The room was non- smoking but reeked like 12 chain smokers live there , that was the best part . At least the stale smoke smell covered up the horrid smell of everything else. There was very little light in the room , which upon further inspection was most assuredly intentional. The room was in bad repair , the bed skirt was filthy , the very worn thin cover on the bed was all that was there for cover besides the stained sheet with burn holes in it . I'm pretty sure that's still the comforter and sheets from 1980. The bed skirt definitely had not been washed since then , it looked like had survived a zombie apocalypse, most of the stains on It were pretty unidentifiable, which in retrospect was probably a blessing. Thank goodness I had an extra bottle of bath and body works body spray . I sprayed almost the whole thing so that I could hopefully fall asleep with smelling anything related to the room . I have to come back to Morehead again soon , I however will not be staying here . I mean a night at the bates motel would have been the only thing worse . If you decide to stay here , then channel your inner zombie hunter energy and may the odds be in your favor ! read more

All the other reviews have said it for me, i had to leave as soon as i entered, the smell of cigarettes was so strong even though i requested a non smoking room, to top it off we ordered 2 rooms but we only got 1 room and it smelled of cigarettes and the other room we waited until 8pm and still hadn't received in the end we had to go find another hotel and luckily we found another hotel, i can't imagine not finding another hotel after 8pm read more

Check in was easy. Down hill from there. Pictures show what we walked into. I will say the bathroom was clean, but cigarette burns and stains all over the beds. Door was sticky and very hard to open. Initially sheets were stained so we asked for new ones, we were told "all the sheets will have burns holes because that's the type of hotel it is" she also told us there is no house keeping and hasn't been for months so that makes wonder who and how are these rooms/bedding being cleaned.) She did offer us new sheets (which also had stains) or a refund so that we could find somewhere else to stay. We could not do so as there was an event in town and no other places had availability. My advice, just pay the extra for another place or check Airbnb which has equivalent prices. My mistake for not checking reviews and last minute booking. read more

My horrible experience with the lady that worked on Thursday May 9th until 11pm. I've stayed at this same hotel several times. We always come through the CLC lodging. We do not possess the CLC cards, but they always send a crew fax and there is a specific way to check CLC's in. I stay at a hotel for work 300 days of the year so I have become familiar to this process and can nearly do it myself if needed. I was a late check in and arrived at 10:28pm I walked in and I was immediately asked "Do you have a reservation" Me " Yes, I'm a CLC that's coming The lady then asked for the CLC card. I told her I did not have this card but they should If send her a crew fax with all the details on it She proceeds to tell me she can not check me in without the CLC card. I again politely explained to her, you should have a crew fax and once you start checking me in, you'll see that the room is paid, when checked in" She then told me she did not know what a crew fax was. So I automatically thought, oh. She may be new so I asked her if she had a manager she could call, so they can walk her through the process. She got rude and said NO she is in India. I said. Ok, can you check the crew fax and maybe that will have details on how to check me in. She said No. I don't know what a crew fax is and I can't check you in without the CLC card. I remained calm and asked her where the other lady was that checked me in 2 weeks ago, when she replied "what does it matter, we can't check you in". I politely said, it matters because she knows exactly how to check me in with the crew fax and the process because she's checked me in several times before" she then gets offended and says "do you not think I know how to do my f****** job". I said No Ma'm I did not say that. I just know there is a specific way to check me in and the other lady was able to do it the last FEW times I've stayed here recently. Can you please call her and see if she can walk you through the process. I'm trying to contact CLC while this conversation is happening, thinking maybe I'm wrong and it was a simple mistake. I asked again politely if there was anyone she could call to help her check me in when she again was very rude to me and said "I'm not going back and forth with you, you can just find another hotel". At this point, I had to walk away to remain calm and continuing calling CLC Travel services. While on the phone with them, they are telling me they are sending the CREWFAX again so I can be check in. I hear the lady say to the gentleman "Good LUCK"'and she got in her car and left. I'm setting in my car on the phone with CLC when the gentleman says. "Can I help you". I said. Do you know how to check a CLC in with a crew fax and he said. Yes. I gave him my name outside the hotel. I walked in a few minutes behind the gentleman and he said "hey got you checked in" I said. Great!! How did you do it because the lady before you said she couldn't check me in. And he said "I've seen her do this before, I'm not sure why she refused to check you in" I'm not sure why she acted so rude about it and did not want to check me in. I stayed calm and remained polite the entire time, because it's possible it was a simple mistake but she would not even consider anything I mentioned to help solve the issue. I will be contacting the owner of this hotel to let him know how rude and disrespectful his one employee is. If she can not do her job properly, then why is she even working here? And if she knows her job, why is she refusing service to someone and not doing her job. The gentleman and the other lady I found out name was Kathy had been absolutely amazing to us. But this Kayle girl that worked Thursday night was a rude and disrespectful, and almost lost the owner business. Again! Kathy and the gentleman I dealt with later and several times before are absolutely amazing and I could not ask for a better experience with them. I finally was checked in at 11:15ish. Believe me when I say that this is the worst hotel I have ever seen open for business. We booked this place because it looked so nice in the photos and we wanted to swim in the pool that was pictured on the site. They were non-apologetic about the pool being close. They also have the lobby closed b/c it's in disrepair. Stairs, balconies and exterior ceilings could fall at anytime. Elevator closed. Fire suppression systems are over 2 years past due. Friendly front desk lady and a respectable continental breakfast. Room was ok. Beds were cheap but adequate. Room was just enough, but no frills. AC unit was noisy enough to drown out one of the snorers in the room. For the money ($84 with taxes), it was a good night's stay. The Holiday Inn Express next door was booked so i stopped in here. Room was stinky, dirty, and there were people hanging out in front of my room/door. The parking space directly in front of my room was taken up by visitors of the people hanging out in front of my door :(. Bathroom floor had a film on it and was clearly dirty (floor sort of caving in with visible dirt and some kind of reddish stain-gross). Cobwebs by the bed and in the window. Pennies on the floor just next to the bed. Walls dirty with the wall paper split and stained in some places. Lamp shades all yellow/brown :( This poor room was sad all over the place. With all the above i called and asked if i could return the key and find other arrangements and they did oblige with no charge (Thank you!!). I don't think i would have gotten a wink of sleep in this place. Ended up checking into Quality Inn across the street which was definitely an improvement but next time i will be sticking to Holiday Inn or looking for a La Quinta. read more

We were forced to stay here when we made a last minute trip to this town but all the other hotels in town were booked due to a baseball tournament in town. I'm honestly surprised we didn't get bed bugs or scabies from this place. It was awful. The whole frickin' place was gross. It was plainly evident that not a single dime has been spent on it's upkeep. Even the front desk lady made a comment about how the Indian guy who owns the place is a cheapskate who won't spend any money on improving the place. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere. I arrive around 2 a.m. and have a guinea pig with me so was happy when the woman at the front desk said my piggy could stay with me. I had noticed on the Yelp app that the cost for a room was probably about $51. However I was charged $102 for a room that had carpeting that was messed up, cigarette burns in the blankets, the bottom of the inside of the bathroom door scuffed-up, the bathroom floor with sticky, and though it was sufficient for place to crash before getting up the next morning and continuing on to my destination, it was not worth $102. If it were $51, it'd be a completely different story. The free breakfast wasn't even worth the cost. The only thing I saw was oatmeal, apples, I couldn't tell if it was iced tea or apple juice, I think orange juice, hot beverages, individually wrapped small danishes, individually wrapped white and wheat bread. The woman who checked me in at 2 a.m. was outgoing, friendly, and happy I was there. The woman that was at the front desk in the morning didn't even stand up to look over the desk to see who walked in the lobby - both times I entered. If I were staying there more than one night, the positive of the room is that it included a small refrigerator, small freezer, and a small microwave. And of course of coffee maker which a lot of hotel room seem to have these days. However, they charge twice what they should for the room. read more
