Outstanding shop. The artist are phenomenal. Aron did my throat tatt and he was super professional and he took so much attention to detail. I'm extremely impressed by these guys. I've been around tatt shops since I was 16. [36 now]From Guam to Hawaii Texas Vegas and the bay. Hands down DC Tattoo is the best of the best. The shop is super clean. You can tell by their restroom. Every shop I've been to has had a nasty ass restroom. That's another way I judge a shop. I always ask to use the restroom and see how clean or not clean it is. The pricing is super fair. They didn't try to rip me off like other places. I walked in got a consultation and a quote. In the end I paid less than my quote. So I tipped the rest of the money I expected to pay. I love this place!! I have four tattoos. The latest one that I got at DC was technically my 5th but it is a cover-up. Out of all the places I have ever been tatted at, this one is my favorite! Since I was getting a rib piece, I really wanted to go somewhere good since it is such a sensitive spot on the body. My dad told me to go to DC since he had been tatted there before and said he would pay for it as long as I didn't go anywhere else. That is how much he loves it!! Brian did my tattoo and he did an amazing job!! He covered up my old tattoo well and made the new tattoo fit the contour of my hips and ribs beautifully. Brian's knowledge of color combination and body composition was really helpful in creating a solid tattoo. It was not one of those situations where an artist just slaps some ink onto you. Brian really put a lot of thought into what he was doing. He worked efficiently and quickly, constantly making sure I was comfortable. It takes a while for set-up but it is mostly because Brian was so meticulous about cleanliness. I will never go anywhere else to get tatted!!! read more

I have only lived in the Bay Area for a year so when it came time to get a tattoo I had no idea where to go. I have several tattoos, but had them done in Sacramento. I decided to go to DC Tattoo because they had very good reviews. This tattoo was going to be special because I was getting it with my daughter on her 18th birthday. We walked in a week before her birthday to make an appointment and were greeted by Santos. He said there were no appointments available on her birthday, but that he was willing to come in on his day off so she could get her tattoo on her actual birthday. We made the appointment and gave him an idea of what we wanted. The day of our appointment, Santos showed us the designs he drew for us and both were absolutely amazing. He was very professional and extremely good at what he does. He even touched up an old tattoo for me while I was there. The whole experience was beyond anything I thought it would be. I was looking for an artist to finish my half sleeve after moving across the country and I was extremely fortunate to come across Jason and DC Tattoo (was recommended by a friend with extensive work). Jason is first and foremost an excellent artist and with a sample of his catalog readily available on Instagram, I was able to get a feel for his work pretty quickly. It took him all of ten minutes to consult with me and conceptualize what I wanted. He delivered amazing results and in less time than I had anticipated. For the quality of work, his prices are absolutely reasonable. If you're going to make it permanent, Jason is the guy to see. Also doesn't hurt he can hold a good conversation and is down for answering questions. I'll be back again as soon as I've healed up. read more

My friend from high school got a beautiful bird of paradise flower done by Jason several years ago. I kept him in the back of my mind as the artist I would want if I ever ended up getting a tattoo. So when my mom became terminally ill, I decided that I wanted to get a memorial piece for her. After thinking about exactly what I wanted for over a year I had a consult with Jason about my ideas. I told him that I wanted a humming bird (mom's favorite animal) drinking out of a peruvian lily (mom's favorite flower) with her initials. He wasn't familiar with the particular flower, but did his research. I let him lead me after that as far as actual size and placement on my shoulder, because I figured he knows what he's doing, and I'm so glad that I trusted him. The piece ended up exceeding my expectations and it came out even more beautifully then I could have ever imagined. Jason was extremely helpful answering all my questions, he was extremely sanitary, and he chatted with me through the whole process to keep me distracted, and he's a very interesting guy! They didn't mind that I brought two friends for moral support, and my one friend was so impressed with his work she's even going to have him fix several of her old tattoos. I did a fair amount of research, and his prices might be a little higher than some of the other places I looked into, but it was more than worth it. If something is going to be on my body for all of eternity, I want it to be exactly what I want, perfect, and beautiful. It was worth every penny and then some. All of my friends and family have just fell in love with the piece, and a stranger even came up to me in Safeway to tell me it was the most beautiful tattoo she's ever seen in her life. If/when I decide to get another tattoo I will definitely drive all the way up to Daly City to get the work done by Jason, and wait however many weeks it takes for him to fit me in. Another huge perk is that he is extremely sanitary and cleanly. He won't even let people throw their garbage in the cans in his workspace. The have to use a different garbage can and cannot cross the barrier into the tattoo space. I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else to put a needle to my skin, but I don't worry at all with Jason. He is fabulous, give him your business (just not so much that he can't fit me in anymore). read more

I pretty much came here cuz my brother got his here and I knew of another friend of mind get hers here too. After I went and did my consultation I was convinced I wanted to get it done here. There prices seem more expensive than other tattoo shops but why pay for cheap for something so permanent. This place is SO CLEAN! They use very sterile equipment like what is used in the hospital.. I love my tattoo!!! They also have a pool table, comfortable couch and flat screen for anyone coming in with you for moral support. read more

Last March, a year after having foot surgery, my search began for a tattoo shop to create something pretty to cover my scars. Knowing that this shop has been in business for many years and after reading their numerous 5 star Yelp reviews, my search didn't take long at all. The shop is very clean and the staff is warm and welcoming. Owner Jason's initial design ideas and his subsequent referral to artist Santos led to a beautiful rose vine tattoo placed perfectly over my scars. My foot looks great again! I was so pleased with Santos' artistic talent and his calm demeanor (important when getting a foot tattoo!} that I returned for more work, once for a paisley sun design on my back and then multiple times for an orchid, plumeria, gardenia shoulder cap work of art that is incredibly gorgeous. I was apprehensive about the size of the shoulder tattoo and needed to take baby steps and through it all, Santos was so patient each time I returned with more ideas. He listened and then transformed my thoughts into designs even more incredible than expected. I just absolutely love the final products! The shop is fun and relaxing, lots of joking amongst the artists, great music and conversation. Santos may even entertain you with a bit of his singing, a nice alternative to the sound of the tattoo gun. Jason is a fabulous artist who provided his input during my sessions and his wife Maribel, a great asset to the shop, may ask you that thought provoking question "what's next?" which was one major reason for my recent tattoo frenzy. I just got 6 hours put on to a rib cage tattoo and man i gotta say as painful as it was every hour was worth it. I purchased a gift certificate for my husband and we had tried several times to get an appt and no one was ever available. I walked in there when I bought the certificate and there was no one hardly there. They printed the gift cerificate on a word document. My husband regretfully had to cancel several "consultation appt's" due to his job but we always called in. We finally got a consultation (which was of course to add on more work for more $$) We made an appt for 2p. They called and said it was for 1 or 1:30...Because they claim we were late they REVOKED the 80 gift certificate because they claim to have a "deposit"....We have had good luck with SAN FRANCISCO tattoo shops and this is the first bad encounter with a tattoo shop. We were all told to go to SF for good tats or go to RUBIN's Millbrae but we went with DC Tattoo. THEY HAD TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... I will never ever refer them. I can't believe they revoked his whole gift certificate...talk about being just out right cold...Do you guys actually think you're that good???!!! and you should NEVER talk bad about other tattoo shops like you did at our consultation. read more

He was honest, straightforward and very helpful. And he is a straight up kick ass artist. you feel like they really pay attention and care about what your tattoo will look like. other shops have artists that just want to tat someone and get the money. i gave him some artwork that i wanted to get tatted on me and he didnt just say "yea ill do that"... he gave insight on what he thought the tattoo should look like. he totally customized the artwork and i love it. there is a reason this guy is booked for months, cuz he is the best! the shop and the tattooing was clean and professionally done. you get what you pay for at DC Tattoos.
