It had never been laid properly (no re-bar, one section done in the pouring rain) and was riddled with very large cracks. Adding to its demise were sections that had to be broken up and replaced years ago due to required foundation work. All in all, it was an eyesore and, with now uneven sections due to the cracks, it was becoming at times dangerous to walk on. I'd had enough of it. I did my research on replacements (pavers vs. concrete). When we decided to go with stamped concrete, I sought out three bids for the approximately 350 square foot job. We needed the existing patio to be demolished and hauled off, a new one (same size) framed and laid with rebar installed. We opted to have the new patio colorized and stamped with a flagstone pattern, then sealed. This was not merely an overlay (as some contractors do) - this was a completely new structure. Stamped Patio Solutions was not the cheapest, but I felt confident that they would do the best job. I was right. Ariel was great to work with and Manuel (his "concrete guy") did an absolutely amazing job. Meticulous in every detail from start to finish, they ensured that this would be a stable structure, less prone to future cracks and aesthetically pleasing. The entire job took about 5 days. Care was taken to reduce any impact on our house and yard. Clean up each day was thorough. Measures were taken to ensure the safety and availability to the back yard for our three dogs. Clear instructions were provided regarding care and maintenance of the now-sealed new patio. No down payment is required, since you pay in full when the job is complete. I highly recommend Stamped Patio Solutions. They made a very ugly space into an area that I'm now happy to look at every day - and they did it very, very well.

Very Disappointing Work and No Follow-Through…read more This is by far the worst contractor experience I've had. I hired him to do a full flake epoxy garage floor. The garage previously had carpet, and because the house is 50 years old, the concrete edges were chipped and damaged. He explicitly promised to repair all edges and properly prep the floor. He didn't. He started repairing a couple of spots, then got tired and quit mid-job, saying he would "fix everything with epoxy." The edges were never fixed. Even worse, there was zero proper floor preparation -- no grinding, no sanding, no buffing, no real cleaning. He didn't even have the basic tools to remove old carpet glue and had to use my blade. After doing the flakes he didn't even scrape it out to rem the excess flake and I know that for sure because there are a couple of screws on the floor covered with the final coat!!! LOL The result is a dangerous and unacceptable floor. The surface is extremely rough, and the flakes stick out so badly that they will cut your feet if you walk barefoot. This is not cosmetic -- it's a failure of basic epoxy installation. I chased him for over a month. Every time, he promised to come back and fix it. Every time, there was another excuse. He never showed. The "lifetime warranty" he advertises is a lie, because once he gets paid, he disappears. To add insult to injury, he charged me three times the normal $800 price, yet delivered work that doesn't meet even minimum professional standards. Now I have to pay another contractor to redo the entire floor. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Do not hire this person.

I had European Floors/Houston Flooring Center remove existing hardwoods from my house and install…read morebeautiful Legno Bastone floors throughout the house. This was a complex project due to the glue down installation of bamboo floors that had to be removed at the second level of the house. Portions of the first floor finished in polished concrete were also installed - all along a gentle curve.. The care and precision of installation was perfect, particularly working around a curved steel stair case that was finished in 3" floating black walnut treads. After a year of use and a long overdue review, I remain extremely impressed with the durability and beauty of these floors. The entire team was fantastic to work with, particularly Steve and his install lead Cesar. When you have a single guy on the install team that makes all of the cuts, you know they have their process down pat. We did not have a single punch item on the job. After our personal experience, we had Steve provide floors for my daughter's house in Mercer Island, Washington. Steve advised on locating a certified flooring installer and the results there were fantastic - a custom herringbone pattern and color perfectly fitting the mid-mod house.
