This is the 3rd project they've done for me. The first was my deck, then a small deck snd stairs for my niece's place. Now they've added railings to my 82yo sister-in-law's house. I have to say I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. The owner responded to my inquiries promptly, they showed up for the quote on time and listened to what we wanted. The owner gave me a quote within days and then changed it when I change the needs. Their work is meticulous and the workers are great. They always communicated with me when needed. I had a change during the build and it wasn't a problem for them. We love our new deck hang out and have gotten so many compliments on the workmanship. Hired Decks by Design to build my deck around my pool and to replace deck boards by mu aunts house. First job at my aunts house he replaced her deck boards upon completion, she saw that one of the deck boards wasn't even screwed in and one of the steps he put down was screwed in but he completely missed the frame you can basically pick up the board and step with one finger. He toldmy aunt several times that he was coming back to fix it and never did...you would think with my aunt living 10 mins away from my house he could have easily taken a ride there and corrected the issue, as of todays review her work is still incomplete and he has not returning her calls. My deck he came to my house to have me sign contract and in his contract he states %50 down payment and %50 upon completion...well needless to say that wasn't the case, at one point he asked me for money because his transmission needed to be repaired on his personal car because his work van was running fine, then he came to me again asking for money to pay his guys. I have decking boards that he left with huge gaps when confronted he said thats the wood shrinking, i'm no dumbass wood doesnt shrink or expand that fast. The wood that he purchased he used regardless of the quality, i gave him a drawing of my deck needless to say even with the drawing he tried making my deck shorter but was still going to charge me the same price!!! I asked him to do a skimmer cover that goes flush with the deck only to come home to a piece that is not flush with deck and has become a tripping hazard for anybody on my deck. He also walked off my property with some of my good extension cords!! This man of his word that he so calls says he is has said several times that he would come take care of the issues but now refuses to take any of my calls, return any of my calls or return any messages!!!
