    Bun Maska

One of our friend told us about this new place so we were very excited to try it out... being from Bombay & Pune we both love our Bun Maska & Irani Chai very much ... it's been ages since we had it so for nostalgia we went to try it out. We were greeted very graciously by the host Mujib who helped us to decide from the menu ... all the items were not available from the limited menu they have right now around 11.10 am when we reached ...the rest of the items were getting prepared . We ordered- BUN MASKA - A popular snack consisting of a soft, buttery bun served with a generous spread of butter, often enjoyed with chai. BUN SHAMI - A popular snack made of a spiced, tender shami kebab served in a soft bun, often accompanied by chutneys and vegetables. IRANI CHAI - An easy and flavored hot beverage recipe made with tea powder and a uniquely cooked blend of spices. All the items were delicious but we both fell in love with the Bun Shami . Meat was so flavorful & delicious almost disappeared (melt in the mouth) reminded us of galouti kebab we had ages ago back in India ( Bombay) we relished every single bite. By the time we finished we heard most of the other items are getting ready for order ... We ordered a Togo to enjoy later at home - RUMALI PANEER 65 roll - Spicy paneer pieces are wrapped in a soft rumali roti, offering a flavorful and savory combination came along with fries. Tala Hua Ghost - mutton fry came with rumali roti. Amazing customer service by the staff, didn't had to wait too long . Since it's new it became very crowded by the time we left. Restaurant is decorated very nicely has good seating chairs very comfortable to sit for a long time. They are offering 20% off for the opening weekend so please go & check it out. Ample public parking space. They are opened till late at night so perfect for late night cravings for weekend.

Bun Maska and Irani Chai - nostalgic and dreamy !!

Limited items as this was just their second day but each item took us back to India, to the streets of Hyderabad and the Irani cuisine served in those quaint shops! Service was well, chaotic, but the anticipation of the wonderful dishes served, made it fun. Mujaib and the other servers were polite respectful and eager to please, a true mark of business that will do well in all times. The Bun Maska and Irani Chai took me back half a century and reminded me of the Restaurant "Koolar and company" in Mumbai. Oh those were the days! The ambience was loud with qawwali streaming over their TV, but once the food arrived all was forgotten and food was the star!! Of course we are coming back !

This place is a new outlet. The ambiance is pretty and inviting. The tea and bun maska here were amazing when I visited the first time. However by the second visit I observed the bun masks lacked freshness and tea wasn't so great as well. They did not maintain consistency.

I've been to the Fremont location a few times and never quite got the hype - especially around their chai. But hey, taste is super personal, so I get why others might love it. Now that they've opened in Tracy, I've given it another shot-twice so far. The first time, we picked up their irani chai, and the second time we tried the Rumali Chicken 65 to-go. It was a Saturday evening and we tried calling in the order ahead to save time, but no one picked up, so we ended up ordering in person. Thankfully, the wait was only about 5-10 minutes, which wasn't too bad. As for the food....honestly, it was just okay. Nothing stood out as amazing, but it wasn't bad either. I didn't love it, didn't hate it- it just didn't leave much of an impression.

    Cold bun tikki!

Wanted to try this place , but not worth the hype. The bathroom was dirty! The chai we ordered was premade and extremely sweet! The fact that it was served in paper cups, was a big "no"! We ordered Iranian chai and saffron! The saffron chai was nothing but a few strands of saffron added to the Iranian chai! The tikki bun we Ordered came with one Onion ring, was cold and had nothing much to offer! We had to tell them to heat it up , then they sent it back with some chutneys! Don't think the place is worth the hype! The decor is pleasant, but food, service and hygiene not that great.

Deccan has opened up in Tracy! I have been such a big fan of its Fremont location, glad they opened one up here. We came on opening day, so line has been out the door the whole time we were there. This location is much more spacious than the Fremont location. Same eats, same ambience. Their chai is amazing. Both Iranian and zafrani is awesome. Their onion samosa, shawarma and chicken 65 is the best in my opinion. Prices are reasonable as well. A BIG PLUS that it is open until 1am. Finally a late night place here. Great place to study during the day on the weekdays, since there isn't a big crowd during that time, but during evenings and weekends expect it to be crowded.

Do not waste money on the Irani chai and masala fries. The fries have a sour aftertaste like there's lemon juice on them. The chai looks like it was made with spoiled milk because of the floating white particles. It had weird hard chunks in sips too. Nice decor though.

    Tons of flavor.

Best Chicken Shawarma I've ever had. The flavors are top notch. Great service from friendly staff. Super nice inside too. This is Tracy's newest hidden gem for sure.

We are Fremont Deccan Morsels's Chai lovers, however we visited a friend in Tracy and were reintroduced to the Tracy place. No doubt about zafrani chai taking me back to Hyderabad days. This location is very pretty and has all the good list on the menu. This place is addictive.

NARRATIVE: I arrived just after 7:00 am of a Wednesday and found the place open and to myself. After checking out their extensive wall menu, I ordered a plain Bagel with Lox, an Asai bowl and a Sea Salt Caramel iced coffee to go. Like I mentioned above, they have an extensive menu which really impressed me. I was also impressed by their super large espresso machine. My order took about ten minutes to prepare and I headed off with my bag and drink towards home. At the house and before tearing into my food, my camera ate first. My Bagel with Lox was dynamite. Super thick cut of fresh salmon with cream cheese, capers, onion and cucumbers gave the sandwich a nice crunch. My Sea Salt Caramel coffee was great and their Asai bowls are impressive. SCENE: Located at the corner of W. 11th Street and East Street, Isabel's Cafe now occupies the old Sandwich Spot location. RECOMMENDATION(S): Awesome food! Highly recommended. The only negative I had was, unlike Sandwich Spot where you could watch your sandwich being made, Isabel's doesn't have that option. Everything is prepared in the back, away from the customers.
