I originally scheduled my appointment a few weeks ago at the SF location. I could have gotten my piercing there, but there was only 1 jewelry option for the Daith. Seeing as I would be stuck with the jewelry until it was healed, I wanted something with more bling. So, I was rescheduled to have it done in Burlingame. Fast forward to today. The farmers market is happening on their street, so I had to park a block away. It's also VERY BUSY in the area with all the food places being packed. So, keep that in mind when you schedule an appointment on Sunday. They also close at 3pm. I enter the shop and I am greeted by 2 young ladies and a lot of jewelry options. They have me fill out paperwork, and I look around, pick my jewelry, then we move upstairs to the chair. I sit down, she tells me about the after care. Shows me what it would look like with me holding a mirror. Hands me a stress ball. We're talking, "are you ready?" I say "yeah". And she is piercing my Daith. I feel pressure. I measure it as a 1-2 out of 10 on the pain scale. As I'm writing this, it's been 8 hours. No throbbing, no pain. The whole procedure was quick. Everyone there was super nice. Enthusiastic about me getting my Daith pierced. They didn't try to upsell more piercings or jewelry. What I asked for is what I got. I would give a 4.5, but I've rounded up because I can't give half points. Here is what I would have liked. Maybe a little bit of an explanation of the procedure. While I have obviously been pierced before, it would have been nice to have been offered to be more mentally prepared with step by step of how everything would go, and also along the way. Went for a jewelry cleaning for my nose ring- they had me sign a consent form to allow them to handle my jewelry etc but had me sign the "I confirm I received my jewelry back intact" part before we even started the service (I pointed this out and the receptionist (?) was like yes sign again here just to confirm). The piercer was very sweet but really struggled to get my nose ring out. She used tools and then asked for help from someone else. Overall took like 40 min and had trouble getting it back in too. When I got home I inspected more closely and the nose ring was completely bent out of shape - the seams didn't even match up anymore. When I went to another place to try and fix it that piercer showed me there was scuff marks/dings on the nose ring (in addition to it being bent out of shape) from the tools they used. They are nice and it's a cute shop but I would be wary about piercings here. read more

I got my third lobe piercings by Mattea last Sunday after stopping by the store the day before. I love the aesthetic and the staff seemed cool. Mattea gave me insight on their earring options. She then took me to the piercing station and explained the procedure, gave me a stress ball, counted to 3, and had me take a deep breath at the exact perfect moment. My ears hurt but the process was smooth and I felt really comfortable. She hit the marks she made (and made sure I approved of them beforehand) to ensure even spacing with my other piercings. However, my experience was overshadowed by an uncomfortable interaction with the older woman wearing glasses who works there. When I was about to pay, there was a long line extending to the door so I naturally walked to the end of it. As I was doing so, she said out loud "Excuse me, you're going to have to pay" in front of everyone. It definitely felt accusatory and implied I was trying to leave. I firmly explained that I was simply getting in line. When I eventually reached the register, her tone completely changed and she acted as if nothing happened. Vern has a chill vibe, which helped relax me---he was honest when I asked about the pain instead of falsely reassuring me. He had a couple of labubus in his station which I pointed out and he said, "Not claiming that!" It would've been cool though to have this big dude all tatted up with full sleeves with his labubus proudly displayed. 2/18/24 Eleven + Luxe is a super cute boutique ear piercing and tattoo spot in downtown Burlingame. The store is bright inside with big windows and the staff I have encountered are all friendly and welcoming. I was helped by Gabby for ear piercing. I had my ears pierced back in high school at Claire's, but my ears got infected. I researched about ear piercing methods (gun vs sterile needle) and Eleven + Luxe uses sterile needles, which appealed to me more because I didn't want to get infected ears and I was used to sterile needles from my tattoos. Day of the ear piercing, I was helped by Gabby. She is a lovely person who chatted me up the entire time which helped with my anxiety. I have no fear of tattoo needles, but imagining the needle going through the ears still gave me the heebie jeebies. She donned on sterile gloves and open the sterile needles from sterile packaging. She also gave me two stress balls to squeeze during the (mostly) painless piercing. After it was done, Gabby gave me an aftercare kit that contained a small saline spray bottle and a paper with dos and don'ts. My only comment is that the saline spray bottle is very, very delicate. The next day, I accidentally dropped the bottle from the bathroom counter and it completely shattered. _____________________________________________ I came back to Eleven + Luxe about a month or two ago for a flash tattoo sale they were having. I forgot the name of the female tattoo artist that I met with, but she was super sweet and cordial. I got the star alignment for my horoscope, Sagittarius. It's my first dainty tattoo and I love it. So far my experiences at Eleven + Luxe have both been great. Looking forward to my next visit :) read more

I ended up blowing 249$ that I can't get back, just for me to end up at the ER almost about to loose my ear. The piercing hurt? Imagine having 4 nurses yanking jewelry out your swollen ear because it's so swollen it's causing you an infection and pain. Trust me I've had multiple piercings and never did I get an infection before I cleaned them and followed the rules. btw I'm writing this from the ER because piercing facilities like this should educate there clientele a lot more. read more

I have a good amount of piercings (18) and either go to an establishment in SF or SJ when I want a new piercing or jewelry. This place is clean and on the peninsula, so I went to go get a jewelry change. They didn't have the correct instruments and it was the most painful thing as I waited for my piercer to figure out what she was doing. I brought my sister here after and she also had a poor experience with the piercer. The piercers do whatever you want, but don't have the experimental judgement to say some piercings won't heal well/not enough space/what jewelry is appropriate. I wasn't going to write a poor review, but on my first visit I bought a "opal" hoop for my daith (just a jewelry change). A few months later, I'm itching my ear, and a sticker falls off from my piercing. What I thought was an opal was just a glitter sticker!! I messaged them on instagram and they said it was past warranty - the issue is it's false advertising! So I went in person to show them the sticker, and they said it looked like another piece fell off - yes, more plastic - and insisted it was opal. Maybe they really think it's opal cause that's what their dealer is telling them, but if you listen to the customer, you'll see this is just plastic stuck on. On the images, you can see how the circle indents match the sticker and the jewelry piece. Their jewelry is cheap, their piercers have little experience, and I would not recommend this place. read more

They were not only able to fix my bracelet at a super reasonable price, but they were also able to make my other, non-permanent bracelet, into a permanent one by removing the clasp and welding it together. This was great because the clasp was loose and kept falling off. This shop is so cute and it's a family business with the kindest folks! Definitely check this place out. read more

At 61 I finally had my ears double pierced. Sabrina was great. she explained the process took care to make sure I was comfortable and within minutes it was done. There was minimal pain and 4 days later I have had zero pain or swelling. Everything was very clean and hygienic. **if not for my experience in the days following I would absolutely give 5 stars. All employees were so nice and respectful, and the shop has a very comfortable environment. I got three tattoos in one session early August and all three need touchups. I realize this is very common with new tattoos, but I have never needed a touchup this soon as my skin takes ink extremely well. My smallest piece was a heart shaped freckle that was supposed to be brown but ended up healing black. I have another brown tattoo that didn't have this problem. I was also advised to keep the saniderm on for three days, and on day three when I removed the wrap on the freckle, I noticed that it had become infected and there was a hole forming in the center. Despite my experience I would also like to add that my friend was pierced here the day before and has had a great healing process. She was also tattooed the same day I was and never had any issues. read more

Over-priced and not-secure/easy-to-lose earrings. Poor customer service with regards to fit. They're selling gold-filled flatbacks for $55-70 that are very similar to stuff you can find online for $40. (e.g., see the brand Studs, I have no affiliation but just looked them up for price comparison) They also sell a lot of push-pin flatbacks, which imo are not great for new piercings because they are so easy to lose: if your hair catches on the earring the pin can get pulled out. (I didn't get pierced here but did buy an earring that I lost within a week, probably because I bumped it in my sleep.) The piercing shops I've been to before used screwbacks, which are much better for earrings that you don't plan to change immediately. A couple of weeks after my earring from here fell out, I ended up getting a pair of screwback studs from Maria Tash, which were much more expensive but I think it's better value to buy $600 gold earrings that will last for decades vs $140 gold-filled earrings that will last a week. From my experience at Maria Tash, I also think Eleven let me buy earrings with an inappropriate post length--MT proactively brought up post length and sized me at 6.5mm but Eleven let me buy 8mm (I think that might have been the only size they had in that style, and I guess they decided it would be fine to sell me something that didn't fit) read more

Walked-in for 2x third lobe piercings and they took me in right away! All the staff is very friendly and kind. Jewelry options were really cute too. I went for the solid gold option with a flat back so it was on the pricier side. It was very female friendly here, definitely a much different experience than going to a regular tattoo and piercing parlor. While the customer service was up to par... the piecing I received was below standard. I asked to have my tragus jewelry replaced and they suggested a post... after two days, my ear starting feeling sore and itchy. When I called, they gave me advise that applied for a new piecing. I went to another place and they said it was put in too tight, was inflamed, and that it was not the correct fit. Hello everyone, I got my nose piercing done here a couple weeks ago, and I ended up deciding to get a hoop as my first piercing which I thought was a good idea since they had it as an option. BAD IDEAAAAA, I ended up getting a really bad bump and puss kept coming out of my piercing hole even though I would spay saline on it everyday as they told me to, I didn't know how bad a piercing would heal with a hoop, don't get a hoop it will not heal correctly. Do better Eleven and Luxe and don't let people get a hoop as piercing you guys are the professionals at the end of the day even though my piercer stated that she had years of experience she decided to not tell about hoops and how they are not a good choice. read more
