It is a trailer with a smoker in the back and food prep room in the front, flying the US and Texas flags. I tried the three meat plate with brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. For the sides, they were out of potato salad so I had the beans and coleslaw. The meats are clearly cooked low and slow because they fell apart with a spoon. The only real negative with the meat was that the rub was too salty. The sides were good, but the meats were better. The bbq sauce on the side was excellent, with a peppery flavor. As long as Norm's Smokewagon is in Bryan it's going to be playing second fiddle to Fargo's, but if Norm's sets up shop in College Station then it will be the best BBQ in CS. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket and sliced pork belly. I loved the flavor of the pork belly. It was cooked well, and the outside had a savory, yet sweet taste that was so good. The brisket I had and the sausage and ribs my husband had were average and not memorable. The pickled onions helped them taste better. I appreciated the monthly side special - green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole. Both were delicious and quite filling. My husband liked the mashed potatoes he selected. My child, who normally eats all the French fries first left quit a few, so I'm guessing the tenders tasted better. As for the customer service, hardly anyone behind the line or at the register looked like they wanted to be there. The girls at the register charged us for an extra cup although a small one came with the kid's meal. Then the music. I expected country music (even though I'm not a huge country music fan). Rock music was playing, and while I love Stone Temple Pilots, hearing "Creep" around Noon at a restaurant on a Sunday morning was different. If I come back to C&J's, I'll probably head to a different location.

An awesome little food truck right outside the Zachry Engineering Building from 11 am to 2 pm!…read more While I've eaten here many times, I almost exclusively get the "Combo #3 Taco Plate" with steak (3 tacos with your choice of meat + lettuce + cheese). The flavor in the steak is unparalleled and the texture is very crispy! I haven't explored the other menu options but I can't imagine there's anything more glorious than the Taco Plate with steak (haha). The best time to go is probably around 1 pm when everyone is still in class so you miss the lunch "rush hour" (~10 min waiting time). If you go right at 12 pm, expect a 20-minute waiting time minimum! I will say it's a tad pricy (~$11 including tax) but you can use your dining dollars and it's a nice treat, especially after doing well on a test :). Additionally, the food is a little oily so make sure you're not wearing a suit or nice clothes, although they do have napkins. Lastly, there are usually plenty of seats in the quad area surrounding Zach. It can get hot in the summer, especially at noon, so be sure to bring a hat! Personally, my favorite time to go is in the Fall when the temperature drops and the breeze picks up: it's very wholesome sitting on the quad while a light zephyr keeps you company as you contemplate the meaning of life.

She complained to every person who ordered, so when you stood in line for 30 minutes, you got to hear it PLENTY of times. Really ruined the vibe. When we finally got our food (wait was long, but we are used to that with food trucks), I was seriously disappointed that instead of the beef I asked for in my nachos, I was given ground turkey. Not cool. That is something you definitely can't switch out and hope people don't notice. The nachos ended up having absolutely no flavor. Tacos were also very greasy. Food trucks on campus are a great idea, but I expect decent food for the price!

Excellent & inexpensive BBQ and truly exceptional people make C&C BBQ out on Smetana Rd a "Must Do!!!" stop in the area. Your taste buds will be happier and your day will be brighter for it. You can thank me later. Top Line: As is typical on my BBQ road tripping, most eateries in the College Station & Bryan TX got a single visit to check out their vittles & their digs. It takes someplace special to draw a second visit. In the College Station & Bryan area, that place was C&C BBQ. An alternative BBQ joint got slid down the schedule to make time for the second round at C&C on Sunday, since they are currently only open on Sat & Sun. Charles's touch with his smoker is exquisite. The smoke note in the meat is not sharp, edgy, or acrid. His smoke flavor comes out round, balanced, full, velvety, and smooth. His rub has enough peppery snap to give it character, without being harsh or aggressive. Again, balanced and masterful. Ribs on the first visit were meaty, arriving trimmed quite free of fat. This gave the smoke excellent access to the meat, which took it up very nicely. Brisket sandwich on my second trip west was very, very tender and wonderfully juicy. It was a 4-napkin sandwich! That indicates just how tender & moist it was. And it was equally tasty, exhibiting like the ribs Charles's mastery of his craft. Sides are limited to four items: potato salad, whole kernel corn, green beans, pinto beans. Potato salad has a slight hit of pickle juice jumping it up a bit. Corn with diced tomatoes has a bit of bite & snap to it, setting the corn apart from its usual semi-blandness. The green beans were very tender & seemed to have butter dancing in the mix, which made them more flavorful. The pinto beans were rich in flavor due to having some shredded meat added in. Their texture was on the mark as well. Banana pudding was the weakest link in my estimation. The taste was pretty typically sweet banana pudding flavor, which is not a bad thing. The texture, while being smooth & creamy as pudding should be, struck me as being a bit too moist. The vanilla wafers cookies had gotten soggy from the pudding, so there was no crunch or solidity contrast to the creamy pudding. Cost for this Nirvana of BBQ heaven was mondo cheap (see picture), particularly given the extremely tasty food. C&C BBQ is not only some of the very best BBQ in the area, it is also amazingly high value eating due to it's miniscule prices. Also, kudos to them for having a bathroom on premises to clean up in after your (over) indulgence. But to only mention the quality & cost of the food is to tell the lesser part of the story. The greatest part about eating at C&C is the bright, shining, positive, effusive, enthusiastic, sunshiny, uplifting personalities of Charles & Carol. These two folks radiate joy & happiness at an astronomical level. To hang out with this pair while downing such good BBQ makes your visit a jewel among the days of your life. So head west from Bryan TX to the junction of Hwy 21 & Smetana Rd to get your own shot of sunshine from Charles & Carol and a chowdown of their bodacious BBQ.
