This place is so cute and aesthetic I've been wanting to try it for a while now and I finally had that chance! When I came in I was the only one in the restaurant so of course the service was pretty fast. I ordered the hot Cheeto K-dog with solely mozzarella as my filling. I thought it was pretty darn good! The cheese was super gooey and I thought the hot Cheetos just pulled everything together. I also ordered the strawberry matcha. It was pretty good, I did get a good taste of the strawberry. However, I think next time I'll order a smoothie- I think that would be more up my alley. I also bought 4 donuts to take home. I got the tiramisu, the ube, the biscoff cheesecake - which actually does taste like a cheese cake, and of course I got their most popular donut the strawberry milk cream. I was able to take a nibble out of each donut and I must say the donuts were delicious- the cream cheese filling is fantastic. My favorite flavors were the Biscoff and the strawberry. There is only one person taking order, boxing donuts and making drinks in the front, and another making hotdogs in the back. One of my favorite donut spots in the suburbs. I usually am not a fan of filled donuts, but these I will stop by for when I'm in the area. They are so fresh and the filling is perfect. The filling is flavorful and compliments the donut. I've had the ube and choco crunch. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of them. They also offer Korean corn dogs and drinks, but I didn't get any this time around. I was surprised that there were a good amount of donuts left in the afternoon. I've had donuts from here once before my visit to the actual store. My friend got me the ube donut which made me fall in love with this place. This place is an hour away from but I was in the area so of course I decided to make a pit stop. I usually don't like cream-filled donuts but the ones from here are so delicious. This place in St. Charles was so cute all on the inside, definitely in a Sanrio sort of way. The inside was clean and quiet. I decided to go with vanilla, strawberry, and ube to take home. I ate them the next day and these donuts are best when eaten immediately. The cream and dough don't hold up well over a short period of time. All my fault but they were still good. There are not the traditional donuts and are filled with plenty of cream. The cream is what makes these donuts and I found it to be light, milky, and sweet. The brioche dough was soft and pillowy. They made one of the better iced coffees and iced matcha lattes I've ever had. The matcha latte came with an almost Tupperware-like material for a cup with a cool top that allowed me to open and reseal the drink. The woman behind the counter was relatively nice and answered a lot of our questions well about which donuts are popular and which ones were seasonal. The strawberry donut was great. They aren't like other donut shops in that they seem more balanced on sweetness without risking blandness. I actually like and appreciate that. The donut filling tasted like a strawberry milkshake. They slice real, flawless strawberries to decorate the outside too. The pastry was done perfectly to my liking and seemed to be in the oven just at the right temperature and the right time duration. The shop seemed to attract a wide array of clientele from coffee dates to people quickly dropping in of all demographics. A fun experience! We went for dessert after dinner I was worried the donuts would be stale in the evening, but they weren't. They tasted and felt very fresh. I've been wanting to go to Dear Donuts for months, but it's a long drive. Thankfully we were able to pair it with other activities in St Charles and Geneva. There's ample parking in this plaza, and it's pretty spacious inside Dear Donuts. We ordered Pina Colada, Ube, and Chocolate Crunch Donuts. I was actually very disappointed as we walked to the store because garbage bin outside the store was overflowing. Garage spilled out everywhere. No one had the time to pick up the garbage and inside the restaurant the tables were all dirty. I was skeptical even eating here. It left me wondering how cleanly the workers are when they prepare the food. They ran out of their signature donuts and we came around 2:30 in the afternoon, so we tried the K Corn Dog, cream cheese garlic donut and the choco crisp croissant. We also got the pandan soft serve. Nothing special about anything we ordered. We did enjoy the croissant. Service was poor as well. The person taking my order was actually rude and not very friendly. Absolutely unbelievable donuts. They're crispy, generously filled, and they taste gourmet, not like some overly corn-syrupy junky "cream" inside. The coffee is great too - the espresso isn't overly acidic, which for me is perfect. The vibe is nothing to write home about. Several reviews have indicated they sell out quick so I was adamant in leaving the house early and getting my hands on two boxes of donuts - one for us and the other for my cousin. We arrived around 8:30 AM on a Saturday and there was a short line. Nonetheless, we were able to get all six flavors in two boxes: 1) Madagascar vanilla 2) Choco crunch 3) Strawberry milk cream 4) Ube 5) Peach yogurt 6) Biscoff cheesecake My family and I enjoyed a few donuts fresh in the store but saved a few to take home. For those who plan to take donuts to go, especially on a hot summer day, I would highly suggest that you prepare ahead of time and bring a cooler bag with dry ice. Some may say $4.50 for a doughnut is outrageously expensive. However, these Korean brioche cream doughnut, a rare find in the Midwest, are a made-from-scratch delicacy that have gone through multiple proofing stages to achieve the extra soft texture. Each doughnut is filled with a light, hand-whipped cream. My parents are generally indifferent about doughnuts but it's now been two months since our last visit and they still have yet to stop raving about them. Is the Dear Donuts hype worth it!? I've seen this business all over my tiktok and instagram fyp. My partner and I waited one hour in line to try the infamous brioche donuts! The line went slower than expected but it's nice to see that they are staying true to quality with the high demand. We got the Ube and Banana Pudding (Sunday special only) donuts. For 10:30am on a Sunday, the only donut they had sold out of was the tiramisu. I HIGHLY recommend ordering 24 hours in advance with a pick up time to beat the line. Now for the donuts. The Ube came with a powdered outside and classic ube filling inside. The ube filling was not overly sweet but we didn't love the powdered outside. The Banana Pudding donut had a sugary outside which we liked more but the banana filling was dense. Not every bite will be a filling bite. There's ample parking since it's shared with other businesses, but be warned that Google maps might lead you to the wrong side of the building. I got a donut and regular boba tea. Can't remember if they offered sweetness adjustments for the boba or not. It was pretty standard and leaned a little sweeter than my liking, but it did hit the spot for me that morning. The donut was also pretty sweet in my opinion, but I expected that. Only mentioning this because another review said it wasn't too sweet hahaha. The donut is filled to the brim too. We got three donuts. It was ube, black sesame, and pumpkin cheesecake. The donuts were very good. They are soft and not too sweet even though there is filling inside. We also ordered ube bubble tea with rainbow popping boba and their milk tea with rainbow popping boba. My milk tea was ok nothing extraordinary. Very cute Korean-style donut shop with a unique variety of pastry and drink offerings. I feel like people who are ragging on Dear Donuts based on the price point are being unfair. These are very well made brioche donuts and pastries. This review is from a visit in November. I had the Madagascar vanilla and the pumpkin cheesecake and both were perfectly fluffy and delicious. I also appreciated that they weren't overly sweet and that the flavorings came through really well. I particularly enjoyed the vanilla custard and was also surprised that the donuts held up really well. They advise you to eat them as soon as you can as they can become soggy if not eaten quickly but I ate half of both and saved the other halves in the fridge and they still tasted good later in the day and even into the next day. The staff was very friendly and although it's in a strip mall they have done a good job of giving the space a cozy cafe feel. read more
