I made an appt with Lori Ramirez to have a manicure done. ( I was in the market for a new nail gal). She had to do a soak off of my nails I did not realize this whole experience was going to take 4 hours! I asked if she could do freehand art. I was told she wasn't t very good at it, I still chose to continue my appt very long story short my nails look awful, the cuticles aren't clean, my nails are to thick and the Sticker she put on was sideways. My nails weren't an even length. I didn't realize this until I got home. On Saturday, I proceeded to text her and let her know that I was not happy with the job and could she please thin them out? Her excuse was that she had no available times as she also works a full-time job. Then I was told because they were thicker as To keep them from breaking. Before I had noticed the poor job done we had made an appt. for two weeks, over our text conversations Lori proceeds to tell me she has to cancel the date of our next appt as she has a prior commitment. ( she looked at her calendar to make the appt) and won't have anything until the end of September. Who goes six weeks with nails? I told her that was unacceptable.Lori lead me to believe I had an appt on August 29th and then told me that I did not have an appt. Because I did not leave a deposit. I was never asked for another deposit. At that point she blocked me on Instagram, as well as on the phone as we were texting each other. Now, I would report her to the boss however she is riding under the bosses licenses for becoming a hair dress. And the boss is the owner of the business. So, I say beware when deciding to go with Lori Ramirez for pedicures, nails, or hairstyles. read more

I've been getting my hair done by Lawrence for almost two years! Since the beginning, he has ALWAYS explained what he will be doing during the process and why (even if i don't understand lol). Lawrence has exceeded my expectations every time and he's great to make conversation with! **I've learned about the hair color wheel - purple and yellow cancel each other out, so using purple on brassy hair can restore its former & brighter color. Also! A lot of inspo pics found on the internet usually have a filter so the outcome can be different from the expectation. Unfortunately, I came into some financial difficulties and needed to cancel my appointment (which was still scheduled two weeks out at time of cancelation). Omar's facials @ OmieOeuvreBeauty!!!! First of all, this salon is gorgeous. I've been in plenty of salons in my life and this one has one of the best aesthetics and vibe. Love all the decor, and in the back there is further rooms for more individuals businesses, specifically OmieOeuvreBeauty, an esthetician Omar's business and let me tell you.... I've also had plenty of facials in Bakersfield with well known businesses (won't say any names) and NONE have been like the one Omar was able to give me. He doesn't just give you a suitable facial to your needs, but he talks to you, gives you information on the products he uses, gives advice during/after the facial plus maintenance advice, and actually reviews your skin's condition every time you come in. I've had about 4 facials so far so I have patiently waited for this review. I am not kidding, I developed acne as an adult and in panic mode have used all kinds of products to get rid of it. Instead of trying to sell me products, Omar has given me honest advice to reset my skin, let go of the harsh products, and be kind to it. He has catered each facial to the condition of my face at that time and my acne has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. I mean like occasional blemishes now. He also gives the BEST pressure point massages WITH the price of your facial and thats something hardly any esthetician will include in their full service. I called to make an appointment, I was referred to Mckena. I was there for 5 hours and I left with over toned hair that was so many different colors, a month later my hair is still so many different colors that other hairstylist won't even touch it to fix it because of how much she damaged it. On top of the horrible unmatched hair I have been walking around with embarrassed out of my life, she also spent the appointment bashing the hairstylist methods who had previously done my hair, even though my hair was all one color besides for my out growth and healthy. she should not be working on blonde hair. read more
