Worse company. Prices are way too high. Do not use them there are other companies with better prices and service.

The whole system completely leaked out and the AC units shut down. We found R&D Heating and Cooling online and called them with our urgent need of service. The agent got us an immediate appointment and the technician Jeannie arrived promptly. Jeannie greeted us professionally and was very courteous and knowledgeable. She looked at our unit and knew exactly where it was leaking from, she advised us of the next steps and how much it would cost. Jeannie was not able to fix the problem that day due to the bad weather and the constant rain and humidity. She had to return the next day since she had to weld the flare connection together and to make sure that there would be no humidity in the system etc. After we had such a bad experience with a previous company we are so glad that we found R&D Heating and Cooling and are happy to have had Jeannie a very knowledgeable and qualified technician fix our problem. We will definitely use them again if there is another need especially since winter is coming and they also do the Heating systems. "Highly recommend them if you want to be treated by a very professional and courteous company that you can trust."

R & D installed a Mitsubishi split ac unit for me three years ago. When the unit stopped working…read morethis August, I called for a repair tech to come out and look it over. When I called for repair service I was told it would cost $99.00 for a service call. As it turned out, I was charged $99.00 for the tech to drive to my house and then I was charged $49.00 per every 15 minutes he was there. This was never explained to me at the initial phone conversation. To make matters worst, the technician actually told me that he never worked on a Mitsubishi unit before. He spent the next hour on his phone getting instruction from someone else; which I was charged for. He was not able to fix anything. Two more service calls later ( a total of one month with no AC in August ) nothing was fixed and I was invoiced a total of $550.00. The AC unit is still not working !!! I'll let you make your own decisions as to whether you want a company like this doing work for you.

SK came out and did a seasonal checkup on our AC. We're new to the home and area and found SK…read morethrough Yelp. They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

Last cooling season he…read moresaid the outside unit was near the end of its life, the unit was in the house when purchased. It''s a rental when it dies, we'll replace it. On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.

I recently (within the last few years) had mini-splits installed all throughout my house. No less…read morethan 6 Heads and 2 outdoor units capable of 4 heads apiece. I had a three company bidding war going on to see who would, in the end, give us the greatest value for our system. It turned out that Aire Serv, through the owner's brother, gave us the best equipment for the best value. So we went with Aire Serv... and then I've had nothing but headaches since. 1. One of the six heads iced up thick enough make snowballs. One of the installers connected the refrigerant line from another head to it, so it iced over even though it didn't need coolant. 2. My largest head carrying the most load has had issues since very shortly after installation. I was told "there's nothing wrong", "there's not enough coolant", "there's too much coolant", "there's nothing wrong" again, "it's your fault", and finally one of their technicians correctly determined the blower wheel motor was defective and got it replaced, but not until being gaslit for no less than probably 4-6 technician calls. 3. When I went to purchase the maintenance agreement, the owner's brother never told me the price he was quoting me was for only 1/2 of my system. Imagine my surprise when the maintenance agreement was double the price. 4. One of the heads leaked water over my original hardwood floors and caused damage. Why? Because an installer didn't wrap the refrigerant line in insulation so it condensed and ran down my wall. Their fix? sand it down until you can't see the damage. 5. I was told by one of the technicians "I'm not sure this system was designed correctly. You probably need another head for your main living area". Awesome! So the system I purchased wasn't correctly sized or designed? That's just great! No wonder I feel like the system doesn't do a good job of keeping my living space cool in the summer time. 6. And now, I'm being told if I want to maintain my warranty that I have to purchase surge protection for over $1,500. It can only be installed by them. I can't get my own protection or contractor. I'm pretty sure a post hoc change like this is illegal, but I'm not a law professional. I would encourage anyone who is in law to look at this review and consider reaching out to get a class action together. From what it sounds like, Aire Serv is doing this to all of their customers. It's not OUR, the customer's fault, that Aire Serv did not have the foresight to consider that surge protection would be a great idea for installations... but they certainly are trying to make us pay for their hindsight. I would NOT recommend Aire Serv. If you have a modicum of handy homeowner skills, just get a Mr. Cool DIY system from home improvement stores for 1/4 of the price. Or better yet, just buy the $400 in window mini-split units that look like legacy window units and save 90% of the cost of install. If you don't or can't install it on your own, there are other HVAC companies, like Moon Air. Don't get me wrong, the system works 75% to my expectations. Mitsubishi makes great mini-splits. But go through another company other than Aire Serv - they are the problem.
