The appointment was March 18 2026 w Abby, who is an epic artist w polish application. She, unfortunately was on a long vacation when I went in a week ago concerned about the condition my nails were in as a result of the gel removal. I understand that everyone responds differently to any chemical treatment so I have no issue with Abby at all. However, my nails and clear polish applied after the paraffin started bubbling the same afternoon. I gave the benefit of the doubt thinking that it's something I can handle w an emery board and moisturizer. Nope nope nope. 3 weeks later my nails were shredding as soon as they breached the nail bed- they are weak, splitting painfully into the nail bed, keep shredding and need constant filing, clipping, etc. when I went in to ask how I could fix the issue, I was passed around to 3 people- none of whom were nail techs. They refunded $19-a random amount and not close to half of the cost. I was told by Madison in management that this is normal - and to use a product called Nail Envy. A week later, 34 days after the original appointment, my nails are still shredding and splitting. It is like acid was applied. The result is that I will not be able to get a manicure until the nails completely grow out - MONTHS from now. I know if Abby would have been present, she would have had better advice and would have repaired the nails to the best of her ability. Result - I spent $ for a manicure w paraffin so didn't cut corners, and will have hideous painful nails until they grow out. I'm upset that a nail tech wasn't available to advise, I was told I'd be called in a couple of days to see how things were and to get an informed answer, which didn't happen. I bought the Nail Envy strengthener and their cuticle oil as recommended by Grok(!). $36. I have had nothing but great experiences w Impressions until this debacle. I don't know what to do - management is inadequate for problem solving.

I went here after talking on the phone and texting with Denielle about what I wanted, including pics of my current hair color and length. I was told I'd get a "free haircut" with color. I specified I wanted bayalage over my current color, and to blend out my roots, and sent pics of what I wanted. After spending 4 hours in the chair, the color I got was a brown with warm blonde highlights and was okay, but not what I wanted. During the process Denielle made it clear that she's not comfortable doing anything outside the natural color range, and what I wanted (strawberry brunette) was apparently too outside her comfort zone. She teased my hair during the coloring, and I have fine hair, so she spent a lot of time yanking out all the tangles out afterwards, which was painful and avoidable, not to mention DAMAGING to my hair. I've been told by other colorists that teasing hair during color treatment is big no-no. She put in a LOT of blonde highlights which was the opposite of what I was looking for, including in the under layer which was just weird. I had asked for bayalage, not highlights. I've had some great stylists, and I know the difference. I've had vivids and bayalage with multiple colors and have NEVER spent that much on a single hair coloring session. The haircut took over an hour, and when I got home I noticed that one side was noticeably longer than the other, and the "face framing layers" I'd asked for were just a single choppy layer on one side of my face. I had to get the cut fixed at another salon the next day, it was that bad. The worst part, other than being so horrifically over-charged, was having to listen to Denielle trash-talk her boss (the salon owner) and complain the whole time. 4 hours of negativity. Honestly I should've complained before I left but I just wanted to get out of there after being there for 4 hours. See pics below for reference. She said, "this didn't lift very well in the back so you can come in another time and I will do a free touch up, I don't have time to fix it now". Huh? How about if I don't have time to come back? So, I left with poorly colored hair and never did have time to get back there before my next haircut. Close to $200 with tip. I went back for my next cut and color (like a fool) bit asked for a different stylist. Stylist #2 colored my hair, also a very poor job. When I pointed out the incorrectly colored part of my hair, she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about, then proceeded to cut and chop that part (until it was way too short) to try to remove that area. She said she would do a free touch up if I wanted to come back in but couldn't fix it right then (could it be because it was the end of the day on a Friday?) Again, who has time to come back in? She did not show me the back of my hair (which is very unusual). When I got home, I know why. One look in the mirror.....awful in the back!!! $170 and this time NO TIP. I will never go back. Way too expensive to come out of there having your color not correctly done and an unsatisfactory haircut. Now, I will spend $$$ somewhere else getting fixed. Well, the time has come and I'm in a fully committed relationship with Soneda Salon. Eda gave me exactly what I asked for, which was, and I quote "I'm not quite sure what I want to do...I want to go darker...but I also want to go lighter...I really don't know." Now if I would have taken on a client like this, I would have been like make up your damn mind, but she delivered better than I imagined. She gave my hair life and dimension, as well as great conversation, which was a bonus. She's not only incredibly talented but I've never laughed so hard at a Salon before and had that good of time getting my hair colored. Go here.
