In Miami I had a trusted caretaker, but here I knew no one. I asked at Woof on Edgewater and one of the numbers they gave me was for Cuddles. There were a couple more, but after making the first call to them and having a long conversation with Phil, I knew they were my kind of people! I didn't have to look any further. They have been running this business for years and their love for animals is palpable. Not only are they amazing with my pets (my somewhat skittish cat had NO problem hanging out while we talked), but they are incredibly professional in how they run their business. I can't even begin to sing their praises, Marejane and Phil are the BEST! Warm, loving to our pets, professional and sweet, you can't ask for more. We left Coco and Uriko under their care for a week and my pets love for them was quite apparent when my cat Uriko ignored me completely to love up on Marejane. I recently moved to the area and needed doggy day care while I was looking for a house. This place was recommended by an employee at a nearby pet store. But, she really didn't know anything about it other than it was close by. There's a large play area at the front, observable through large windows at reception, and there's a back area that you cannot see. From what I experienced, there's no air conditioning other than at reception. That leaves your dog exposed to Florida heat and humidity for the duration of the stay. Both times I picked up my dog, he was heat stressed and physically hot. There's plenty of water and it looks like the dogs can be hosed down, but that's not enough. Smaller dogs really suffer in heat, and dogs with skin problems shouldn't be watered down. There's no place for your dog to escape when they've had enough. The other issue is they're closed for four hours in the middle of the day. I didn't notice this the first time. I showed up and there was no one around and no cars in the parking lot. I'm sure there's a way to get your dog in an emergency, but I've never seen a business model like this. Last issue, is they will shamelessly flip around the pay pad and solicit a tip...for doing their job...that they're already paid for. Of course, they're all standing around looking at you. No pressure. I tipped because I don't want them to screw with my dog, But, they're not waiters or baristas. Their job IS the service; the service isn't extra. So, if you're actively fighting against out-or-control tipping culture, this alone is enough to avoid this business. Add the lack of air-conditioning, and there's just no reason.

My senior cat always runs and hides ( she has always been a scaredy-cat ) But for the other cat, Marci is the highlight of her day ;) I've been using Marci and her staff/service for about 6-7 years I believe. She is accommodating in every way. No matter if I'm planning a vacation out of state or have a last minute emergency, I can count on her to check I on my Fur Babies! She is very loving towards my cats and treats them like her own...as expected...and I always get updates with pictures, which is an added bonus!! Who wouldn't want a picture of your pet while you are away! On extended visits away, she is nice enough to get the mail, water the plants and check the house for any break ins or if something is out of place. Thankful to say, our sitter Mikayla not only showed up every day as scheduled, but she also sent updates via email for each visit per our request. Three times each day we got an update on Molly along with a couple of photos. Laura and the team made it super easy to get set up, to schedule the visits, and the overall experience was wonderful. Is Laura more expensive than the other service we used previously? Yes. Was she worth the extra costs? Absolutely. About a month ago, my 10yo chihuahua was showing some very severe signs of illness for 3 days…read more(vomiting, lack of appetite, fatigue). I called the clinic and was able to make an appt for just an hour later. (perfect since I don't have a car) Upon arrival, we were quickly escorted to a room and the doctor came in maybe 5 minutes later. After a short exam, we got the dreadful news that our baby's organs were shutting down from a possible tumor and there wasn't much we could do besides send her to intensive care. The staff was very understanding of our distraught and even let us stay in the room with her past closing until we were ready to leave. We didn't feel rushed at all. They even remembered us when we came two weeks later to pick up her ashes and they were truly amazing. I will definitely be coming back with my other pets in the future.
