Bun Maska and Irani Chai - nostalgic and dreamy !!
    Chetan S.

Limited items as this was just their second day but each item took us back to India, to the streets of Hyderabad and the Irani cuisine served in those quaint shops! Service was well, chaotic, but the anticipation of the wonderful dishes served, made it fun. Mujaib and the other servers were polite respectful and eager to please, a true mark of business that will do well in all times. The Bun Maska and Irani Chai took me back half a century and reminded me of the Restaurant "Koolar and company" in Mumbai. Oh those were the days! The ambience was loud with qawwali streaming over their TV, but once the food arrived all was forgotten and food was the star!! Of course we are coming back !

This place is a new outlet. The ambiance is pretty and inviting. The tea and bun maska here were amazing when I visited the first time. However by the second visit I observed the bun masks lacked freshness and tea wasn't so great as well. They did not maintain consistency.

I've been to the Fremont location a few times and never quite got the hype - especially around their chai. But hey, taste is super personal, so I get why others might love it. Now that they've opened in Tracy, I've given it another shot-twice so far. The first time, we picked up their irani chai, and the second time we tried the Rumali Chicken 65 to-go. It was a Saturday evening and we tried calling in the order ahead to save time, but no one picked up, so we ended up ordering in person. Thankfully, the wait was only about 5-10 minutes, which wasn't too bad. As for the food....honestly, it was just okay. Nothing stood out as amazing, but it wasn't bad either. I didn't love it, didn't hate it- it just didn't leave much of an impression.

    Cold bun tikki!

Wanted to try this place , but not worth the hype. The bathroom was dirty! The chai we ordered was premade and extremely sweet! The fact that it was served in paper cups, was a big "no"! We ordered Iranian chai and saffron! The saffron chai was nothing but a few strands of saffron added to the Iranian chai! The tikki bun we Ordered came with one Onion ring, was cold and had nothing much to offer! We had to tell them to heat it up , then they sent it back with some chutneys! Don't think the place is worth the hype! The decor is pleasant, but food, service and hygiene not that great.

Deccan has opened up in Tracy! I have been such a big fan of its Fremont location, glad they opened one up here. We came on opening day, so line has been out the door the whole time we were there. This location is much more spacious than the Fremont location. Same eats, same ambience. Their chai is amazing. Both Iranian and zafrani is awesome. Their onion samosa, shawarma and chicken 65 is the best in my opinion. Prices are reasonable as well. A BIG PLUS that it is open until 1am. Finally a late night place here. Great place to study during the day on the weekdays, since there isn't a big crowd during that time, but during evenings and weekends expect it to be crowded.

Do not waste money on the Irani chai and masala fries. The fries have a sour aftertaste like there's lemon juice on them. The chai looks like it was made with spoiled milk because of the floating white particles. It had weird hard chunks in sips too. Nice decor though.

    Tons of flavor.

Best Chicken Shawarma I've ever had. The flavors are top notch. Great service from friendly staff. Super nice inside too. This is Tracy's newest hidden gem for sure.

We are Fremont Deccan Morsels's Chai lovers, however we visited a friend in Tracy and were reintroduced to the Tracy place. No doubt about zafrani chai taking me back to Hyderabad days. This location is very pretty and has all the good list on the menu. This place is addictive.

We were curious to try this spot since it replaced the Chinese restaurant, and we're so glad we did! Our server, Harpreet, was fantastic. She was very attentive and proactive, warning us that the chicken biryani has a kick. Since my wife prefers mild food and I like moderate heat, her guidance was much appreciated. We ordered the chicken biryani, garlic naan, and butter chicken-everything was delicious. The ambiance is clean, beautiful, and feels quite upscale. We can't wait to return and try more of the menu!

Today, I go to pick my order up after 30 minites like the text told me and was told there was no order. I checked the Novatab (site they use) and the order is gone but my card had been charged. I tell the woman at the counter and she says, "maybe you placed it with Mountain House." I kept showing her my account where it says Himalayan Kitchen Tracy. She laughed then tells me, "oh it says minus here." I said, "yes, meaning you guys took the money from my account. The minus means it is taken from my account." Thankfully I was also sent a text message because the Novatab doesn't send you an email. I kept telling her I was charged and the order says it was placed but of course she kept calling me a liar saying that the order was from November. So I leave and call to speak to a manager because she said she had to wait for the manager to come at 5 pm. The "manager" then says they don't see the order but they see one from November and I keep telling him I showed the girl where the order was placed today and charged today. He then says don't worry he will get me my money back and I asked how if you guys keep saying you don't see the order. He then says he is going to talk to his electronics team. I told him when it fully goes through I'll dispute the charge and just not come back to them again. Very disappointing when I've been coming here for a while now. To be called a liar and my money be taken. I am posting the proof as well. Update: 01/09/2026 charge fully posted even though they swear the order never came through.

Manna Biryanizz came up and we were in the mood for some biryani and dosa :) We ordered a Chicken 65 biryani and a Mysore Masala Dosa to share. It was so good! I love chicken 65 and biryani separately but it's pretty awesome to have them together. Also, their spice level is no joke and it's perfect for us. The dosa was also super crispy, delicious, and was delicious. I was able to go in and order pretty easily. There's some indoor and outdoor seating; we sat outside since we were traveling with our dog. A lot of the food is bussed on your own but the folks were very kind about handing my food to me outside so we can enjoy. Also, def get some of their chai! There's little cups where you can try some but you can also buy to-go containers if you need some more. Looking forward to coming back when we're in the area!

We were a bit skeptical at first, but finally decided to try it--and we're glad we did. This is one of those understated places that doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food easily competes with more well-known restaurants. We ordered a variety of items: vada pav, fish pakora, mixed veg pakora platter, Mysore masala dosa, and chole bhature. The standout for us was the veg pakora--it was fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. The fish pakora was also enjoyable. The chole bhature was solid and satisfying. The Mysore masala dosa was decent, though not exceptional. The vada pav tasted good, but it's worth noting that it's not very authentic in preparation or style, so expectations should be adjusted accordingly. Overall, this place is definitely worth a try, especially if you're exploring options in the area. We'll be coming back, and next time we're planning to try their biryani, which their restaurant named after! :)

If it didn't that would have been another story. I have a love hate relationship with this restaurant because they make excellent food but struggle with service quality. That being said it's been more than 6 months since Ive ordered here from a previous experience that infuriated me. I used to go every other week. The owner reached out to make amends, but I ignored them and came back on my own after a very long break. History aside these are the facts from my experience today. Butter Chicken - Very well made, there was alot more chicken than normal in the container, flavor was as expected, texture was creamy with my preferred spice level Veggie Samosa - Very well made,as expected, well seasoned, well textured. Fried properly. Missing the mint sauce but thats forgiven. Tamarind is my favorite anyway. Garlic/Green Onion Naan - Honestly my first time trying it, happy to try it for less than the price of what it is on the menu. Very good, was still hot and fresh when I received it. Very good flavor that complimented the rest of the meal very well, thankfully. I would really like to see this business focus on order accuracy and attention to detail, quality of food is amazing when you get what you actually ask for.
