Description of Complaint: Bought used car from Dealer Worx: big mistake.Prior to purchase, I had it inspected by VIP in Auburn. They found some things wrong and suggested that I not buy the car. When I brought it back to Dealer Worx the owner, Brian, told me that VIP did not know what they were talking about. He assured me they were wrong about the "oil leak" and rust issues, there were no leaks of any kind, and that he would not only fix the problems VIP found that he agreed existed but that if I found anything else wrong with the car after purchase that he would take care of it. His wife, who also works there, asked why I seemed so worried about buying a car from them. I told her that used car dealers have a bad reputation. She assured me there would be no problems. This was reiterated by her father-in-law who also works there. They assured me they were honest people and would take care of any issues. It was a warm day when I test drove the car. I turned on the AC and noticed the air coming out was a bit warm but assured myself it was only the warmth of the day causing the problem and rolled down my windows. This problem with AC/heater seemed to be manageable but was still not working properly. A month later I discovered there was no coolant in the reservoir. I immediately contacted Brian who assured me it was caused by the work he did and I just needed to add a quart and everything would be fine. 1 month after that, I was out of coolant again. Called Brian and he said no problem, bring it in and we will take care of it. He found the problem and now claims it is a new leak in the system and will cost me $800 to repair. This is in spite of the fact he admits that the coolant leak in the Heater Core is causing the problems I experienced since day one with the heat/ac. I reminded him of his promise to me and he still refused to repair the car. I even offered to pay for the parts if he would fix the car. He told me he was "done with the conversation" and instructed me to come pick up my car. read more

I normally would never do this, as I know everyone is tryinhg to make a living but I feel compelled to if it means I would save someone else from the kind of treatment I was faced with at Dealer Worx. I have a VW convertible Eos . A few weeks ago I went to take the the top and it stopped half way . I immediatedly searched for a repair shop that dealt with VW. Dealer Worx camre up, I called and was reassuredv that Yes we have repaired the top before on these cars and yes we would be able to fix it. I drop car off and received a call later in the day saying we looked at the problem and we got it to work - However, Brian the owner, said the cord like bungees that amke evrything work are very worn and I cant even order them. He said but I got it to go up and down so it's all set. I said well what happens in the future when these bungees/cord-like strings finally need to be replaced? Gosh he said I'm not sure how your going to get them. So he later calls me and says yor timing belt will need to be replaced and if you dont get it done it could cause further problems - I said fine do it and while your at it if you could do an oil change and sticker it that would be great . He said ok it should be done by Monday. I never received a call Monday and didnt want to sound pushy so I figured he'll call me when its done . Well by Wednesday when I hadn't received a call I figured ok I think it would be fair to call at this point. When he came to the phone I said is the car ready , he responded yeah its been done sice Monday. (Should of been my first red flag) I finally picked up the vehicle the following week and Brian never came out to talk to me about what he had done , or anything . One of his assistants came out and said yeah we played with he top a hundred times and it works. That was May 25th . Ok heres my mistake- I never tried the top before I left , I got in the car and left. I got to the grocery store that day and noticed imthe flap in the back was not even tucked in te way it should be hmm....Then I went to lock the door so I could go in the store the little red button (panic button) was missing hmmm. Heres my second mistake I didnt attempt to put the top down untill this past weekend June 4th. I know what was I thinking? Too trusting ? Naive ? Not sure? Saturday afternoon after my son's baseball game 6/4 I wnet to put the top down and same thing stopped half way . I got out to look and these bungee cord-like strings were broken and a tangled mess. So I immediately called and left Dealer Worx a message . I knew it was Saturday afternnon and I probably wouldnt get a hold of anyone but hopefully they would call me Monday morning. Monday morning comes and they never call. So by 9:30 am I give them a call. This is where everything immediatedly comes to surface of who exactly I'm dealing with. His father answers and says he;s busy then says oh wait here he is . Immediately I cantell from his tone that he could care less. He goes on to say in a very rude, condesending way..... BRIAN: I told you those bungees were no good- ME: I understand but you also told me the top was all set and it worked . BRIAN: Well your going to have to replace the cords - is that what you want me to do ? ME: I thought you told me you couldn't find the cords and that the top was working you guys did it 100 times... I tried it once and it didn't work. BRIAN : Well what you want me to do refund your $75 bucks I charged you for it ? (He actually charged me $100 , which should have been anoher red flag) --------After that response from him I was done---------------- ME: No thats not what I want you can keep the money ! Good luck to you Buddy and your business! CLICK - I hung up NEEDLESS TO SAY, STAY AWAY I HATE TO SAY THIS BUT COMPLETE SCUMBAG. SUCH A CONTRAST TO WHOM IVE DEALT WITH IN THE PAST . CAN'T BELIEVE HE HE THINKS HE CAN SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS. SO SAD YOU SEEM LIKE A YOUNG GUY WITH YOUNG FAMILY TRYINHG TO MAKE A LIVING , TOO BAD .
