I was supposed to receive a Kyleena, but was instead given a Mirena, which is typically recommended for women who have previously given birth. The insertion and post-procedure period were extremely painful, resulting in several days of debilitating pain and months of chronic discomfort afterward. Following placement, I developed a bacterial infection and was told it was likely due to my partner cheating, rather than being informed of the known risks associated with IUDs. Over the next several years, I experienced recurrent yeast infections and ongoing symptoms. When I contacted the office for help, I was repeatedly told I could not be seen for 7-10 days and that I should not treat the symptoms myself, an unrealistic expectation given the severity and frequency of the infections. I eventually expressed my desire to have the IUD removed after researching and strongly suspecting it was the root cause of my symptoms. I was told this was "not a good enough reason" to discontinue birth control or remove the device, and I felt dismissed and pressured to keep it despite ongoing harm. I kept the IUD for another year before finally having it removed against medical advice. Since removal, I have been symptom-free for the first time since the device was placed. This clinic failed to listen to me, failed to provide informed, patient-centered care, and failed to respect my autonomy. I strongly urge patients, especially young women, to advocate for themselves and seek second opinions if something feels wrong.

Guess he is too busy to care about his patients anymore. Maybe he has more patients than he can handle and is trying to lose a few. Two years ago, I needed to see him but his appointments were 9 months out. I really wanted to only see him so I figured I could wait. 2 weeks before my appointment, his office left me a message that he needed to cancel and I should call for a new appointment. Whelp, they couldn't squeeze me in and made a new appointment for 9 months away. I sent a Mychart message telling him my problem and can he give me something until my appointment comes. No response at all. I sent a 2nd message and again, zero response. I tried one more time, a nurse responded. Said she would ask him and get back to me. No response. I should have quit him then but still liked him so I stayed. Now, today, I have a simple yes/no question since my scheduled (and soon to be canceled) appointment is still 6 months away. Messaged the office 3 weeks ago. Got an immediate response from the nurse... she will ask him and let me know. No response. A week later asked again. Again got the same response from the nurse and again, no response since. I am so very disappointed, he used to be top notch, now I tell every woman I know to see any doctor other than MacDuff. He is the Worst!

His bedside manner could not be improved upon, he answers all questions, takes as much time as you need, explains things in detail, and sets your mind at ease. Our visits with him feel as safe and loving as getting advice from your (mine, not yours) father. The Dr.s are great but the front desk staff are ignorant to the patients and what they need. Their website and Google search also say they are open on Saturdays but I was told by Dr. Skilar that they haven't had Saturday appointments for years. A Gyn was the first on the list and not easy to find. How does one pick from a listing of names covered by insurance? I think I'm a tough-cookie of a patient, because I have lots of questions and lots of opinions of my own. What I truly want in a doctor is someone who continuously educates herself on her practice, is available for appointments, will answer urgent questions, and when she answers--will do so with direct and well though-out answers. Dr. Bressler is exactly that doctor. She helped my find a primary care physician also, and her team is helpful and friendly. One more thing...I was not familiar with DuPage Medical Clinic before my first appointment with Dr. Bressler. Over the last year, I have visited an internist, a dermatologist, and had several recommended tests (for aging women). Each appointment with each department at DuPage Medical has been timely--I mean, I haven't had to wait longer than 15 minutes, if that. Thought you all should know, because no one likes to be late for work because due to a long waiting room wait.

There is a popular group that all my friends use, but they don't take my insurance, so I was adrift for a while and could pretty much write a list of doctors you'd want to avoid in the Hinsdale/La Grange area. Dr. Lin was the fourth doctor I've seen in the past two years, and he has been absolutely excellent in helping me deal with a long-term chronic issue. I have never had a doctor take so much time and care in listening to me and answering my questions. He is absolutely outstanding, and I would recommend him to anyone. I also get right in and out when I have appointments with him--never kept waiting long.
