I finally stopped by Dean's safe as I've been driving by it on my way to Costco for years! Kim was very helpful in the store in showing me different safes for what I was looking to use it for. I waited a while because things got busy to finally order it. It was an easy process because she had saved my in person visit details so I just had to tell her the safe I wanted and she could order it. Safe took about 2 weeks to be delivered. Stephanie called and booked my delivery date. Chris and Anthony were the friendly gentlemen that came to my house and answered my questions and gave me some good advice. They had professional equipment and made sure to handle everything carefully to avoid any damage to other things like my floors. Highly recommend Dean Safe. While their prices aren't the cheapest, they have a solid reputation in the community and it's always nice to support a small business. The process is seamless which I also appreciate. Order in person or over the phone and schedule delivery after. They also give you an estimate on delivery costs and bolting. PS. Just had a safe delivered by Dean Safe. I would give 5 stars for that alone. The persons who delivered the safe were awesome. They had this crazy hand truck to move the safe and bring it up steps. The only issue was it was crazy loud. I had asked if it was going to be that loud going up stairs, movers confirmed it would be. I explained I had a 1 year old who just went to sleep. Immediately the movers said, "we're carrying it up by hand". And they did! It was great. And they were careful with the wood floors. Just a great experience. We bought a safe from this location in 2020. Yesterday the lock of the safe (the wheel in front) spun loose and stopped working. Our valuables are now locked in, and inaccessible. We called Dean Safe, and their response was callous! They said the lock only has a 1 year warranty and said they've never heard of this defect before !!! They provided the number to their locksmith, and this locksmith was completely clueless too! Apparently, they've never heard of the wheel lock breaking down. Jeanie, our sales rep was awesome. They're prompt , professional and very easy to work with. My husband was very particular with a type of safe that we needed and Jeanie came through! The safe that we wanted was back ordered so she told us ahead of time when we were looking which safes were back logged and set the right expectation. We told them about 1.5-2 weeks for when we needed the safe to be delivered. We were given a 3 hour window before the delivery date and the morning of we were given a one hour window and confirmed when they were 20 minutes away. Like I said, super professional and easy to work with, when they arrived they promptly got to work and laid down protective blankets and all those stuff to make sure they don't scratch or damage the flooring. Today I took delivery of my first real safe. I did a lot of shopping around and finally landed on Liberty Safes. After countless times building them online, I was all set to buy one. Liberty listed Dean Safe as a platinum dealer for my area, and now I know why. I called Dean Safe to place my order, and turned out that the exact one I wanted wasn't available in stock at the moment, but they were quick to tell me they would order it and have it in about 6 weeks. So I asked what they did have in stock that was similar. The woman (there were actually 2 women I spoke with on different occasions, both very helpful) on the phone was very nice, and very happy to take time out of her day to explain to me the differences in models, and setups. She explained to me what safes they had in stock, and even emailed me pictures so I could have a better idea of what I was talking about. After I finally made up my mind, and ordered my safe, it was time for the up sell. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything I didn't want, and she knew everything there was to know about each options offered. We locked in a deal and set a delivery date. The delivery drivers called me the morning of to confirm, and then called me again when they were about 30 minutes out, which was perfect because I was at work and had to meet them at home. They unloaded the safe and moved it inside with ease. Before un-boxing it, one of them closed my front door, which I thought was odd, but they said it was for privacy so that neighbors wouldn't see what it was and it wouldn't draw attention to me which was something I never even considered, however I was very impressed with their level of professionalism, and concern. After a step by step walk through of how to adjust shelves, and how to set me own lock combo they loaded up and left, taking every bit of trash and sign they were here with them. Flawless. Overall it was an outstanding job by everyone I came into contact with. I would give them more than 5 stars if possible. These guys are as good as it gets. Over the last few years, I've visited a few safe stores and vendor displays at Southern California county fairs because I knew I would eventually need to purchase a safe. Dean Safe Company stood out to me because their sales people were really friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to just want to help me find the safe that would fit my needs. Once the time came to purchase a safe, there was really only one place that I felt would have the safe I needed AND the services to support it. I called the Culver City store and spoke to Kim. I told her what safe I wanted, the options I wanted with the safe, and the particulars of the delivery and placement of the safe. Kim handled it all. She set me up with the safe, had the options installed, and detailed the delivery instructions with the delivery crew then sent me the invoice via email. My experience over the weekend was positive! I didn't catch her name, but the lady saw my father waiting for me to arrive, and invited him inside. She showed him the product line and repeated the intro once I arrived. Transparent fair prices, wide selection, and a customer focus - What more is there? Having always been one to do my homework on purchases like this I visited with three stores in the Los Angeles/Culver City area to determine which safe I would buy. What attracted me to Dean Safe was their transparency in pricing. I was able to search Google/Yahoo for model numbers of safes I liked and make a true apples to apples comparison unlike one of their competitors I visited. On like units I found Dean to be more competitive, responsive with concerns, and willing to educate me on the options available. I must say I am extremely impressed with every aspect of my purchase from Dean Safe. I must admit it was quite confusing looking on their website, there are so many different safes that I had trouble deciding which safe was best for my needs. That is where Kim comes in. I just want to start off by saying, this has been the easiest and most pleasant experience I've ever had with a large purchase. Like many others, I started my search on the internet only to walk away feeling more confused than ever. I don't know if you've ever tried buying safes on the internet, but there is so much conflicting information, I didn't know what to believe. I was looking for a fireproof safe to keep work records. Dean Safe came with high ratings. I worked with Jackie. She was extremely knowledgeable about the different safes. That was really helpful, as there are way more lines of safes than I had realized. After my visit, I called Jackie several times over the nxt weeks to clarify dimensions I had to work with. She showed genuine concern making sure she gave me the correct data needed, like the depth of the handle from the front and side of the safe. The only minor glitch came on the day of delivery. I had ordered shelves that spanned the entire width of the interior, but when I looked inside, there was a vertical beam and several half shelves. I called to verify my order. Jackie told me that they had to be made at the factory and that they would be shipped shortly. It would have been a true 5 star review if I had been told this ahead of the day of delivery, so I have to give them 4 1/2 stars. The shelves arrived about a week later. read more

I 've been in the market for a DOJ compliant locking gun box since January 1st. 2018, so when I go to the range I'm not breaking any of the new California gun laws. When I walked into their Showroom I was greeted by Jeanie and Jack. Jeanie walked me through a vast variety of portable safes, with biometric locks, key locks and others which didnt require batteries. Jeanie helped me by demonstrating the diffrent safes. I chose the Stealth 17 gauge with the piano lock. I stayed within budget and actually paid less than I expected. Where to start??? This experience has been awful. I DO NOT recommend you even start to consider Dean's for a residential purchase. Let's get started with the purchase process. I went into the storefront and met Jackie, who was frazzled as there were a couple of customers in the store. I patiently waited while she helped them and answered the phones. Finally, when we connected, getting a recommendation was impossible. She was so non-committal on brands and features it wasn't helpful. I went home and researched, went back to the store and looked a couple of times (getting no additional guidance/advice), and finally made up my mind to buy an Amsec safe. The day before I went in to buy, I checked the Fort Knox website and found they were running a killer Memorial Day sale which basically gave $1000 in free upgrades. I went in the store to "ink the deal," and again, in traditional fashion waited. When I spoke to Jackie, she had no clue about the deal. We spent a long time researching, trying to call Fort Knox, etc. Finally, she took a printout of the website and wrote the deal up. I paid in full thinking I was being a good customer and helping a local business with cash flow. I waited and waited finally, 9 weeks later my safe is built and scheduled for delivery at the end of week 11. Delivery day arrives and it is to take place between 1 and 3. I got a call the day prior confirming this. I was at the gym at 1130 and got a call from the delivery guys. They wanted to come then. I told them I'd hurry back and they said they'd be there around 1215-1230. I raced home and they arrived at 1245. The first guy, Jose, was very nice and calm. I showed him where I wanted the safe and he expressed concern, but was cool about it. His partner came in and clearly didn't want to be working. He had a terrible attitude about the delivery and I could tell then he didn't want to do it. Now, some background... I was never asked to measure the doorways nor given dimensions for the delivery. I had measured the space and compared to the dimensions online, but didn't even consider the doorways. They were to bring the safe in through the garage into a first floor interior room. The door with the frame was 1" too narrow. Likewise, the door to the internal room was similarly too narrow. In the process of the delivery, they were measuring everything. Delivery driver 2 needed to take the safe off the truck to measure it and threatened with leaving it in my garage if it was too big. Jose remained cool the whole time and said to the effect of "this is just part of the job." They got the safe in, opened it, and it was 1" too big to fit through the doorways. Driver 2 wanted to leave the safe in the garage and I told him no way and to box it back up and take it away. They did, and now I am again safe-less. I called Dean's and the manager Bo is gone for the day. Jackie the sales person is out today for the long weekend. Of course they are closed Labor Day, Monday. The owner is supposedly in all day meetings so there is absolutely no one to speak to about my experience or next steps. Ultimately, my opinion is that this company is oriented around commercial customers. I'm super disappointed in my experience and just want the safe at this point... If you're a residential customer, I recommend you look elsewhere. read more
