I bought a car and within the first 12 hours that I owned it, there was an error light on. It ended up being a $4,000.00 part that needs to be replaced and K&R is refusing to cover the cost, even though we have proof from Ford that this error was present for MONTHS before I bought the car. I am so distraught over this!!! Do NOT buy a car from these people! I now have no car and need to come up with $4,000.00 to fix it. I have contacted the attorney general and a lawyer to see what can be done but I will devote my life now to making sure that no one else has to go through this. K&R NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT!!! Wouldn't recommend a car form here went to look at 2018 Corolla worth less than 50,000 miles took a solid 30-40 seconds to start before puffing a thick black and white smoke for a few seconds. I have been waiting 9 months to have a check engine light repaired. They took it in once, the light was off for a day. I brought it back and was told it was a gas cap, but didn't get a new one. Been trying to get another appointment for months. Salesman keeps saying the gas cap. I called today for an appointment and was told by the salesperson that John, the manager would not give him an answer. Good after sale service, never there again! My daughter purchased a car after trying it out and noting the things that need to be fixed. She was promised that these things would be fixed but after she brought the car even with a written agreement to fix the listed defects, it took them months to fix and they only did what they did after repeated calls with no call back, several appointments that they then cancelled, many excuses and no apology. She finally settled out of frustration for some cash back after she was told there was no way they could fix all agreed upon. She finally settled after she realized they were just not going to at any time be going to fully fix her car as promised. My family and friends will not return to this business. read more

I have sat on this review for about 6 months because I wanted to make sure that the used car I helped my daughter purchase lived up to the expectations. I have to admit that dealing with car salesmen is one of the most uncomfortable experiences I have to do. I know just enough about cars to ask good questions and understand most of the issues, but I am also lacking enough knowledge to feel completely comfortable with my decision. My discomfort was compounded by the fact that I was negotiating while my 19 year old daughter was present. She and I had very different goals .... she wanted "cute" and I wanted reliable. Long story short, this dealership had a car that met both of our requirements. There was no hard sell, the price was fair and the car has been a solid, reliable vehicle. Appear to be an incredibly dishonest company who does not stand behind their cars. We purchased a car from them and 2 months after leaving the lot the blower motor gave out. When we took it to a mechanic to get fixed, it was reported that the wiring looked like it had been improvised for the blower motor and that 8" of wiring had melted because of the issue with the blower motor. Emailed K&R and the kg response was "talk to the salesman." We called and talked to the salesman twice and he said John would be calling us right back, and "wow, he didn't call, I'll talk onion and he'll call today." Never even got an apology or any kind of acknowledgment that this was unfortunate. It would have been nice if the dealership treated us like valued customers- even if they did not offer to help us with the $1500 repair. The salesman and sales manager nearly completely ignored us, the sales manager did completely ignore us and had never responded or contacted us. If you're looking for a car dealership that stands behind their vehicles and acts with integrity - DO NOT purchase from K & R auto. If you do choose to purchase from them, have a mechanic inspect the big things before you purchase. Notice there's a bit of a trend in the feedback/ratings for this business. read more

I bought two cars from them. The first one, it was my mistake. I knew what kind of car I was looking for, but not much more. they brought out the ones that had mechanical issues and not yet been detailed. They were intent on selling their new arrivals, no matter the shape, first. The salesman told me not to worry, if I bought today, all issues would be fixed. I wanted a car already on the lot, presumably in a much better condition. Not overjoyed, salesperson finally got me one from the lot. I should have had a mechanic look at it. It turned out to be an abused, late model rental car. Stupid me. But It lasted 3 years before it was ready for junk yard. I swore never again. Fast forward about 5 years, my daughter had heart set on a car they had advertised online. I warned her, but she had to have it. They did the same thing: showing cars not ready for sale. They even admitted some just came in "yesterday". We went thru this bull crap for 2 or 3 times, just sure we could leave, out came one in a color she loved. It ran and drove on the rough side, but they promised if she bought today, they would fix everything. She was in love! They put on one new tire, tie rod end, had VIP tune it up a bit. This was a fleet car originally. This one lasted 3 1/2 years, but to its credit, long miles. It has not been on the road for a year. Lesson learned: With K&R do what you can to get a very low price. Chances are you are a few years or less away from major work. They sell cars the new car dealers on center street won't touch.... They love to push 7 year financing to get you a "low" payment, but few of their cars will actually last that long. If you must buy here, get vehicle inspected by a good, qualified mechanic. read more

K&R's mechanics put a state inspection sticker on the 2013 Buick, after we got the car I took the car to my mechanic to have the car checked out, they reported that I had a transmission coolant leak and therefore would not pass a state inspection. I took the car back the 2013 Buick back to K&R for repair and to complain about a noise in the front end, that would bang every time I went over a bump, it sounded like it had bad front shocks, which that K&R could not find the reason for the banging, I took back a second time and K&R still could not find the reason for the noise. I took it back to my mechanic where they found that the front left caliper was being held on by only one bolt and the bolt was very, very loose. This bolt was being held on in by only a couple of threads. If the second bolt which was very loose fell out I would not have brakes. read more

Do not buy from these ppl. My husband bought a Toyota Tundra from there and less than 100 miles his engine light came on. My husband took it to Toyota and it was a 5,000 pump that needed fixed. He notified them and they kept ducking his calls. when he finally got someone they had him bring it in. They said it was a completely different thing and claimed to have fixed the problem. not even 50 miles later the light is back on and because it's more than 30 days they won't do anything else. This dealership has salesmen that are very deceptive. They are quick to ask for a social media review without reservation to keep their integrity when it comes to taking care of you within your warranty time. I feel that I am the poster child of the young lady that has been taken advantage of and swept under the rug when it come to wheeling and dealing cars. Here is my detailed story: I had two days left on my warranty when my car would not start, and was told they were too busy to squeeze me in. So I believed the salesmen when he said he would make it right the following week. I needed to make an additional appointment to get a part ordered that was needed and when I got there they gave me a rental for the afternoon which made some strange sound and felt unsafe in. I return only to find out they never got to my car to fix it after waiting more than four hours. On many occasions was I told "we are really busy" and this is a "bad time" in regards to getting them to make any appointment for any fix. I then came back later that week and they replaced the part. I asked for an invoice and was told that I was "all set" and left without one. I took my car home and the service light came on the following day. I immediately called the dealership and was told they would make it right since I have been through three weeks of them trying to fix my car. I call after many times and leave an astronomical amount of messages. I finally get through and was told to tow it there and they would take care of it. A week later the salesmen calls to tell me I am out of warranty, and I was on my own. Not only are they not willing to help you and make things right, but willing to waste your time over several weeks just to tell you they will not fix your car. (Keep in mind this was through the Christmas holiday and trying to keep transportation to a job). I have made requests to speak with a supervisor and was denied the opportunity over many occasions. I finally get the car fixed out of my pocket and the part to fix it was $65 with two hours of labor. So they were willing to treat a customer with absolute disregard of appreciation and compromise their integrity over $65! I never write reviews but I am so compelled to strongly advise not to shop here ever! Please look elsewhere for a car. This is the worst experience I have ever endured and would not wish it upon anyone. My salesmen was a wolf in sheep's clothing. read more

Hard to get behind this car dealer after our experience..... bought a 2012 luxury SUV crossover type and they had priced it at the high end of suggested retail so it took a lot of negotiation to get a fair price. They claim they're at the low end of suggested retail, BS. But this was not our issue with K & R. It was the customer service.....we had to fight to get an good interest rate with very good credit rating. We know it's a bait and switch issue because they seem to present the high options first but when I suggested we walk, they discovered more options. Next, we noticed the detail shop was closed already and the car was a mess. Mud on the floor and food containers in the glove box. I mentioned this and they said I could come back and get a high end detail and some scratches fixed. The next issue was they put new tires on and claimed a full service and alignment, again BS. The tires were no names and cheap ones and the car pulled to the left. Things I noticed when we test drove it but the salesman said they would make right. This is all leading to my main point. We went back at the end of the week and the salesperson couldn't remember us or the issues he said they would fix. The car detailing guy came down to get the car and said he couldn't fix the scratches and took it to quickly wash the outside and never touched the inside. When I pressed on the alignment and scratches the sales manager said we would have to make an appointment and come back after we had made this appointment before coming back WTF. No interest in discussing it either. The salesperson never came out to talk to us. We wasted our time driving 1 hour to get there with an appointment. I was pissed. That's not the end, a few weeks later after washing the car we noticed a lot more scratches and more continued to show up. I took the car to a local detail shop and explained the issue and he said this is common practice at dishonest dealers as they use color wax to hide the scratches which will eventually come off with washing. We paid to align it and got some of the scratches buffed out but the good deals and customer service they advertise on TV about don't work, BEWARE!!! read more

Took it back within days...they said it was a recall issue, WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT OR CHECKING IT....well if it was why didnt they fix it before selling it? Then made us wait a week for Rowe Ford To do the recall....it wasnt the issue...then was told SORRY...out of time with K & R Warranty! We were then told it would be covered under the Ford Warranty....NOTHING WAS COVERED BY ANYONE...They replaced a random part in the transmission which didnt fix the issue...Then told they COULDNT DO ANY MORE...AND TO SELL THE CAR! The dealer (John) was very nice and got me a great deal. He really works to get you the best interest rate. I took one star off because they put a huge decal with the dealership's name on it across my back window. Hopefully it will be easy to remove. I have purchased 4 cars at K&R and they have treated me awesome. Any issues they have taken care of it. My son just bought a 2013 Dodge Ram and is very happy. Needed car mats and we were told to go pick some out and they would pay for them. Needs a new key and work done because of the check engine light coming on. Ripped of to the tune of a $500 non -refundable deposit. We stopped there after our truck was wrecked by a distracted driver to see what local used car dealers had in the way of mid sized SUVs , vans and wagons. We found a nice looking Ford FreeStyle (they stopped making them we later found out - for good reason no doubt) and were told that it was a great vehicle , cream of the crop, luxury vehicle, good price, safe, reliable, volvo chassis etc. We naively put down the $500 deposit then went home to do our research. We found out that the CVT transmission was very unreliable, that the FreeStyle had major, ongoing , repeated brake problems and lots of safety issues, some rated extremely critical. We took all this info to them and asked for a refund since they misrepresented the car. At that point we probably would have bought a different car from them. When they basically said, too bad so sad, find a car on the lot and we might apply the $500 to that car, we walked away to a dealer across the street (Rowe) and found a much better car for the same price with a better safety record and a warranty. I would recommend that you stay away from K and R Auto Sales in Auburn Maine. read more

I am not happy with my purchase. I have called several times with no call backs. I just needed to make an appointment for a detail of the car and was told by the salesman that it would take 2 weeks. Than later told no that can be done right away but still no appointment made for that. Also there is tire pressure light on and was told that was an easy fix and just need to make an appointment with VIP and that will be fixed but still no appointment made for that. I get put on hold for a long wait times and no one ever answers and eventually get hung up on several times. There is a floor mat missing. Only have 3 floor mats with my purchase and have addressed that with no follow up on that. Was told I would get a call back on that as well but still no call back. I was told I would get a full tank of gas when I purchase my vehicle but was told to come back for that when I come in for the detail but still no appointment for that. When I address my concerns I get told they are busy and that is the reasons for no communication. I am sorry I work in customer service and if I said that to customers they would not be shopping with my company ever again. I purchased a vehicle on Friday May 11th for $13K for a used car and I expect for some communication and should have some outcome by now with my concerns. I called regarding these concerns to the salesman on Saturday morning and was told I would get a call back but no one ever called me. Than told again today I would get a call within 30 minutes and no one called me. Poor communication and very poor customer service.
