as they might, a turkey is still a turkey. The rooms have worn-down carpet and mediocre bedding. It's not that you can't sleep there, it's just that you don't have any real desire to stay there. It also appears to be the favored lodging for high school/college kids or just general dude-bros making a trip to Bend, so don't be surprised to hear some late-night yelling or find a shirtless group smoking a j on the balcony. (It is Oregon, after all.) The inn offers breakfast with your stay, and it's the standard powdered-eggs-and-watery-sausage fare that you've had, if you've ever stayed at one of these cut-rate places. It's not very good, at all, but it will get you out the door. The long and short of it is that if you are going to Bend with an intention of spending any significant time in a hotel room, don't stay here. I was here for three nights, and it was serviceable--and I spent every day hiking in the area--but I would probably not do it again.
