Honestly, I took a leap of faith when I hired Rebecca to take our engagement photos, but I couldn't…read morebe happier! We were only in Seattle a couple days and the photographer we initially hired could not make it at the last minute. We were disappointed, but she had recommended Rebecca as a replacement. Not only was Rebecca able to shoot us on a few hours notice, she was extremely flexible and accommodating (she drove through the horrible rush-hour traffic so I could get my shots in both Issaquah and Seattle). Fiance and I aren't very comfortable in front of the camera, put Rebecca immediately but us at ease. She's friendly, funny, and easy to work with. She has a great eye and helped set-up some great shots without making us look too posed or cheesy. She even went out of her way to lay on the ground and run into traffic in order to get a great shot. We had a lot of fun working with her, and it made the time fly by. When I saw the pictures she took of us, I was amazed. However, I received no compensation or discount for it, I don't expect to be doing business with them soon that would get me that discount, and I stand by it as true and genuine.] I was in charge of finding the photographer, and my wife was really angry about me wanting her to meet "just one more" -- until she actually met Dan DeLong and saw his work. We knew he was what we were looking for, and they were competitively priced compared to other shops out there (especially once you factored in the skill). Dan photographed our entire day, from getting ready at the hotel, to a wedding on the water in September sunshine, to wandering through the galleries of a local museum. We just did our album (finally!) in 2011, and every time we look at these photos, it almost makes us cry. He perfectly captured the excitement, the romance, the playfulness of our friends' children and the settings, and all the emotion we wish we could bottle from the most perfect day of our lives together. I loved the PI and miss it, but the one good thing about its demise is that it created RedBox. These guys have spent years practicing their craft and learning to capture fleeting moments that tell a story, and we would recommend them to anyone.

We really wanted a photojournalist to capture the candid moments of our day, and we got exactly what we were looking for. (Dan is a former photographer with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. So are the other three who work at Red Box Pictures). I can't tell you how much fun it was to get the pictures back and see all the little things we missed during that blur-of-the-day. Dan came to the resort to photograph me and my girls as we got ready, and somehow managed to get back to the wedding site to get my husband getting ready as well. He didn't miss any detail throughout the day and night. He was also very personable, easy to work with and spent a good deal of time consulting with us about what we wanted. He even helped us sort out the timing of events so we'd get the best light and best photographs in the outdoors (we got married with the North Cascades in the background).
