I didn't get the impression that the previous vet we had gone to loved cats, whereas at Clarksburg Animal Hospital, they do :) We mostly see Dr. Greta, but have also seen Dr. Christy once or twice as well. They always run on time, spend ample time with us (as in, they're never in a rush to go to the next appt, so we can ask all the questions we like), and Dr. Greta always seems to remember our babies' medical history. She must record good notes as well in the medical records, because one time recently, Dr. Greta wasn't in, and we saw Dr. Christy, and Dr. Christy knew exactly what was going on. It's easy to get appointments as well - when it seems like we need to get in urgently, we've always been able to get in the same day... within a few hours. And finally, the office is also very efficient. When we need medical records to be submitted to insurance, they always send them ultra-quickly, which certainly helps with the insurance reimbursements. And it's a nice touch when we have to leave the babies there for dental cleanings, they text us when the procedure is beginning along with a photo of our kitties. We highly recommend Clarksburg Animal Hospital!

When I discovered this, I tried using the hydrogen peroxide/water mixture squirted down his throat, to get him to vomit up the raisins. That wasn't successful, so I started calling emergency vet services. I called poison control, after being unsuccessful in securing help from VRA or Blue Pearl, which are listed as having emergency vets on call. The poison control lady mentioned Clarksburg Animal Hospital, so I called. They said to bring him right in. Time is of the essense in poisoning cases. Raisins harm the dog's kidneys. He was taken right in back, given something to make him throw up, where he gave up 10 raisins, and about an hour later, he was discharged. We went back for 2 more blood work checks, after the weekend,to make sure his kidneys were getting back to normal. Very glad they were available. Toby Mattingly

I cannot recommend this place enough…read more We currently have a 6 year old suspected Siberian cat. He has been healthy all his life. He started coughing and we scheduled a wellness check but turned out to be a sick visit and they ran tests and considered all possibilities and proposed all possible diagnosis. I thought it was a quick visit but it ended up being 2 hours long. We then got referred to an emergency Pet Hospital where our cat stayed overnight to get more testing and drugs and left with medication. We were crying! A week in, his condition improved. But along the way, we were both novices in administering the oral liquid syringe medication and asked them if NVA could help us and they agreed! It's great to know that they are accommodating. Then an emergency came up and we aren't nearby and my dad has to bring our cat to NVA just to administer the medication. My dad doesn't know how to administer the medication. NVA agreed to help on short notice and show my dad how to do it. Honestly, without NVA, we would be lost and confused on how to take care of our cat. They are thorough and caring for pets and it shows. Even when things were looking grim for us, it was great to know that NVA had our back.

The report can easily be found online by searching his name and MDA Vet Board, then a clickable link to "view disciplinary actions" becomes accessible. I am grateful to have achieved some measure of justice for our beloved Archie and to know he did not die in vain. A few weeks after I was refunded by Bennett Creek Animal Hospital, Matthew Felrice made it clear in an email to me that he still would not check a patient's surgical incision prior to discharge because "that is the job of the techs". It is disturbing how Felrice takes no accountability and chooses to flaunt his lack of remorse to a client who is grieving the avoidable tragic demise of a family pet. His behavior is cruel and outrageous. Sloppiness, laziness, apathy, and harassment have no place in veterinary medicine. I stood up to this menacing bully and now he has the public permanent black eye he so deserves. I hope and pray my efforts spare other helpless animals and their unsuspecting owners. May sweet Archie rest in eternal peace. His life mattered and he deserved much better care, professionalism, and compassion from Matthew Felrice. Basic decency is foreign to this individual. Please keep your pets away from him and avoid anyone or any practice that endorses and enables such a disgrace to veterinary medicine. (end of update, 12/23)

The new veterinarian appears uncomfortable around dogs and does not seem to handle them with confidence or compassion. What once felt like a trustworthy and caring practice now feels more focused on profit than pets. If your dog is healthy and easygoing, you might still receive decent treatment. However, if your dog has any health or behavioral challenges, be prepared for a lack of empathy and support. The new management does not uphold the same standard of care. *Update* I used to think I was receiving good care at this vet, but after recently switching to a new veterinary clinic, I realized the service here was actually quite basic. The level of support, communication, and genuine care I'm now receiving makes it clear how much was lacking at this practice. What's even more disappointing is that the new vet provides significantly better care--and at a much more affordable price. It's frustrating to look back and realize I was overpaying for subpar service. I've lowered my rating because I no longer believe this clinic offers the quality or value pet owners should expect. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone looking for attentive, informative, and compassionate care.

We took our cat in for her senior exam last year and after the results, our doctor discussed her coming in either in December or January of this year. We got an estimate for the scope of work in early December, which was $425. I called in early January, after the holidays, and the first available appointment that could meet our schedule was in February, and nobody told us that our cat needed to be medicated so they could get a good blood pressure reading. We had to reschedule and brought her in yesterday. The doctor was thorough and we chatted, and then I left and went to pay the bill. The bill was $756 and when I questioned it, the person checking me out just shrugged her shoulders. I got home, looked at the receipt with the breakdown and the estimate and things were added without our knowledge or consent. I then emailed them that I wanted our records after the blood work results were in as we were switching vets. Beware! **Update** I spoke with them and we agreed to a partial refund of what we suggested. The process was still very friendly and mutually respectful and I have updated this back to 4 stars. Just make sure you are read the estimate and make sure they stick to it or at least update you on why it needs to change. We are very upset we needed to switch vets as our cats loved/love it there but sadly it is out of principle.
