Thankfully we saw them next to the Mexican restaurant downtown (El paso) we dined in for lunch. The timing on that! We didn't know they moved. We went on record store day. Which is always on Black Friday. This location is much bigger and has more vinyl and products. They now have used VHS, CD's, vinyl players, and more! In the back is where they will have live bands every so often. Everything is categorized by genres which is easy to find and organized. We ended up getting RSD Ghost album, some used and new vinyl. I also made a new friend. Their pet dog Otis which he chilled with me on the couch. This is the best record store in Augusta and I highly recommend you check them out.

Vinyls (of course), CD's, DVD's, video games and classic consoles, shirts, posters, and even a stage for live bands. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, especially their dog Otis, who mainly chills on the couch waiting for a leg to lay his cute little head on. The prices on everything are very reasonable too. My lady and I stopped by on Black Friday Record Store Day and scored some great vinyls. We were stoked to see Colemine Records, a Loveland, OH company, represented in the store too. This is definitely a great record store!

It was busy in the best possible way: people drifting between shelves with purpose, a small line forming at the register, and an author set up at a front table signing books while chatting with readers. Moments like that feel like a quiet victory for local culture, a reminder that #LocalBooks still matter and that Augusta shows up for them. I lingered longer than I meant to because the browsing here pulls you in. The front tables were stacked with new releases and staff picks, and the red dot discount display added that little spark of treasure‑hunt energy. The range of subjects is part of what makes the place feel so alive. Politics and gender identity sit alongside fiction and romance, sci fi and fantasy, table games, cookbooks, and a genuinely thoughtful section on Augusta history. It's the kind of curation that reflects a community rather than a trend algorithm. And of course, there's the upstairs. It's one of the shop's best features. Quieter, a little more contemplative, with shelves that reward slow wandering. A busy bookstore on a weekend afternoon is a small civic joy. The Book Tavern manages to feel both rooted and evolving, a place where Augusta's literary life gathers itself and keeps going. [Review 212 of 2026 - 913 in Georgia - 25401 overall]

On going in we found a beautiful bookstore that has a lot of Southern charm. The bookstore itself is laid out really nicely with books lined all the way too the top. There is also an upstairs section with a kids reading nook area. We didn't find the book we were looking for, but we still found a book. Checkout was fast and friendly, wish that I had pickedup a souveneir sticker on my way out - but maybe next time!

I Called in to…read morewhat online is listed as "Top Dog Pawn" the storefront says "Title Pawn" as well at (3109 Washington Rd) and asked about selling my gold teeth and when I got there they told me they wouldn't take them because she didn't believe they were actual gold, despite them saying they would test and weight the gold upon arrival. Why would I try to pawn dental gold which is worthless, keep in mind the current bullion cost for 18 grams of gold at 14k is $1,380 I was willing to take $800-900 your loss honestly I will definitely be able to sell them to an actually REPUTABLE business. Poor customer service at its finest, literally asked them to test it for themselves and they refused. UPDATE the next place I went to (Stackers Bullion) gave me $920.85 I guess my jewelry wasn't fake after all. Glad though because they gave me more than these people even quoted me for before turning me around in person.

The manager of the Washington Road store insulted me when I to corrected my information they had on file. I thought she would be appreciative for speaking up. Instead she drew close to me while dressed in a reveiling mid drift outfitt. So close i had to back up. She bumped me with her hip looked up at me and said she didnt wish to do bussiness with me. I left immediatley. Totally unproffessional personnel. Zero customer service. Staff dresses as if going on a night out. Not appropriate in a place of bussiness dealing with tools, lawn equipment and firearms.
