We were able to buy a good amount of aquatic animals from this establishment(some of you would say save them). There is a large variety of pets. The gentleman who was there was not too interested in talking to us, or explaining to us, might have been a slight language barrier. But he was definitely more than willing to help us get the fish that we wanted which was several. To be fair it was closer to the end of his shift and he had other customers coming in to buy other items. He had a little of everything, tanks, decor, food, different animals. Overall good experience but it was very warm in the shop I don't know if that was because of the pets, the AC not working or him being so close to closing time. read more

Avoid going to petco or petsmart for your fish and go here. I've tried to get fish at petco and petsmart but the fish quality and health hasn't always been the greatest. Ever since, I've always come to local fish shops like DD Fish Pets for my fish. They have a large inventory and variety of fish and you could always give them a call to check for inventory or to see if they have the fish you are looking for. I've been a long term customer here and finally decided to write a review. The boss and staff are pretty nice and helpful. In full honesty, most if not all fish I have gotten from DD Fish has lasted for years so wherever their fish distributor is, the fish is healthy and strong. It is a cool place, the fish selection is decent , and the prices are not too bad . I came here in particular for saltwater fish, the tanks do not look good let's be honest , but the fish seem ok. I did see one fish flashing and itching himself like he had ich and he was for sale. Overall place isn't too tidy but they have some good stuff probably wouldn't get fish from here but supplies. Pretty cool shop. They have a good selection of bettas for a great price. We picked up a really unique betta from these guys almost 1.5 years ago and have really enjoyed watching him grow. The owner is an old school asian guy of very few words. There's a younger guy (his son possibly?) that helped us out a lot when our betta got sick. First the reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because I have come to this store for 5 years and the employees are respectful, polite and are happy to get what you want without complaint. Their cages, tanks and displays are all crystal clear and have little to no odor to this day. ( the reason I say a little is because it is impossible to have a fish tank not smell unless its the first day of the initial setup) they also do have some ill fish but they were in a separate tank by themselves. now even though they have this great service they don't have that organized of a place so it is tricky to find what you need even when they tell you where. In conclusion they have great deals on all creatures they have in stock as well as the other items they have Edit: I decided to do a re-review and they get a 5 as they have now organized the shop which makes it WAY easier to find items and the variety they have is OUTSTANDING they had red rainbowfish which go for 15 dollars and they had them in stock for 11 which was an amazing deal. They also made sure to be more attentive to our needs and concerns. read more

Our kids make me stop here occasionally when playing road games in Santa Ana. Otherwise I wouldn't bother. Man, this place sucks. First, selection is poor. I only saw birds and fish. And some of their larger marine fish that have been here longer are definitely sick. They have some skin thing going on, so be careful. On top of that, prices on animals are too high. And worse, it's filthy dirty in here and very cluttered. Cages and tanks are not being cleaned often enough. Aisles are crowded and poorly organized. This is one of the most uncomfortable pet shops I've been in. And all the dust and filth get my allergies going. Come on. Have some pride in your store. read more

I like the variety of freshwater fish here. Not to much saltwater species. Was greeted by the one worker who was relaxing behind the counter but not asked for help while we walked around the store for 5 minutes or so.
