Larchmont Meateria is one of many hidden treasures troves located in Larchmont nestled in a huge shopping center the size of a New York City block. I've started shopping here in 2002 so I've had a pretty good feel of the foods they serve and what kind of service is provide f here. Very high quality food and a very high standards of customer service. People come dressed as they are , casual, work attire, or street attire. I am not saying that there aren't but I have not seen a brown person come in here. If they do it's not often. I normally buy the white fish sandwich, it spreads like a tuna fish sandwich. They also serve delicious hot foods, gourmet foods and various salads. Off and on as any business expects, workers come and go. I've always had pleasant interactions with the employees and satisfactory service up until 4/4/2026. Twenty Four years of exemplary service, says a lot about any organization that has high standards. I go in to get food from the deli section. A lady with a Spanish background says " how may I help you. I told her that I wanted a half pound of gigante Beans and a half pound of shrimp. She scoops up the gigante beans with no problem, now she goes for everything that I didn't ask for. I saw her scooping up three bean salad. Whoa whoa, I want shrimp she says you don't want this? I repeated , I want shrimps! She scoops up shrimp salad, me again! No, I want shrimp. She puts the shrimp salad back and starts fussing and making a scene talking in Spanish and the co worker is practically glued to her side. That's how close they were. I guess she didn't know what s h r I m p was. But I guess he helped her, I didn't understand She finally gives me shrimp but it's pouring over the container and she has to squish it down with the lid. I have to say, I'm not trying to offend anyone here, it's just what happened. Talking about no analytical skills or the ability to comprehend what I'm telling you. It's like going to McDonald's and asking for a sausage biscuit and they ask you do you want sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Nonsense! So she rings it up on the scale and tags it as smoked salmon and charges half of $29.99. I returned to the store, looked for the price, and asked the cashier what did the deli clerk sell me. He asked, who help me, and I said well since you asked. I felt like a snitcher, I let all of the beans out the bag, sir she did this, that, and ain't it is. (Southern vernacular). The cashier refunded $1.50 and apologized profusely. In all the years I've been buying here, I have never dealt with any employee that felt so complacent with repeatedly getting an order wrong and have the audacity to complain, for the lack of her ability to understand. I will say, I'll go back again and again because the food is really good and they have vegan options, I just won't go to her and if she's the only one I see, I'll ask for someone else to help me or I'll skip it for that day! But it won't phase me, I'll still... Inspire more, Yelp more! read more

Shame on this place . Idk how they have good reviews . I spent $32 on a sandwich on a roll, chips and a seltzer . The sandwich had one small thin sad piece of chicken that was either old or microwaved or both. Went straight in the trash. Disgusting Don't waste your money read more

I went in and was the only person in store. They charged me $10 plus tax for a bacon egg and cheese. That explained why I was the only person in the store. Should add guy who made sandwich put 7.98 on label but owner at cash register said he charged you to little and added $2. Afterwards I waa still hungry and went around corner to crowded Manor Park and got a larger version of same sandwich for 7. Lesson learned. read more

I bought a big Beef Tenderloin to add to my Easter Menu. They gave me simple cooking recommendations which were on point! They also seasoned the meat for me and I cooked it right in the pan they seasoned it in. What a gorgeous tasty roast it was!!! A friend recommended this business for a Christmas meal. The staff spent a good deal of time discussing the various options. The beef tenderloin with horseradish was delicious. Supposed to be a meateria??? I got a ribeye steak here and it was not fresh and smelled old. I turned it around and saw the meat started discoloring. I was really disgusted, and unfortunately didn't have the time to go back and return it. Ugh. Everything is also way overpriced. read more

Aka "The Marketplace" Absolutely fantastic find in Larchmont! First, they were super friendly and let me taste the patés before I chose what I wanted to buy. I got the Paté de Campagne and a mousse paté. Both were excellent! I also tasted their whitefish salad which was extraordinary. They also had an excellent selection of oils, vinegars, fresh vegetables and fresh baked goods. Note, their paté was $15/lb which was the best price I found in the area. They had some beautiful pieces of fish and meats are reasonable prices. High recommend shopping here! read more

I love the Meateria! The new owners are a family and have gracefully taken over a vibrant business which Victor worked so hard to create over the years. I go to the Meateria for all of my needs from prepared foods, to fresh ground sirloin burgers, to shrimp, fish, and specialty meats which Dominic perfectly prepares for me. My boys love accompanying me as they are always offered a cookie by Flora! I recently used their caterer Amanda for my Christmas Eve dinner (beef Wellington) and it was excellent. I've also used them to make a tray of lasagna for me, and the results were delicious ...perfect to bring to a ski house as a guest if you are invited, and just as yummy to enjoy at home with friends. Long live the small family market! Flora and company are wonderful hosts at this specialty grocery store and butcher. This is the kind of place you look for when you move to new town. LM is more expensive than the superstore but their quality and attention are worth the cost. read more

Crooks. First of all, I have purchased rotten food at the store. They went in the back and brought me the "freshest" cut and it was so spoiled when we cooked it that we had to toss it. Then I bought a watermelon which was disgusting. Secondly, they never have prices on their produce. When asked why there are no prices, the excuse is always the same - "We are cleaning and the prices will come up later today." Not so! Prices never appear and the price changes every time you're at the cash, depending on who is punching in the numbers. Not going back. read more

It is hard to imagine Larchmont without Meateria. The new owners have kept the same employees (and farewell to Victor after all these years...we'll all miss him). I purchased a "Vegetable Lasanga" from this market and it had meat in it, no vegetables. The ingredients stated there was no meat. This would not be such an enormous issue, had the meal not been for a Sabbath dinner and it is not kosher to have meat and dairy in Jewish religon. This place misleads--- do not buy from them. read more

Recently visited this gourmet/meat store. Very impressed. The meats are outstanding (needed a big order for a family reunion). Really enjoyed the cooked foods to- go too. Victor is gone and so are all the deli employees he had. Ron the deli man is also gone and is sorely missed. He was friendly helpful and professional. New deli guy cannot compare. Overall, the Meateria is excellent. I've be going there for years and love most of the foods, from the delicious cookies to apricot ham, roasted potatoes, salmon pate, cheeses and just about everything else. The only exception is the pies, which tend to be soggy and overly sweet. read more
