I also liked the fact that there wasn't any high pressure wine sales going on; they were very cool about the whole affair. As for the wine, I was mainly drinking beer from our group's private stash, but a number of group's members had some and said that it was very good. All things considered, I'd gladly attend another event here any day.

I had no real idea what to expect in terms of the building, but I was familiar with their wines. There is a sign for the winery at the end of the road and you enter up a long driveway (with several signs warning about not bringing in outside food and drink). I had no idea that their grounds were as massive as they were! There was even a sign for a walking trail. I visited on a Monday in the winter, so I wasn't able to take advantage of their beautiful grounds, but after a great visit, I definitely want to come back in warmer weather and come for one of their events (or even just to enjoy some wine outdoors). They have a nice variety of wines. Many sweet, dry and fruit wines. They also have cocktails and other drinks. I like that more of the specialty establishments are starting to have extended offerings because it makes visiting more accessible to people who might not like wine or beer but still want to enjoy the company of someone who does or a specific event. I went in set on getting a wine slushie (they rotate their flavors, but every one I've tried has been delicious). They allow you to sample basically anything from their menu and you can order wine by the glass, bottle or as tasting flights. When I was there, they were still offering their Valentine's pairing which included four generous pours of red wines each paired with a gourmet chocolate. I really enjoyed the experience and everything was tasty. The service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I asked questions about the wines, where the grapes are grown, how they come up with new blends and about events and they answered all of them. Overall, an amazing experience and a place I'll definitely be back to.

The winery uses California grapes and other, locally-sourced fruits and traditional winemaking techniques to produce small-batch, handcrafted wines. They sell their wines through their website, at a couple local businesses, and at some farmers markets and festivals. I first encountered Mingo Creek Cellars several months ago when the owner, who is one of the very best review writers on Yelp, kindly gifted me a bottle of sangria. As he released more wines, I had to try more! In recent months, I purchased three other wines: Blushberry, sweet strawberry-apple; McFarlane's Blueberry Battalion, sweet blueberry and named after Major McFarlane who fought in the American Revolutionary War and the Whiskey Rebellion; and Blackpaw Treaty, a semi-sweet blackberry cabernet named after the secret agreement. I loved all of these wines! Mingo Creek Cellars currently sells many other wines: Cavalier Cab, a dry red cabernet sauvignon; Bradford's Blaze, a dry syrah; Whispers of the Hill, petite sirah; Militia Whisperer, Gewürztraminer; Rebel Scout, a dry riesling; Forbidden Flame, a semi-sweet with raspberry and dragonfruit.

For dinner, I got the salmon special with a white wine sauce over a bed of chickpea ragù, and I seriously could not stop eating it. So flavorful and perfectly cooked. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was INSANE -- rich, fresh, creamy, and you could immediately tell the Alfredo sauce was homemade and made fresh to order... definitely not from a jar. Soooo good! The Vinoski Cabernet Sauvignon was quite delicious, nothing like the majority of wines served in Pennsylvania wineries with the notable exception of BellaTerra, which we also enjoy quite a lot. Vinoski has a beautiful patio and balcony for entertainment, you can reserve tables on the patio and outside food is welcome. We ended up purchasing four bottles of the Cabernet, two to take with us. The photos give a brief idea of the size of the crowd, but the hill sides were both packed. The music was outstanding, and the atmosphere perfect for a summer evening.
