BEWARE! This is NOT the same company as the one on 555 Third Avenue Dropped off a piece of art that's been in the family for 40+ years to get glass installed on 28 December. I chose museum glass and was told it would be ready in a week, at a quoted price of $155. I return a week later. Am told "a couple of more days." I come back two days later - same thing again. This continues several times, and I'm told two weeks in they tried to install a cheaper glass and it just wasn't working, that they need more time. Finally it's ready on 19 January, more than three weeks later, and I am charged $270, almost double the quote. Having been without the work for almost a month, I grudgingly pay, just so I can have the piece back. Two months pass. The glass starts to lift. Annoyed, but assuming that they will take responsibility and fix at no cost, I drop the piece off again 26 March 2018. Again "a couple of days." I check in two days later. "Need more time, another few days." Check in again, "need more time." On 11 April, I swing by. Piece is not ready -- hasn't even been worked on. Short of the long, in a span of 19 weeks, they had my piece for six weeks, charged me near double for shoddy work. I can't recommend this place -- find others that are better. I have. read more

Whatever you do, do not trust this place. I came to them with the most sentimental pictures I had of my father who passed away. I told them how important these photos were to me. They promised to take care of them and frame them accordingly. I went back after a month and the guy said he could not find the picture but not to worry. I continued to go back for SIX MONTHS. I was met with hostility and no empathy whatsoever ever. They lost the pictures. I could not help but cry in the store and the owner shrugged his shoulders. They never found my photos which still is so painful. Please do not trust these people. read more

Extremely painful experience. I went to the business to get a simple framing for a diploma, which they said would be done on a certain date at the very latest and they would call when complete or on that date. The framing was not done on the date and they never called, so a few days later I showed up in person to find out that the framing was done despite never receiving a call. I went home to find the framing was done incorrectly. A few days later, I returned to the store to get the framing corrected. The framer was in store and provided options to get it corrected in 1-2 days as opposed to another 2 weeks. I went with the option to get the framing corrected quickly. He said he would call as soon as it was done and would check in the next day regardless. A few days later, without receiving a call, I went back to the store to find that the framing was not done. Even worse, the framer was out of town for the holidays and did not complete my piece before leaving. Two weeks later, and still no call, I returned to the store to finally get the framed piece. All in all, it took nearly 8 weeks to complete a simple framing. I did not receive a single phone call during this time with any status updates and had to call the store or go in person to find out what was going on. I mentioned my disappointment to the employees but did not receive anything other than a "sorry". read more

I brought in a trio of black and white drawings to be framed together. One of them has slight water damage, which I was told could be pressed out to remove the wrinkles. I finally chose the frame and matting I liked and was told it should take about two weeks, which was what the date on my receipt also said. After not hearing anything after the two weeks, I finally stopped by since I live around the corner. I was told it is not ready yet, and to come back in two more days. When I came back in two days, I was told again it is not ready. At this point I felt frustrated and let the person know that obviously I can live without art on my wall for another week or two, whatever you need to get it done, but please give me a date to come back when you can commit to having it finished. He then said to come in another 3 days, which was the following Friday. I went back on Friday, and was given the excuse that they did not order enough of the frame, and that is why it is not finished. Then when he showed me the art, it was in the wrong color matting and was extremely wrinkled (it had not been pressed as described earlier). He look like he just grabbed some other matting and threw it in there to try to show he had made some progress. He also said he could not press the picture, there was nothing they could do about the wrinkling. This is NOT what I was told from the beginning regarding the wrinkling, otherwise I would not want to spend so much money framing a picture that will look horrible no matter what. I really feel this place is not respectful or appreciative towards their customers. It is not okay to promise certain services and timelines, then come up with excuses over and over as to why something has not been finished. Also, if for some reason they are behind I would expect the courtesy of a phone call to update me so that I do not keep showing up wondering what is going on. Bottom line - This place is totally unprofessional and wasted an entire month with my art. The only reason I am giving more than one star is because my art was returned and money refunded upon my request. I will be going back to my old framing place where they always do timely and professional work, even though it is much farther from my apartment. read more

My first time getting anything major framed so I was a bit hesitant on the process. From my initial call to when the framing was completed, I was very happy with the process and how they handled all of my questions. Raichan specifically was amazing with going through each detail piece by piece as well as making strong recommendations on what would look the best for my image. In regards to pricing, they were very fair and they have a uniform process for specific items as opposed to just making up numbers on the fly (as I had a few other places quote me on). What I find so cool about Decor, as I continue to have new as well as old pieces framed, is the way David and Anthony always get what I am trying to achieve in terms of materials, tone, mood and color. For example: at the Sirovich Center's annual flea market a few months back I found a quirky little round ceramic tile in the shape of a face. I loved it instantly. When I brought it to the guys at Decor, yet again we had no disagreement whatever on the best way to set off the piece. They created a deep frame, using bargeboard style rough dark wood, on a background that makes the facial features 'pop'. The end result is goofy and adorable. I was very happy with the service I received from David at Decor. Not only did he turn my work around quickly (I needed it on short notice), but his honesty saved me a significant amount of money. The movers in my last move ripped a hole a couple inches from the edge of a large canvas. I initially thought it would need to be patched, but David suggested we re-stretch it for a lot less money. I went here to have my NYU Senior Thesis Exhibition images framed. Obviously, this event was extremely important to me as it was the culmination of four years in University. After visiting many frame stores none of which felt right, I accidentally stumbled upon Decor Art Gallery. Raichan was extremely friendly right off the bat and made me feel much less anxious about making the right framing choices. She knew exactly what would look best with my work and made me feel confident in my final decision. She then quoted me about $100 less than any framer I have been to previously. She also gave me a great discount considering I was framing five VERY large photographs. (47in x35in). Considering this was my thesis project, I was an anxious mess and worried about my pieces being in good hands, but throughout the entire process, Raichan was on my team. Each piece I had framed was so carefully handled and given lots of care and respect. Everything was on time (even when I had to ask for the pieces to be ready earlier than I had first said). Each piece was carefully bubble wrapped and Raichan even carried them herself to my car. My framed work looks amazing and Raichan was not a pleasure, but an absolute joy to work with.
