Had been going to London salon for 2 years seeing Jacob. When I came back to FL in Oct. my stylist was no longer there, I was told "no problem", they had someone who was familiar with my cut and color. Couldn't have been a worse experience. The cut was choppy and did not lie flat, the color was to have been a bright white, was a yellowish light brown covered by a toner until my first shampoo. I have had great luck with Aveda Shops in the past and this one does not meet the standards. Never got a call from the owner and I call her and offered a redo by the receptionist. I moved to NC from Long Island, NY. I was so sad to leave my hairdresser, Kerri Gouch, of over 20 years. I found out she moved to Florida and would be working at Deco Salon and Spa in St. Pete Beach. Lucky for me, my sister lives on Beach Drive NE in St. Petersburg! I immediately booked a flight and finally got the haircut I have been missing from Kerri (who has spoiled me for any other hairdresser). I've lived in NC for 3 years and have not found anyone to beat Kerri. She cuts and styles your hair and you love it and wish you never had to wash it out. But then you find that you can blow it out yourself and it looks great, and continues to look great as it grows out. First of all, this place is recently under new management/ownership by a talented colorist and hairstylist named Lindsay Miller. I have only been going to the salon for a few weeks now, but so far she has colored and cut my hair, Chris Martin - another stylist - has also cut and styled my hair, and Jacquelyn - the esthetician - has helped me get rid of the dark circles under my eyes. These people are fantastic. They're so willing to give you what you want, they listen, and provide feedback. I'm a model and book their services whenever I have a gig. I went to this wonderful hair salon to get a hair cut today. Lindsey was out going, gregarious, and generous....offering me a cold beer or wine while I waited. I've been wearing the same tired haircut for a very long time and was l happy that she had a "hair vision" for what would look best on me. I told her to cut-away. The whole bridal party got our hair and makeup did here for a girlfriend's destination wedding a couple of weekends ago. It's situated on a cute little street in St. Pete's, which happened to have a street fair going on that day, so parking was atrocious. I can't speak to the parking situation on a regular day, but I'd suggest leaving some extra time to find a spot, as it's a busy area. The salon is bright and spacious, and great for people watching. The storefront has huge windows, so it's a cheery place. They had some snacks available for the wedding party, which was nice, but since we were there for such a long period of time, someone from the party also brought a tray of sandwiches and salads (which the salon was very gracious about). There were three stylists who were very efficient. Everyone finished in a timely manner, and was happy with their hairstyles. They did suggest you bring photos of styles you like. The only complaint I have with the hair, is that a couple of members of the wedding party brought clip-in extensions to be used. The owner, Jo, was the one who did both of these styles, and did not inform the customers of the extra charge to put in the extensions (which took an extra 5 minutes tops and was $20 extra per person). Whether this is a fair price is debatable, it could very well be, but the point of the matter was that it was not communicated until it was time to pay, that there was an extra charge on top of the previously communicated price. The salon had their own makeup artist on staff. The bride had her trial with her beforehand and was somewhat happy, but figured it would just be easier to hire the person from the salon. The makeup artist assured the bride that there would be enough time to finish everyone in the time she allotted. This ended up not being the case, most of the party had to leave to get ready for the wedding before the last bridesmaid was finished, and the bride's mother did not get to have her makeup done. The makeup woman did not leave enough time for all of the girls on the list, and to top it off, two of the girls (one of them being the bride) ended up removing all of their eye makeup back at the hotel and re-doing it themselves. She was reasonably priced, and used airbrush for foundation, so those were both pluses, but make sure you leave MORE TIME than you think you need since there is only ONE person doing makeup, while there are THREE doing hair. All in all it was a pleasant wedding afternoon experience, with minimal complaints. read more
