An absolutely essential spot for donuts. Don't be fooled by the unassuming environment/menu, which also includes egg rolls. I have not found better donuts in the immediate suburbs, or in the city for that matter. Lovely owners will always throw in a few donut holes for free. read more

First time trying this local donut place, another place that makes their donuts fresh daily. Stopped in around 9:45-10 am so they had limited availability but still some good variety. The vibe is old school coffee shop where you can see the regulars hang out in the morning for their daily coffee. Grabbed some freshly baked glazed donut holes and a couple of long johns. Donuts and donut holes were approved by my kiddos who definitely asked when we're going back. The person behind the counter was super nice and welcoming. Will definitely be back soon! read more

Great donuts! The puffy glazed cake was so good that I had to grab a picture quick before I scarfed the rest of down. Will definitely be stopping in again in the future. Ordered the glazed cake, a regular glazed, and a vanilla long john and they all tasted great according to everyone. The cashier was so friendly and was even nice enough to give me an extra threaded glazed donut because she said that they had a more left over than usual for that time of day. It was a little after 3pm and they still had a decent selection but some were sold out. It's really like any donut shop inside so not exactly the place I would go to hang out but it was clean and had good seating so I wouldn't think twice about sitting down to dunk my donuts into a hot cup of coffee or meeting a client there. read more

The donuts are fresh and delicious. The 2 Asian people working in there were so grateful and helpful. I bought some to bring to my grandparents have for coffee. We enjoyed the fresh donuts. Parking was easy. Fresh coffee was available. When I got out of my car I could smell how fresh the donuts were. The man who helped me made my morning. I live further up north in the Crystal Lake area, so my go-to donut shop is Country Donuts... but when I get a chance to drive to St. Charles, Bosa is king, and Bosa would be king of the north if they had a shop there. My favorite donut used to be the chocolate long john, but here the chocolate buttermilk is an absolute obsession. There's a crumbly crunch that accompanies the perfectly smooth chocolate frosting that I crave any time I'm in the area. I usually buy 2-3 since I'm not around here very often. Lastly, from an ambiance standpoint, the two owners are the sweetest people you've ever met and always have smiles on their faces. That's enough to make you want to keep supporting this business. read more

I was in the area for a business meeting that ended early so I turned to Yelp for a place to grab a donut. Bosa is a cute stand-alone building with plenty of parking. I ordered my favorite old-fashioned buttermilk and a double chocolate. The nice young woman who waited on me commented it was a slow morning and she threw in an extra donut and a couple of donut holes. So generous! The old-fashioned was perfect -- crispy edges and an almost creamy interior! The donut holes were airy and delicious. I had the double chocolate one later in the afternoon. Another winner! And the free frosted blueberry was still good for the next morning's breakfast. Wish I lived closer so I could visit here more often. Highly recommended! read more

We scored with an exceptional find today by visiting Bosa Donuts on Main Street in Saint Charles, Illinois. We have driven by this tiny establishment hundreds of times and this was the first time we stopped in, as we are eating our way down Main Street. We enjoyed the most amazing donuts, pumpkin donuts and apple cider donuts which came in both glazed and sugared, and a cake donut. For every donut you purchase, you also get a donut hole. The price was very reasonable. There was a large variety of donuts, including Fruity Pebbles and Cocopuff Cereal topped donuts, which appeared to be a favorite of the children. Fresh donuts kept coming out of baking area, as they were quickly being purchased and going out the front door. As we were exiting, there were croissants and chocolate iced croissants cooling on the counter. The service was super friendly. We sat in the dining area and enjoyed our donuts and conversation. It felt like you were sitting in grandma's kitchen, nothing updated or modern here, just good clean tables and chairs with real plants growing in the windows. Absolutely wonderful. read more

Donut place in Saint Charles. They have a really large selection of all different kinds of donuts. I bought 2 dozen for a class party and they were somewhat pricey, but all of the donuts were very tasty. The service is great, the people that work there are very friendly and they gave me 2 extra donuts as well as some donut holes. I definitely prefer Bosa donuts over Dunkin' Donuts read more

Stopped at 5:30am not opened. Web and door say open at 5am. Have stopped before between 6am and 7am and they failed to have several selections of their donuts made. I have given them several opportunities to service better but I'm done. Nice people, but when you say your open at a certain time, and your not, and when you don't have your product ready it's a failure. Either get out of bed and get started earlier, or post later hours. Very disappointed. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but never judge a book by it's cover :) My husband picked these up for us this morning, and we were very pleased by the selection as well as the pricing! He got there around 8:30am on a Sunday, and the cases were 1/2 to 3/4 full. 6 donuts for under $7! The ladies also threw in a free cinnamon bun! Want a dozen old-school, well-made classic donuts that won't cost you as much as filling up your empty gas tank? Bosa Donuts is for you. The owners are very nice, too. And their glazed yeast donut holes are outstanding and sometimes, they might toss of few of those in the bag for you.. The cake donuts usually have the wonderful light crispy exterior that I crave. The frostings are good and don't seem to be that weird stuff from a bucket that never develops a crust, like on donuts often found in grocery store bakeries. I can't comment coffee or anything else they sell, as I've only ever purchased donuts. I have had an occasional high-priced donut elsewhere that was actually worth the extra money, but most of the time, I have wished that I had been able to get a simple glazed buttermilk donut instead, like those from Bosa Donuts. read more

We heard about how Bosa is under new ownership and how great the donuts were from FB--the hype was on point! These are freshly made and delicious and big! Even my husband who's not a donut guy craves these. Me, I can be picky about donuts and these hit the mark. A little crispy on the outside, insanely fuffy on the inside. Not too sweet or gloppy. I've only been once. Apple fritter was one of the best I've ever had. It absolutely positively had apples! You don't find that much anymore. And it was Big. 1/2 for me 1/2 for a friend. Male owner while I was there carried on several phone calls on speaker, pretty loud. But Then he started chanting (to himself) Buddhist chants. Crazy cool to listen to. Lots of parking. I was there later in the day. Every 3 to 5 minutes someone was through the door to get donuts to go. I was there about 45 minutes. Front entry door loud gong when you open it. Keeps evil spirits away? Side entryway has no gong, no startle response. In the end a Very good donut and kind owners. read more

Visited for the first time this morning. Appreciated the good morning wishes as soon as I entered, as did every customer. My fresh, soft, and a good size donut is delicious. Definitely recommend this yummy stop for fresh donuts. Only change I recommend is that there is more Bavarian cream filling. Took me eating a half a donut before getting to the filling. I've always driven by this place and decided to finally try it and boy was it worth it. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile. There is something nostalgic about the set up of this place, it brought me back some memories. Donuts are fresh, delicious and good in size, and they have a wide variety. Best donuts we've ever tasted. Cake donuts are large, with a hefty weight and homemade taste, smothered in thick frosting that holds up and doesn't melt on the way home. Their maple frosted long johns beat the well known competition down the street hands down. No skimping on the maple frosting. No contest at all. Everything tastes hand made, because it is and not like it was spurted out of a dunkin machine in a central commissary miles away, baked and then frozen for delivery to a donut store where it's thawed and set out on a pretend baking rack. He even took some time to explain brewing techniques and recommended a scale that saved me $$, even though they did not stock it themselves. On receiving the order, there was a minor defect in a silicon gasket, and Eric immediately ordered a free replacement with Baratza. Despite living in San Francisco, I will recommend FGR for their great selection of artisan coffees and brew gear, excellent customer service that goes beyond lip service. I love donuts, and this place by far blows any other Donut shop out of the water (i.e. country donuts and dunkin) the price and quality of their DONUTS is unmatched and I've lived in Florida, orange county California, Tennessee and Australia to get quite enough to compare with. If you want coffee go to Starbucks or some other chain store. And don't complain about a 4 dollar minimum. Just be thankful for the quality and price and support a small business. Best raised glazed in town. The chocolate frosted yellow cake is also TOP NOTCH. Honestly, I've never tasted anything here that I didn't LOVE. The raised glazed doughnut holes are absolutely amazing, and honestly, whenever I'm there I buy out however many they have left. I am a COMPLETE DOUGHNUT SNOB. Freshness has been the biggest issue. On my most recent visit, my beloved apple fritter was so stale it was virtually inedible, and it's not the first time the donuts here have tasted like they'd been sitting around far too long. Fresh donuts should be the bare minimum at a donut shop. Service has been equally ho-hum; slow, indifferent, and not particularly welcoming. The atmosphere follows suit, with messy tables, sticky floors, and a dining area that has felt neglected on multiple visits. It's just not an inviting place to sit down with a coffee and donut. What makes it frustrating is knowing how good Country Donuts can be. The Crystal Lake location consistently delivers fresh donuts, good coffee, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Elgin lately has felt like the polar opposite. I'd love to see this location turn things around, but after several disappointing visits, I can't chalk it up to an off day anymore.
