I only had a breve cortado during each of my three visits, but every one was exceptional, and the accompanying glass of sparkling water was a really nice touch. I drink cortados all the time, and it's usually hit or miss whether the shot will be more bitter than I'd like, but Harbinger's was consistently exceptionally smooth with no hint of bitterness. They also had a great pastry selection, including a surprisingly good range of gluten-free options. The staff was inviting, and the space was well-appointed. Definitely recommend!

I stayed a little while to work, and found that they had good wifi and I was able to find a private enough spot to work w/o distraction. This does seem like the kind of place where people meet to network. I expect I'll stop by again (probably on my dogs' grooming schedule).

When we first stumbled upon Dazbog we were in love, huge fan of their blended, specialty drinks. My husband & I went at least once a week, often more, spending way more money than I care to say. One afternoon I walked in, found a seat and waited for my husband to join me. In less than 5 minutes I was approached by the owner, K, and asked very rudely what I was doing, if I planned to order anything. I guess he did not recognize me although we have chatted with him multiple times while on our regular visits. It was a little intimidating and hurtful to have to explain my presence in a coffee shop that I had highly recommended to others and often frequented. I always order my frozen coffee sugar free & skinny. One afternoon I waited in a rather long line to order my regular,SF/SK/Almond Joy. I realized immediately that it was not what I ordered. Tasted like the Chai tea the woman in front of me had ordered. I took one more sip to be sure and felt my cheeks begin to burn, I do not drink/eat sugar and this drink certainly had plenty. I felt horrible but this drink is expensive (I even called my husband for advice) so I went back and politely mentioned that I had received the wrong drink. Once again the owner, K, was at the register. As I explained he looked at me with disgust, I told him it tasted like Chai and he said that was impossible (?). He then *grabbed* my drink and threw it away, and went on to totally disregard me. I stood off to the side while he took multiple orders, after an awkward 10 min he had the trainee make my drink and kept making comments about how this is what had been done before and loudly explaining that it had no Chai. I felt horrible and embarrassed by Their Mistake!! I hadn't asked for my money back, or acted put out, I tried to be very friendly, I just wanted my drink. That is the last time I will go into any of the Northern CO franchises. K owns all of them and he is very pompous, I will not support his endeavors. Side Note: I had begun to realize that I no longer recognized any of the baristas, it seems that he can't keep anyone in there for long, Also, I agree, not kid friendly. Let me save you a HORIBLE experience Not only was the drink different to what I ordered but when the Barista tried to make it right for me, she and I got attacked by the jerk who claimed to be the owner. A man called Kay. I guess he has a chip on his shoulder because his parents gave him a girl's name. So, I contacted corporate. A Liz, responded and here is a snippet of her response: "we do not own the store that you visited. We have no control over Mr Campbell. We do receive a number of complaints about him and can only apologize on behalf of the Dazbog name" .... "our owners are investigating methods to disassociate the Dazbog Name from C-cubed that is using the name in Larimer county" WOW! So, not only does Kay suck, corporate seem to dislike him and are 100% willing to throw him under the bus. So, bad coffee, bad customer service and bad corporate backup. Rudest Barista's in town. They all use the same stock "what are your plans" catch phrase the demonstrates that they do not care and are just reading a script. I decided to try and get passed that so I asked the Barista her name and she refused to give it to me. No wonder that they don't post their names or wear badges. But, it's a coffee shop, so what about the coffee, the internet and the atmosphere. Coffee is really expensive and tasteless, Internet does not connect reliably . Music too loud Coffee too expensive Couch has cigarette burns and pee stains Walls are chipped Worst of all they do not respect customers. They regard it as a war with the customers. I made a simple request, I was the only customer there ( I know why now), that they turn down the blaring music. WOW - that opened a string of abuse and a lecture on how I did not understand service. The noisiest place I have ever been. No atmosphere whatsoever. Barista was VERY NICE but new and had no idea what she was doing. She explained to me, that this was the case and that the other one would be back in a moment. When the other Barista came back he explained to me that he had no options, the owners did not trust the managers at all and that this was why no staff ever stayed for very long. Can only describe the manager, K, as abusive. Nothing else matters. When the manager is rude, dismissive, self-important and an all-around jerk, nothing else matters. Someone suggested that I called corporate to complain about him, they said Dazbog's in Denver are great. accidentally went to this store. Did not realize it was the same ownership and rude management as the other ones. Avoid all DAZBOGs They have the rudest manager, no working wifi, no clean, unchipped, uncracked cups and VERY poor coffee. I have since discovered that the coffee that they do have is the only store in town that does not use "fair trade" so by supporting them you are oppressing coffee plantation workers too read more

The coffee is not bad. Not good - but no bad. The problem is that the place is laid out so badly that there is no way you feel comfortable there. Add to that the fact that all the food items are stale and over-priced and that the owner is rude and this is somewhere to be avoided read more

Sometimes they offer the choice of two different roasts for their espresso drinks, which I've never seen before anywhere else, ever. Stop reading here if that's all you need to know. Today. I order a Smokey Mocha (they also have a regular Mocha on the menu). Side note. It's really hard to screw up a mocha. At its most basic it's hot chocolate with shots of espresso. Even with bad or mediocre espresso shots there's usually enough milk and chocolate to cover it up. On the flipside, it's really hard to make a mocha that stands out from the crowd. (Spoiler-Dark Heart surpasses all that mocha mediocrity). Rewind. The first time I went to Dark Heart a couple years ago, a menu item caught my attention. The Smokey Mocha. My friend and I asked what it was. The barista at the register smiled and gave us her sales pitch. Something she'd obviously done many times and still didn't seem to mind doing. My friend and I were both sold as we each ordered one. After I was done with my Smokey Mocha, I wanted to order another. Unfortunately, we were coffee cafe hopping and had four more stops. When I got home, I started gushing about my Smokey Mocha to the SO and anyone else who would listen. Fast forward back to today. I order the 8-ounce Smokey Mocha for here. My drink has a nice heart design with a generous amount of black lava sea salt sprinkled on top. I smell notes of cocoa, but I can't tell if it's from the espresso (Relentless blend) or the cocoa powder. With every sip I take, I taste warm sweet (from cane sugar and maple syrup) mocha that ends with a touch of salt. The smoked paprika is an afterthought. I savor my drink, but I reach the bottom of my mug much too quickly. I swirl the mug to get the last dregs of salt and cocoa powder (single origin cocoa powder from the Philippines according to the barista). As I drive away, I can taste the salt on my llips, and I still feel the astringency of the cocoa powder in my mouth. This is no ordinary mocha drink. The Dark Heart Smokey Mocha has no equal.
