I was excited when I received the print and remarked on how well it was packaged for shipment. But when I unpacked the piece, the artwork was damaged. The top corner of the print had been bent/folded. I reached out to Uprise, and they had a new print framed and sent out so I could exchange it. The new framed print arrived in a timely manner....BUT it was not packed as safely, and the new print had a piece of debris/glue residue on the darkest part of the print. So, 2 months and 2 framed prints later, I'm still without a piece of art to hang. Uprise is sending me a single print in exchange for these 2 framed prints and refunded me the framing cost. I'll now find my own framer locally as I don't trust Skyframe. I feel bad for the artist who now has lost 2 prints from his 100 print run.

I was recently on the hunt to custom frame roses that my recently deceased father happend to give…read moremy mother 2 weeks prior to his unexpected passing. After checking​ another custom framing shop in the city as well as a big box store, I was thankful to have found New Yorker. The other shops told me the only way I could frame the roses was if I went with a black shadow box, which I felt was too morbid and dark. Unlike the other shops, the New Yorker team was so kind and helpful and totally got that I wanted the framing to be cheerful and celebrate the beauty and sentiment behind them. When I came back a few weeks later to pick it up, I was speechless and couldn't fight back the tears!! They far exceeded my expectations and created a work of art and for a truly fair & reasonable price!!! The price was the cherry on top as I was bracing myself for sticker shock based on the quotes from other shops and the fact that New Yorker does work for Sotheby's, Christie's etc. As a result of their amazing work, New Yorker now has a customer for life, as I plan to bring several cherished keepsakes to them for all of my custom framing needs and have referred several co-workers to them as well. So you might pay around $300 for a framing job that includes hand finishing, wooden strainer (google it) and gallery-level effects like white or black rub. Now, if you're a budding Eli Broad and love those fancy tongue & groove mitered corners you see on some $200k Picasso or Jasper Johns paintings, that's a whole other level from an even more exclusive framer, at least double or triple the price and IMO, simply not necessary for most signed prints valued under $10-15k. Once you experience a CityFrame job, you never want to go back!
