Everything was amazing! My husband is not easily impressed, but, De Jesus won him over. We started with the octopus salad, it was very tender, not at all chewy and had great flavor. Next, we had a chicken, crab and lobster empanadilla, the chicken was my favorite. For an entree, I had the lobster stuffed red snapper, it was absolutely delicious! I had it with the tostones (fried plantains) which were also very good. My husband had the Churassco (side steak) and French fries, they were both awesome! The steak was so tender and was cooked perfectly. We also had sides of garlic yuca and crab rice. If you love garlic, you must try the garlic yuca, so good! The crab rice was also very good. So delicious! Nice air conditioned space in the middle of a neighborhood just blocks from the boardwalk. We had the mahi-mahi, mine in garlic, his in creole sauce, and both were superb. Service was also great, although we came at 4:30 on Sunday and it was very packed. Definitely a diamond in the rough in the middle of Ponce. read more

I am frequent costumer at the De Jesus Restaurant. The food there is outstanding. I personally recommend the lobster in garlic, and the Arroz con Jueyes (Rice and Crab Meat). Those are my favorite dishes but everything in the menu is simply delicious! Drinks are always well prepared, and the service and attentions are spectacular. My recommendation for people who will visit for the first time is that they should call ahead of time to make reservations as the restaurant get a bit crowded at certain hours. De Jesus was recommended to us and it was delicious and the service was great!! Ricky was our server and was knowledgable of the menu, accommodating and provided us with great service! I had the asopao de camarones with tostones on the side which made me think of home cooking. We also had the mofongo with camarones and I think I have to say that was the best we ever had. The Lobster stuffed Red Snapper is great! Off the beaten path but well worth it. Went on a Friday night the place was packed but got seated right away and our food came pretty quick. Agree with the fact that service is slow once food is served but that's on par with most restaurants on the island. I went to De Jesús twice last month and was so disappointed. The service and the food are not the same as they used to when I first reviewed it. The fish balls were terrible and even the fries chicken, which used to be delicious, was not. I don't think I'll go back. read more

The food was great but the service was very disorganized. We didn't get our own waiter, it was pretty much whoever is free or whoever you can grab walking by. Because of that it's a bit challenging to get your water filled, food order and food served. When my friends and I went, they were about to close which didn't help because the waiters focused more on their closing tasks than the customers. Do not waste your money!!! The food is way over priced, the service is horrible( we waited 25 mins just for a waiter to come to the table), in fact we almost left with out paying due to the fact that we waited more than 40 mins for the waiter to make a second appearance. The food itself was below mediocre. I honestly couldn't tell you which was worse- the food or the service. Was visiting Ponce. Found this place on yelp. The directions given weren't correct. It guided me to the correct road but it didn't tell us where exactly it was. We finally found it! My family is from the area and we vacation here a few times a year. Tonight was our first visit to De Jesus and we should have come sooner. Just horrible. Really bad service. Food had no taste. Coffe was cold. They managed to entirely screw up an afternoon out with the family. Even worst they stole my father's credit card. I even know close friends who've come out from the restaurant with food poisoning. So if you are looking for somewhere to push down your food, get your credit card stolen and have to go to the hospital later because of poisoning, deeply recommend this place. read more
