I have had a problem with one of my 2 garage doors. These are in a garage approaching 35 years old. One of the doors would only go up about 3 feet then stop. I did the few things I know to do to see what might be wrong with no result. I then watched a youtube to see how to clean a garage door system. Mine is old and the rollers and other parts looked it. I cleaned and lubricated and then saw that one of the springs was broken. I called DC and they had a repairman out in 2 days (I told them not urgent). The repairman was great did an inspection and told me all my options, including replacement. I opted for repair and it opens and closed better than I ever remember it working. I needed to get the bottom seal on my garage door replaced. I found an ad for DC Garage Door on Craigslist and immediately contacted them after checking out their website. After leaving a message I got a call back from Dan who went over the cost of replacing the seal. He was available to come out the next day. I told him I would need him to come out in the morning. I was pleasantly surprised the next morning to get a call around 7:50 AM saying he was on his way. He was very nice and stated it would take a half hour to put up the new seal. After finishing the seal he noted that my right lift cable was very rusty and he pointed out one day it may snap. It was one of those things that is a crap shoot whether to wait on fixing or to repair while he's there. I rolled the dice and told him to make the repair. He replaced both the left and right cables and the bottom door fixtures. Overall I was happy with the work and I was able to take advantage of their current Yelp offer which saved me $50. read more

Door is beautiful. Installation was on time and done well. Didn't like when he told me my old opener was noisy - as he hit the metal ladder all the time the door was going up - so yes it was noisy. Guess he thought a woman wouldn't notice. Clean up wasn't the greatest - sharp pieces of metal left near the door. He programmed the key pad opener outside my garage door, but never tested it so it didn't work because it wasn't compatible with the new door opener he installed. read more

If you are looking for troubles and argument, you call the DC GARAGE DOOR. I bought two garage doors openers. One 1&1/4 horse power for double garage door and a second 1/2 horse for single garage door. They installed the opener with smaller power on the double garage door and the opener with the bigger power on the single garage door. When I called them to come to switch the openers, they said I have to pay them to do that. Also the rail trackers for the double garage door were forced to reach the hangers which caused them to be bended upward and cause the door to ratel at closing. Also it's belt was sagging on one side and tight on the other side. So many problems and so many arguments. Finally, I hade to accept the damage in the bottom section of the double garage door as a trade in to fix those problem. I never ever recommend the D.C. GARAGE DOOR for any one. read more

Great service and courteous, professional technician. Called early this morning, described situation, which they diagnosed on the phone was probably a broken spring, and gave me a 12-2 window. This was great as we were moving in to this house today and the access through the garage was critical. At 1115 I got a call that the tech was clearing his call and would be at the house in an hour or so. He arrived promptly, confirmed the broken spring, and 8n under an hour the door was fixed. Not sure if price was good or not, what was important was getting the door fixed. $265 total which I thought was reasonable. Nick was the tech, pleasant, clean cut, diligent worker.
