I told him that China Mac asked me to come then he let me in. Alife has a cool outdoor space to host events/parties like China Mac's tonight. Damn, there was a lot of chopiis (fans) along with his close friends that pull up to his listening party. Well I'm happy to report that while I still can't believe I own "cool kids" sneakers, I still know how to find a bargain. My highlighter colored Nike Air Max sneaks are extra fly and I only paid 60 bucks for shoes that used to cost about 30 percent more than that. Now something I apparently sacrifice patronizing this establishment is service. I had to find an employee. And as I walked toward the counter with my desired shoe, the shoe attendant was summoned from trying on the merchandise he was supposed to be selling. He asked, "What size?" I said "9.5." He handed me the shoe back and said that it was a 9.5. One shoe. One. Have you ever gone into a shoe store and in good conscience tried on just one shoe? One? I thought so. So I asked for the match and he said, "oh is one of your feet bigger than the other?" WHAT DOES IT MATTER?! I ASKED FOR THE MATCH! NOT THE THIRD DEGREE! "Yeah." I left my raggedy chucks in the trash can outside the store and wore my highlighters out of the store, 5-year-old-fresh-from-a-trip-to-Payless style. Extra star for the ATMOSphere. Love it.

They buy and sell sneakers all day here-- so don't expect to get in and out of here. They will advertise the sneakers that were sold to them on their IG page, the evening before and will also have a large amount of steals, which are sneakers that are being sold at a pretty good deal. Unfortunately, in order to capitalize on that, you have to get here very early. Everyone here is very friendly and willing to help. I've been coming in frequently the last month or two as I wanted a pair of Yeezy Foam Runners and finally was able to catch a pair for a decent price. I would say if you're a sneaker head, this is the place for you. Also, you should follow them on Instagram so you can see what they have to offer. I'm unsure about whether they give a good return when you sell sneakers to them, but I know they give both store credit and cash for sneakers. They also do trades for different sneakers, too. I reduced a star because of the aforementioned long wait time. There has been a couple of occasions that I came and left because I'm not about to wait 90 minutes to get a pair of sneakers, but aside from that, I don't have any complaints.

It retains the cool vibe on a smaller scale as that of the Flatiron location, and it was very convenient for someone like myself who was in the neighborhood looking for a new pair of oxfords. The staff was so helpful and actually saved me making a bad size selection by gently nudging me to measure for a fitting first. Upon realizing that the shoe I liked was not true to size for folks with wider feet, I came away with an awesome pair of brandy-colored Executive oxfords for under $200 that I can't wait to break into. Thanks to the staff for being so helpful and excited to have a footwear brand that I am a fan of to have a second store in downtown Manhattan!

FIRE OR RETRAIN YOUR SECURITY GUARD…read more My boyfriend and I stopped by this store with one goal in mind: buy a couple of tshirts that only this store has. We ring the doorbell, as the sign says, and out comes the security guard who says the store is at capacity. My boyfriend looks over his shoulder and says there's only 5 people inside. To which the security guard replies "do you understand how shopping works?" ....... Um yes we do.... That's why we are trying to visit this store to buy a shirt....from a clothing store? He finally lets us in after someone leaves. The store now has 6 people total. We enter and immediately my boyfriend sees the shirts that he planned to buy. The shirts are in a plastic sleeve and he is only touching the fabric. He's not taking the shirt outside. The security guard comes over and tells him if he needs help. To which my boyfriend responses "no, I just wanted to know how the shirt felt". The security guard then says he can't take the shirt out of the packaging and my boyfriend responds "yeah I'm not." The security guard then calls a staff member to help my boyfriend out. Remember, this is a SECURITY GUARD. He's occupation and attention should be on managing the front door. We then speak with the staff and my boyfriend's asks for a size L and they say they only have a size M but he can try it on. And then proceeds to walk us to the back of the store and tell us to stand in line. My boyfriend and I are midway through the store and we are contemplating if we should wait in line. I'm not exaggerating when I say the security guard leaves his station and comes straight to boyfriend and then proceeds to tell him he can't be at the back of the store because they are at capacity. There's 4 people in the back! My boyfriend explains the staff brought us here and said to stand in line for the fitting room. The security guard then speaks over my boyfriends, says we can't be here and belittles him. Another staff member gets involved trying to deescalate the situation and says he's sorry. The security guard should have informed the staff if there was a policy in place. I sincerely ask him if this is a normal experience to be followed and harassed by a security guard? My boyfriend tells the security guard that he made shopping here very unpleasant. I cannot express enough to not come here. If you are looking to browse, or with any intention of buying, go somewhere else.
