In business for over a decade, owner Jeffrey Chaffi has a knack for selecting the kind of vintage items people actually still want to buy. This store is located south of Wilton Drive on NE 4th Ave. A mile way is the main Decades store located off of Federal Highway. This store is a little more rustic than their Federal Highway store I previously visited. Decades Design Group specialize in the Mid-century modern design which spanned the years 1945 to 1969 during the United States post WWII period. MCM is known for its clean simple lines. The first floor showcases furniture, art, and household goods. The second floor is entirely clearance items. I left empty handed this visit but the prices on items I checked out seemed fair. I really loved a lilac chair set but lack the room and it doesn't match my furniture. The artwork titled Blue Balls gave me a chuckle. Inventory is always turning over so even though I didn't find a treasure this time I plan on checking back soon.

The store is well laid out and too cluttered (like many of the similar store around town), so you can actually see the inventory.

They have a little bit of everything -- vintage items mixed into collectibles and actual antiques. A bit of furniture, some clothes; a nice selection of jewelry; a few books and magazines; but a lot of China, bric a brac, and household items. Like everywhere else, it pays to know what the market values are. And I always like checking the current prices being charged for things I grew up with. I did wind up buying a lovely bracelet here. And got a very good price on it. It's the kind of place you need to walk through several times. There's a lot of items and you won't see everything the first time around.

I had a lovely chat with the owner who let me know all prices are negotiable. I enjoyed exploring their selection of new, vintage, and antique furniture, small appliances, household items, books, clothes, art, and accessories. You need to take your time to really take everything in. There is a number of great cabinets for sale along with vintage cookware. There aren't too many stores like this in this area so The Flip Side is a welcome addition. The Flip Side has another store in Lauderhill on University Drive. I always love supporting a small businesses and especially thrift stores. Help the planet by reducing, recycling, and reusing by thrifting!

This is the description of the store from their website "The past is prologue. Our shop is a cabinet of curiosities that we've filled with exquisitely crafted, hand selected pieces from our travels all over the world. We love our antiques with a touch of "chic" for that unmistakable spark of personality that livens up any room." The store is filled with amazing one of a kind vintage, antique, and carefully curated pieces to add that special touch to your home. Prices range from the inexpensive end for new candles and coffee mugs to thousands of dollars. They have a selection of antique gas pumps that took me down memory lane. My father in law collected them too and there is still many left in his garage from when he passed away. The showroom is set up in little rooms so you can get an idea of how to put things together in your own home. The sells signs, furniture, old equipment, antique vending machines, jukeboxes, rugs, mirrors, scales, and so much more. From knick- knacks to large scale pieces you are going to want to look at it all. When I finally move into that mansion, the Vespa's repurposed into bars is top on my list. A Yelp check in will net you 10 percent off! It was so much fun to explore this store and take a blast to the past.
