Rolling Tire Shop - Brian and Ben working in 2005

    Rolling Tire Shop

    (5 reviews)

I used to work for Rolling Tire under Ben and Brian, and they do not run this business well and…read morethey rip people off on purpose all the time. While I was working for them they would force me to let many safety concerns I found on inspections slide because they knew the person who owned the car, but on other cars they would pick it apart with a fine toothed comb to find any possible thing they can make money on. They are very two faced people and do everything in their power to charge you as much as possible for anything. The two real techs in the garage, Kenny and Scott, are the only two who know what they are doing and actually care about doing the best job they can on every job. Ben doesn't know a thing about cars, all he does is tall a good game to customers and order parts and uncharged you 70% or more for the parts. Brian is someone who only cares about himself and will throw anyone under the bus and get rid of you in order to save face and make himself look good to others. Neither care about any of their employees and on multiple occasions I overheard them talking bad about those who worked for them, including myself. I used to love this shop when their father Todd ran the business, but these two are going to run it into the ground and that is really sad to see because this shop used to be something really great. I hope Todd takes back over or something changes very soon because I don't want to see this place falling further than it has already.

My daughter was new to the area and took her car to Rolling Tire for a leaking LR brake caliper. I…read moretold Ben the part was under a lifetime warranty, and he said if I get the part and bring it in, they would install it. I live 3 hrs. away. Ben then graciously agreed to get the part from his supplier, and if I got a new part from the warranty, and brought it back to him, he would return it, get his refund, and then refund us. We did, and Ben sent a check for $40... not the $174 he charged my daughter for the part! My daughter insisted on the full amount and Ben paid it. Getting ahead of myself... back to the repair... Ben said that after the caliper was installed, they could not get fluid to it. Mechanic thought the ABS unit was bad. ABS was working when they diagnosed it, otherwise it would not have been leaking fluid. Due to the cost of a new ABS unit, my daughter decided to get a new car. I had old car towed 150 miles to my garage where I worked on it as I found time. I installed a used ABS, and got fluid to the caliper. However, when I came to bleed the brakes, I found that the bleeder threads in the caliper were stripped! I had to replace the caliper that they installed and finally got everything working. I contacted Ben and ask that the labor charges for the work be refunded since they had ruined the new caliper. He said that there was no way his mechanic stripped the threads and wouldn't take my word that it was damaged. So, I sent a copy of the receipt for the new caliper. Then he said that sometimes parts come defective. If that was the case, his mechanic installed a defective part. Either way, the work they did was useless and had to be redone. First off, Ben tried to rip off my daughter $134 for the caliper return he had agreed to, and then refused to stand behind his work. In Ben's 2nd email to me: "..we are not reimbursing you. After this email I will not be replying to anymore of your emails or phone calls.." I guess if you don't like what you hear, you refuse to talk about it.
