But he died, and when I went for my next appointment, I had his partner Scott Hodas. Hodas talked me into having my dentures relined, even though they fit well. He said they had to be relined every so many years and I was overdue. So I agreed to let him reline my dentures. BIG MISTAKE. Since the reline, I have to use denture adhesive twice a day, and my upper plate is not snug. I often find it difficult to talk. When I went for my six month cleaning, I wanted to talk to Dr. Hodas about this. He looked at the denture adhesive I brought along and said that's what the adhesive is for.

The office staff are professional, friendly and basically don't take crap with missed appointments or anything (they'll chuckle if they read this, they had to get hardcore on appointments with me about 5 years ago when I had a handful of last-minute cancels due to some repeated illnesses). Their cleanings are gentle, they've done same-day fillings and an extraction if needed for me and otherwise are just great. Anyway, went in today for my first cleaning since COVID-19 breakout. I have to say I was VERY impressed with their process and precautions. You wait in your car when you arrive for your appointment, call them to let them know you're there. They call you to come in, mask required, they do a temperature check and ask you to use their fancy hand sanitizer before you proceed to the exam room. They have a plexiglass divider hanging at the checkout station, and all employees wore masks and the hygienist & doc wore face shields as well. They did a great job keeping you away from other patients and it was very efficient considering. Highly recommend if you're nervous about a COVID-19 cleaning or other dental work.

I had never had a good experience with a dentist in my life (maybe because I have a tiny child mouth and I'm always being yelled at to "open wider"...) so, I almost never went to the same one more than a couple times. I was hesitant to start over at another place, but I am so glad I did... On walking in, you can tell everyone loves working there and that they are a family. Dr Greg and Dr Joanne (married couple practice, how nice?) are so sweet they provide their own figurative job security; plus they have gadgets for checking your teeth that I had never heard of (including this thingy you can rest your teeth on that holds my tiny child mouth open for fillings, etc.) and the whole staff is excellent at what they do. In addition to regular cleanings, I had Six-Month-Smiles (quick braces thingies) to re-straighten my teeth before my wedding, so I got to spend more time there than the average patient which allowed me more time to observe the interactions between the hygienists, assistants, techs, doctors, and other patients. No, but did they 30 years ago? no idea! I didn't feel properly informed for the cavity and was in for a rude surprise. I did ask what I should do to prepare ahead of time for the filling procedure... No mention of a needle. I got it done still, but they were dismissive of all my questions before and afterwards. Maybe I was drooling, or maybe they should have mentioned the dramatic details of the procedure, when they suggested I should get a filling, and then scheduled the filling . I know I'm a grown *ss adult, but damn. I switched my dentist right after this event.

Once I was able to go, I called the office in March 2024 to schedule a cleaning appointment and was told I couldn't due to a hadn't had a cleaning in two years (it actually wasn't 2 years but getting close to it). I spoke with the office manager and she informed me that it was the office policy that one would have to see the dentist first at a separate appointment before scheduling a cleaning if one had not had a cleaning in 2 years. I have never heard of this type of policy!! Again, I was a patient there for over 50 years. I asked the office manager to look at my chart and my situation but she didn't care. She just kept saying "it's the office policy". I was frustrated and hung up on her. The next thing I know I received a letter from the new owner of the practice informing me that I was dismissed from his office. I did nothing wrong to deserve this. The only thing I did was, I told the office manager she didn't care. Which she apparently did not. I fully know if it was the past owner, which I loved, she would of looked into my situation and I would have been seen for a cleaning without being seen first by the dentist at a separate appointment. It's a shame this new owner, not even knowing me, decided to dismiss a long time patient all because I said the office manager did not care. On a side note, I was able to schedule a cleaning appointment with my husband's office the next day without seeing the dentist first at a separate appointment . They had never heard of an office having a two year cleaning policy. I guess everything happens for a reason and the moral of this story is: if you don't care that an office manager or new owner of this office does not care about their patients then go there.

Since seeing her I went to two other dentists and found out a denture would not hold for 5 minutes in my mouth because I have so much bone loss there is nothing for a denture to hold onto. I have to have a bone graft before a denture would stay in my mouth. Chalasini said nothing about this, received approval from my insurance company, and if I hadn't had two other opinions would have gone ahead, losing over half my annual dental insurance "budget", and the denture would be sitting in a drawer somewhere, certainly not in my mouth. Check to see her overbilling and find another dentist for even the most basic things. Thankfully I sensed something was wrong with this office, and I was right. This office is a nightmare. After having issues all my life getting quality restorations (fillings and crowns) I found this place. Friendly staff, great quality restorations. Silber's assistant Sharon is so good at making temporary crowns, I'd be inclined to leave it in, if not for the material and cement not being permanent, lol! I've had small issues with repairs not holding up (rare occasion) but I attribute that to not wearing a bite guard at night (I'm a grinder) and if you have crowns that's a must! And everyone's mouth is different, we all chew differently. Your teeth also move around throughout your life (muscles and tendons reposition and re-tension). Plus, the deeper the filling, more likely for issues. And the more times a tooth has been worked on, it becomes more sensitized and the work becomes more complicated. He never pushes for more work than is necessary. He's made sure I'm pain free in any case. Even gave me a free replacement crown when it cracked (I have a heavy bite and wasn't wearing bite guard at that time). If you ever have discomfort after a restoration, just go back and they will do their best to make it right for free.

After the exam, Dr Reema reviewed the x-rays with me and pointed out exactly what needed to be done. She let me know what work she could do and what problems needed referral to an endodontist. At no point did I feel pressured into getting questionable/unnecessary dental work. She listened to my input and concerns sincerely and took adequate time to answer all my questions. Professional and personable. The staff seems very competent as well. X-rays were done painlessly without the bulky awkward cardboard pieces to bite down on, the cleaning was deep and thorough but not painful or excessively long. The front office staff handled my paperwork and insurance details while quickly addressing my questions. I was also provided a itemized cost estimate with lower prices than provided by my last dentist. The office is clean and everyone is friendly and easy to communicate with. If you are looking for a new dentist--I'm happy to recommend Dr Reema Ajluni and staff.
