During a countryside day trip, our tour guide recommended De Lunch for a quick bite. We didn't realize it was a tourist trap until we got there, but we decided to give it a try anyway.
We ordered the fried fish and the fish sampler platter. The food came out quickly, which was nice. The fried fish was fine--nothing remarkable. The sampler platter was a good way to try a bit of everything, though most of the items didn't particularly stand out. The eel, however, was the exception--it was perfectly fatty with a unique texture that I really enjoyed.
One thing that felt a bit odd was that we had to share a table with another party, even though it wasn't a large table, which made things feel cramped.
I also ordered a lemonade, but it didn't taste anything like the lemonade I'm used to in the U.S. (maybe Dutch lemonade is just different!).
Overall, De Lunch was okay if you're in the area, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again. read more
