I came here several months ago and may have just had a bad experience maybe someone was having a bad day. after I posted my review, The manager immediately reached out to me, wanting to know the specifics and wanted to make things right. It's so refreshing to have customer service again and to actually have a manager reach out to see how they can improve. I love this. I came back and got another Dubai chocolate strawberry cup and a gyro pita. The service was MUCH better this time !!! The gyro was delicious and fresh and definitely filling. Let me start with something positive , this place has an inviting ambiance and decent number of tables if you want to enjoy your ordered food there. We ordered through app , so it was hassle free. Honestly on plate, they looked delicious , but when you have your first bite , it was just meh. All elements are there but flavor was missing. went for a weekday lunch, wasn't too busy but did have some traffic. a small eatery with a few tables inside, we ordered off their self kiosks. food took a little bit of time but that was ok we weren't in a rush. we dined in--the tables were very dirty but we wiped them off. when our food did come portion wise they seemed a little uneven amongst us. We got the Shawarma Fries, steak shawarma roll, and chicken shawarma wrap. The fries were packed with flavor, and both the steak wrap and chicken shawarma wrap were delicious and filling. We keep wanting to get more because of how delicious everything was. The portions were pretty big. We ended up sharing everything between three people and still had plenty of food. While the food is still tasty, the service here really needs improvement. The vibe when I walked in was definitely not welcoming. They've added kiosks for ordering, and since there was no line and it wasn't busy, I figured that was the way to go--so I placed my order there. I sat down to wait, but then noticed a couple walk in after me and order directly at the register. It seemed like it was their first time because they were asking a ton of questions... meanwhile, I was still waiting, and the staff member who could've been making my food was busy helping them at the register. That's when I noticed my receipt had a convenience FEE just for using the kiosk. What in the world? Shouldn't it be the other way around? I'm saving them time by ordering myself, yet I'm the one getting charged? and it's not much, but it leaves a bad taste as there was no signage anywhere to indicate this like when there's a card fee posted. Had I known, I absolutely would've just gone to the register. They weren't busy anyways. When my food was finally ready, they called my name. I walked up and the guy didn't say a word--just pushed the bag toward me and walked away. Not even a hello or thank you. Eating out I think is a luxury, especially these days, and prices aren't getting any cheaper. The least I expect is basic courtesy. I got my food and left. There is a self ordering kiosk that I felt lost the customer and owner relationship but if you're in a hurry and there is a long line during peak hours, this is the way to go. We read the glowing reviews of Yafa Hummus and decided to stop in. The place was fairly empty when we arrived. They were quick to take our order - and they were helpful and attentive in the process. We ordered a gyro bowl - with a side of hummus and kale slaw - as well as a side of hot sauce and tzatziki sauce. We also ordered some sides of gyro meat to take home with us. Their gyro sides were generous and they made sure to cook it up fresh for us. They personally walked it over to us - in convenient to-go containers. As we ate - we saw a number of people come in and order through their ordering kiosks. We also saw the staff working on a number of pick-up/delivery orders. It's evident that this place has a loyal following and a plethora of regular customers. I didn't personally try the hummus - but my husband was a fan. I enjoyed the gyro meat that I tried. I found myself in Tracy car buying on a Friday night (random, I know....) It was 8:30 by the time I was done and hadn't eaten dinner. Yafa was open until 9 so I figured it's hard to go wrong with Mediterranean and they proved that to be true! Around 8:45, the place was buzzing with people coming in for take out orders. You order at the kiosk (easy) and they call your number. The restaurant was clean and bright. The food itself-amazing! I had a falafel bowl. You can choose two different bases and they give you lots of options from Greek salad to rice and more. I got the brown rice and tabouli. The bowl also comes with two sauces (again you can pick.) I tried the tzatziki and tahini. Both were really good. The bowl is huge and the combo of flavors complimented each other well. The staff was very kind and told us no problem to dine in, even though they were cleaning up to close (they said they were going to be there a while.) They were so nice about it and we tried not to overstay our welcome and tried to finish our meals a little bit after 9. I stopped by the shop in person to place the order, and from the very beginning the experience was great. The person helping me was incredibly patient, walked me through the catering options, and helped me land on the right quantities without pushing me to order more than I needed, which I really appreciated. Pickup day was just as smooth. I arrived right at 5:00 PM and everything was ready to go. The food was packed neatly and thoughtfully, and it was clear they take pride in what they send out the door. The food itself was fresh and delicious across the board. We ordered both the classic and spicy hummus (so creamy), pita, and dolma, but the falafel completely disappeared within minutes. Guests kept asking where it was from. It's not easy to keep quality consistent with larger orders, but they absolutely pulled it off. Overall, the whole process was easy and stress-free. They've got great gyro meat, which you can make into a bowl with rice, veggies, etc, a salad with the gyro meat, or traditional with pita bread. They've got really good chicken shawarma as well. They've got plenty of these chewy treats/sweets too. They come in all kinds of flavors including strawberry, kiwi, pistachio, chocolate, pomegranate, and more. We love this place and will keep coming back. Lentil soup is yummy on a cold day. I tried a new item today called the falafel deluxe and it was delicious. Today was a little off on their service. It took almost 30 minutes to get the food. I watched the girl dish up the soup and then it sat for at least 10 min and was cool so we had to have it heated. The staff is usually so warm and friendly.
