I walked pass by this store many times as it is on my way from subway to office. Today, i gave it a try, and I'm glad i did. They have many selections, all women clothes. You gotta give attention as some clothes look cheap, but some are super nice in a very affordable price. I ended up brought a midi skirt and a nice dress for $40. I found out about De Janeiro last year from co-workers because of their amazingly good prices for the quality of clothing they sell. De Janeiro sells everything from boots to coats to dresses to stockings at an affordable price. Sometimes there will be great finds, sometimes you won't find anything, but it's worth a visit if you are around the area and have some free time on your hands. You never know what you might find. This is hands down the best De Janeiro shop in NYC. This location is a block from the J and Z on Broad Street and the 2 and 3 on Wall Street. The staff is amazing and the store is well organized and clean. The ladies here are the sweetest and always happy to help. When they saw me struggling to grab my shoe size from the boxes of shoes, they were quickly ready to help. There is also never a wait at the cash register and as soon as they see you waiting by the cash register, they drop everything to help you. Love this shop and its amazing staff! read more

I had never heard of this store until about 1 week ago. This place is heaven. On my first visit to this store, I got a pair of boots for $23 dollars... WHERE CAN YOU GET A PAIR OF BOOTS FOR $23!!?? Reasonable prices - nice working and daily clothes for women. Multiple locations in manhattan

You really have to search and dig to find the good stuff. They usually have affordable and cute items. Some of their stuff actually looks cheap. This store is pretty big for the location but they should have more items and selection. Their shoes are unorganized and some of them have cuts and scratches. This place was way better back in the day. They do have a communal dressing room than can fit 3 maybe 4 people comfortably. I would mainly come here just for work clothes. read more

Walking around downtown, passed this store. Window display caught my attention. Then I saw the prices displayed in window and had to check it out. Well, interior did not meet the standard of display but whatever. Right away I noticed a fringed heavy cardigan. Super cute for only 15.99! So stoked. I looked up to see who even works there bc I also noticed that there was no greeting or any kind of acknowledgment when I walked in. Nothing. Whatever. Kept browsing. Someone else came, same. I noticed an older and younger female. Someone was already inside and asked if she can try something on. The older woman waved her as if she was bring bothered and said "yeah you can try on". May not seem harsh bit she was definitely rude and bothered. She was too busy shuffling clotges around that were not even properly merchandised and we, THE CUSTOMERS were getting in her way. So after I told her she's rude and has no customer service skills and I would have spent some money, I left. Did she care probably not. But my money is not going to someone like that. Freakin shame, I really liked that sweater. read more

Ahhh.. so glad there are other locations (see my review of the 44th st. location). Not unlike their other store, lots of great stuff at great prices. I saw many of the same items too - so if you don't want to deal with the crowd or nasty manager at the midtown location come downtown. Here there is even more stuff, much neater, and a fitting room to boot! The shoes are neater and better priced, and I saw brands such as Nine West, Tommy Hilfiger, Forever 21 (and you thought F21 couldn't get cheaper), etc. I picked up the same cute jacket ($15) and dress ($10) I saw at the midtown location and picked up stockings that were better priced ($3 and $4 for patterned knit stockings). I saw lots of other cute things and well priced basics too. Same rigid return policy - so be careful, but no awful attitude at least down here. read more

I give it 4 stars for the remarkable amount of great discounted items you can find here. I got a pair of Seven jeans for $20, tons of Banana Republic stuff ranging $9-$15 and they always have trendy-of-the-moment stuff that you don't mind buying and then tossing because it's so cheap. I know I know, quality always outweighs quantity, but honey if I can buy three cute tops there for the price of one at Bloomingdale's, you know I'm gonna do it! Oh, I also can't forget the shoes. Really, really good finds here, especially if you need shoes for work - cute shoes for work. I can't give it 5 stars because the actual store is very shabby and the people who work there look like they are from another planet. read more

De Janerio's is great for what it does and I totally miss having stores like this around. It's great when you need to go out or something's come up and you need a sudden change of outfit but don't want to spend a ton of money. Like if you're in office geat and forgot you have a hot date that night and need hoochie gear. For $20, you can probably find something in De Janeiro. But they don't just have hoochie gear! You can get nice coats in season, for a fraction of what it would cost at a dept store. They actually sell brands like Banana Republic, GAP, CK, J Crew, etc. for what less than what you'd expect to pay at an outlet store. So it's worth coming here every few weeks to rummage around for a new shirt or something, and at a more than reasonable price to boot! read more

This is Forever 21's half sister that no one knows anything about. Honestly, this store is really random especially in the Financial District and especially with its location in FiDi. It's not a super easy store to get to if you don't know the area. The obvious good things about this store are the cheap, cheap prices. The assortment of clothes which includes outergear, bras, and workout clothes. Then again it depends on the week. Came in a few months ago and they had a huge assortment of workout gear which included new balance stuff as well. Then I went just 2 weeks ago and they had a very small selection. If anything they have a better selection of spring and summer dresses than they do other times of the year. I definitely won out with all the dresses I got last summer! read more

This place is really hit-or-miss. Some days their inventory is exceptional, some days, not so much. I work two blocks away and stop in from time to time to see what they have. I've found some great gems in here. Everything from J Crew jeans for $20 to a Kenneth Cole trench coat for $60 to endless pairs of shoes (Badolino, Nine West, Jessica Simpson, Bebe, Nautica) for reasonable prices. You can find anything from socks, to a cute bathing suite, tights, coats, work attire and umbrellas. If you walk by, give it a try- you might find a great piece! read more

Its really hit-or-miss. But when you do it, its like finding that gold pot at the end of the rainbow. Went in one afternoon strictly because I needed a cardigan to keep at my work - and ended up with a great cardigan, a Banana Republic Blazer (tagged @ $240) and 2 pairs of slacks from Express for....get ready...$67!! Just stopped in during my lunch hour to check out the selection. However, Beware the cash register woman can ARBITRARILY change the price and charge twice as much. I browsed the sale racks and noticed they had a bunch of stretch pants for sale unfortunately almost all of them were XXL. I unearthed one in my size thought I'd get it. Brought it up to the counter and was told even thought the sticker price had the sale price. The cash register woman ripped it off and said it was 50% more than what the sale price was. Absolute disgrace and they apparently charge twice as much if your not XXL. read more

It is a fun store to find a few treasures once in a while (especially shoes) but overall the items are not of good quality. You definitely need to pay close attention to what you are buying, but it can be fun. I am glad they have other locations in downtown. I will not go back to the one on William Street. The sales people are so rude, that I refuse to go back there. read more

Went to this store (William Street location)with my daughter on 10/10/16. Upon entering downstairs the worker looked at us and did not greet us at all. She kept up putting merchandise away. I was in the store for a while and she did not approach to see if I needed help or anything. The store has very nice affordable clothes but I walked out without purchasing just based on the customer service. I love this store and use to shop all the time. I haven't been in one for a few years so I was happy to bump into this location. I went upstairs and the worker up there was no better. She was too busy watching us on the security camera. It was only my daughter and myself in the store until one other customer came in. She actually had to approach the employee. I guess my money wasn't needed. Customer service at its finest. read more

Ok. So, I just moved to Jersey after spending a decade in Brooklyn and I walk past this place nearly every day on or from my way to work. I wouldn't ever think to go in thinking that it's basically a Conway and that there could NEVER be anything halfway decent in there. I had some time to kill before going to a networking event so I decided to just stop in for a minute. I was AMAZED because of all the cheap name brand stuff and the fact that not a lot of people were in the store when I was there. So you aren't going to find super great quality things here but this store is about volume, so if you like fast cheap fashion that you're going to wear just a couple times, this place is great. They also have really great brand items from either overstock or slightly off items that maybe made it to the outlet or might have slight imperfections but the place is great and very rarely is anything over 20 bucks. I bought two dresses there a skirt and two jersey cardigans for about 70 bucks. I just bought it all to take home and try on and return what I don't want... Now that I know it exists I'm pretty sure this is going to be a dangerous place for me! read more

This is my actually first review ever, but i had to review this de janiero store on 27 williams st . My reason for the visit is simple i needed new clothes since i didn't bring alot of fall gear with me im originally from california the weather is not that cold as here in ny . So my friend told me about the store so i had to pay then a visit and check it out for my self first off its huge store wow tun of different selection i was excited to see so many clothes. I walked straight to the back where all the clothes are. As far customer service i wasn't quite impress there was a lady behind the cash register who had a mean frown on her face maybe she just hate her job who knows? , then there was lady with glasses she was nice she help me pick out a outfit. When i went to the shoe section a lovely gentle men name stephon i believe was absolutely wonderful amazing service two thumbs up for him!
