My boyfriend had an emergency tooth extraction and Megan and Monique were explaining procedure costs and insurance etc and were very thorough. -1 star for systems being down (to no fault of their own) My boyfriend couldn't get any kind of pain relief after the procedure because they had to use a paper prescription and the pharmacy wouldn't take it. The doctor couldn't call in a prescription either and didn't have access to send it over until the next day and they changed the prescription entirely to just ibuprofen. read more

So far so good! Clean smelling office with really friendly and INFORMATIVE staff. Dr. Libby is fantastic!!! He's so patient, he seriously takes his time with patients getting to know them as people and their dental history/issues. He was so personable and asked questions that most dentists don't care to ask. I am so impressed with him and it makes sense why his staff is the way they are, he sets the standard of care very high. The technology in this office is OUTSTANDING, most offices say state of the art but they're not, Libby dental is truly state of the art. They have multiple x ray options for different patients needs, they have equipment that makes this office a true one-stop-shop. All in all, this office is refreshing. Went to him for several years but when they made a night guard it was so tight I couldn't take it off and went back to the office for help. They tried to fix it but it still was too tight so I returned again and same thing. I was NEVER able to wear it and no one cared. Dr. Libby never returned my call. First, I want to state that I am a difficult patient. A downright pain in the butt to be totally honest! Dr. Libby is a true professional. Incredible patience, very kind, and informative. He was a treat to work with on a customer service level. On top of that, my teeth turned out amazing. I had a bad skateboarding accident when I was about 18 and broke out my front four teeth. It also pushed the front two teeth up into my septum. I needed to get these teeth redone. It was an extremely difficult case. Dr. Libby and Utah Valley Dental lab worked together to create a beautiful smile for me. They did a full diagnostic wax up and then the permanent restoration with pink porcelain on the upper part of the crowns to hide the length of the teeth and damage to the gingiva. Just amazing work! Let's face it, if you enjoy going to the dentist you're probably a psychopath, a masochist or both. That being said, I wouldn't say I enjoyed going to Libby Dental, per se, but I did have an overall good experience. As far as I know there are two dentists operating there: Dr. Miller and Dr. Libby. I feel like this is relevant because every dentist provides a different experience. I exclusively saw Dr. Miller and I don't remember the name of the hygienist I saw but she was very nice as well. In fact, everyone from the front desk to the dentist's chair was very nice and helpful. Martha, at the front desk, is really the face of the office. She was very helpful in scheduling the procedures and answering any questions I had. The work I had done was a bit more than routine. I had not seen a dentist for the better part of a decade so several of my teeth required Crowns and other dental things I can't remember the name of. Since my mouth was getting a complete overhaul they broke everything down into multiple visits. I think in total I was in and out of the office 4 or 5 times over the course of several months. I will say they're not cheap but good things/services rarely are. Going in for a consultation is usually free and I would suggest Libby Dental to anyone considering having work done. read more

Initially, I was not going to update this review because i just wanted to be done with the whole thing. However, I have received email after email, text message after text message, and at this point, I'm really annoyed and do not want someone else to go through this just to get their teeth taken care of. My first appointment, as you can see, was a wonderful experience. I even got a rose which was lovely. I asked for an estimate of the costs of my treatments that the dentist had told me I needed that day, so they provided me with a treatment plan, which I had a printed copy of and left with. At my first appointment at which they were doing actual work, the dental assistant came over and provided me with another list of treatments, on the same treatment plan paper as I had gotten at my consultation. It had a few different treatments that weren't included on the first one, and a different price that was different. The first estimate had been in the low $2000s, and this new one was showing the high $2000s, albeit with different treatments. I was extremely confused. Upon talking to the receptionist who provided me with the first estimate, she explained to me that the first one was the "prioritized" treatments according to the dentist's suggestions. I was like "Excuse me? That's very deceptive." Why in the world would someone ever want an estimate when they were deciding which business to go with that only includes HALF of the services you are going to need? And furthermore, if the first estimate only included half, that is something you iterate to the patient, not after they have already applied for a line of Care Credit maxing out at exactly how much the first treatment was going to cost. It was very shady and clearly infuriating. I got one deep cleaning done there because I had already taken out the Care Credit line and just wanted to get it over with. However, I decided that I wanted nothing more to do with the office because I didn't want to repeatedly be deceived regarding pricing or who knows what else. I sent an email explaining my issues and that I would like them to please cancel my future appointments. Then, Dr. Libby asked if we could have a phone conversation about what had happened. The first time window which we agreed upon, he didn't call. He called 30-40 minutes after that time window expired, and of course, I was busy. The second time I allowed him to call during a window of time, he never called at all. But it gets better. After a few weeks pass, I start receiving emails from the reception suggesting that Dr. Libby and I had some trouble connecting and that he would still like to discuss everything with me. No doubt to avoid me going back and changing my review here. I ignored the emails for a while, but then realized when I got an appointment notification for another teeth cleaning that they hadn't in fact cancelled all my appointments after all. To avoid being charged for anything, I sent another email asking them to cancel all future appointments. Still got another email requesting me to discuss my issues with another receptionist on the team, because obviously, my issue was personal, so if they had a new person dealing with me, it would go away? Anyway, still been getting reminders from them telling me I'm due for an appointment, both by text and by email. I unsubscribed/opted out of both, but DO NOT go here unless you want to be paying twice as much money as they tell you that you will on your consultation. read more

I was so nervous going into this morning and Dr. Libby calmed my nerves and reassured me I was in good hands & boy was I ever! I didn't feel a single thing I'm not even kidding! Everyone here at Libby Dental is awesome! I found them through Opencare after avoiding the dentist for a few years and I'm very happy in my decision to choose Libby Dental. They happen to be in my network and they have flexible hours that accommodate my scheduling needs. I had a good amount of work needed and Dr. Libby recommended sedation dentistry in my case which ended up being amazing. For sedation, you come in at your appointment time and they give you some medicine under your tounge. They give you eyeshades and headphones with relaxing music and before you know it, everything is finished and you're back at home! The aftercare they provide is just as amazing. Dr. C has seen me twice since to adjust my fillings to make sure everything feels 'right' with my bite. They are really there for your comfort and if anything bothers you, they are happy and more than willing to address any of your issues. When it came to payment for my services, I was given a detailed explanation of services recommended. Being a numbers guy, I appreciated being able to see everything broken down. They are there for your questions so if you receive your estimate and don't ask questions, you are really doing yourself a disservice. This place is amazing! They literally changed my life. Due to many factors I needed a full mouth restoration. I had many failing and missing teeth, and the ones I had left were not going to last long. I started this process of researching dentists a few months before going to Dr. Libby's office. The thought of having all my teeth pulled and the recovery involved and most importantly the COST, was making me dread this entire process all together. I had done a handful of consultation already, so when I walked into the office the first time, I already felt at ease as a first impression. Megan was great during my initial consultation and listening to my journey on this. Then I meet with Dr. Libby and again felt immediately at ease. I knew I was in trusted hands and we scheduled a surgery for all on 6 for both upper and lower arches. I had all my remaining teeth pulled and 12 implants put in. I have huge fear of dentist and so I went with sedation dentistry and it was cheaper than general anesthesia. This worked great and I don't remember a thing. I used it a few months later to uncover the implants as well. Also along the way both Aby and Leslie were amazing technicians as well. It took about 10 months to go from surgery to my final screw in zirconia dentures. I had a few different sets along the way as healing occurred and they were great at getting them comfortable in my mouth. They gave me the TLC I needed and it was much appreciated for making me feel so comfortable every single visit. The personal touch of Dr. Libby along the way was always there as well. He was involved and part of the the process the whole way. I felt like some other dentists I meet, I would consult with them, but probably never see them much after that. They were also very responsive with any calls or texts if I had any questions along the way. This pretty expensive process as well and compared to other places I consulted with, I got 4 more implants for a few thousand less than all other places. That was a great value and gave me the piece of mind to know I will have a healthy and stable mouth long term. Anyone who is looking at any type of full arch replacement, please see them as you will be in great hands! read more

I recently visited the office due to moving and needing to find a new dentist. On my first visit, I was told I had severely infected teeth that immediately needed to be pulled and replaced with implants for almost $16,000. They explained it was "medically necessary" because it was making me sick and the staff me feel like I needed to do it right then and there. The reason for my bad review is because of how pushy and insistent the doctor was being. I decided to sleep on it and went to two other dentists for a second (and third) opinion. Both dentists found no sign of an infection in either tooth. They also let me know that there was no medical necessity to have the teeth pulled immediately, and that I still had a few years before having to deal with any type of pulling procedure. I am very upset with how I was treated by this dentist office and felt others should be made aware. read more

I have been to various dental practices in the San Diego area - running the gamut from more clinic-style to traditional offices- and Libby Dental is at the high end of the spectrum of overall customer experience. Dr. Libby and his staff are all terrific! From the reminder call from Megan and conviviality of all I feel like a welcome patient and not just another number to be served. The entire team is professional and respectful of my time which is appreciated. But I'm there for the dentistry. I recently had two fillings and the procedure could not have gone smoother. Dr. Libby and his assistant Martha spent a few minutes discussing the procedure with me and then got to work. They have modern technology and equipment which help with comfort and AV distractions to make time fly by. Dr. Libby has also installed a crown previously and that procedure went well. My hygienist is Linda who does a fantastic job! I believe this is the most healthy my teeth have ever been thanks largely to her care. One consideration is that this first class experience is not offered at coach prices, but I feel reasonable for the level of care that I receive and probably on par with other higher-end dental practices.
