My friend and I stopped by during the lunch hour while we were in the area. I felt bad because we got there about 45 minutes before they were scheduled to close. We didn't realize that, and when we saw the hours, tried to tell the staff that we'd come back later, but she was so welcoming and encouraged us to stay. So we did. I usually order the same dish at Thai restaurants- Pad See Ew- but I opted to order off the lunch menu, assuming that it would be easier on the staff that way. I figure it's good for me to branch out and try different things now and then anyway. My order of Pad Gra Prow was just ok. It didn't have a lot of meat in it, and far more onions than anything else. The flavor was pretty good, but I wanted more chicken and found myself digging through the veggies looking for more. The service was fantastic, I never felt like a burden, even though I'm sure coming in late in the afternoon isn't ideal. The food came out quickly and was very reasonably priced. I'd been here before but only for dinner. My husband and I decided to stop in here for lunch since we had an appointment in the area, and I'm so glad we did! They have a really great lunch special and we both got that. I got the orange chicken, with cream cheese wontons, and the salad to start. Their orange chicken is great with a strong but balanced flavor. Their cream cheese wontons are my all time favorite. So light and crispy with the perfect mixture inside. I had never tried Thai dressing and really enjoyed it on the salad!! My husband got the red curry, with an egg roll, and the tom kha soup. I tried his soup and omg it was DELICIOUS!! Perfect tangy lime flavor. The egg roll was great, and he loved his red curry. The special also comes with white rice and, and it was cooked very well. We both got Diet Coke, and they have a great brew. The waitress was incredibly kind and on top of things. She made sure to get us refills as needed, and she was the one who pointed out the lunch special. The inside is really cute with a decent amount of tables. Also not all restaurants offer beef laab. The Thai food at Dee's is zesty and flavorful and beautifully presented if doing dine in. They have a fabulous cook!! I've had take-out from Dee Garden twice now and overall I am very impressed. The first time I had the Thai Grilled BBQ Beef. The beef was awesome and the chili sauce was delicious but I was left wanting a bit more of the sauce. The second time I had the Waterfall Beef. This is an item I've had from several different Thai restaurants and is also called Nam Tok (and sometimes spelled differently than that). Again, the beef at Dee Garden was really good. The dish overall was very enjoyable. I asked for mine extra spicy and they accommodated. It did not have as much of a delicious citrus flavor. They describe their dressing as Lemon based while most others I've tried are Lime based. There just wasn't much dressing and the Lemon wasn't as pronounced as the Lime flavor has been from other places. On our last visit my wife got the Orange Chicken. Oh man. This is not your typical Panda Express style Orange Chicken. Tasting the sauce I'd bet big money that they have a large supply of fresh oranges on hand because this was bursting with very fresh orange flavor that was unique compared to most places where I've tasted their Orange Chicken. The sauce was also a little less gelatinous then most examples I've seen. Unfortunately each time we've had take out from Dee Garden there have been some disappointing dishes alongside some really awesome dishes. The first time it was the Thai Fried Rice w/Pork that was mushy and not very flavorful. This time we tried the Satay and the chicken was quite dry and tough. The Satay Peanut Dipping Sauce was really good, but the Chicken was not. I'm not sure if this is a consistency issue, where on a different visit these items might be fantastic, or if this is what is to be expected all the time. My wife picked up the food the first time and commented about how helpful and friendly the staff was at Dee Garden. I picked up our most recent order and had the same great experience with the staff. We're very fortunate in West Jordan that we are very close to several amazing Thai restaurants. There is Thai Delight, New Thai Cafe, Mekong Cafe (in Midvale, but still very close) and Dee Garden. They are all good and even better is that they are all very unique. They each have a distinct way of preparing and presenting their Thai menu. Dee Garden is an awesome addition to the Thai Food selection in this area. read more

I was visiting friends and found this place a block away, checked it out on Yelp and decided to try it myself. They are Isan Thai (from the Northeast), so they have quite a few Isan dishes on their menu. I tried the Waterfall Salad (grilled beef with herbs and spices, including cilantro and shallots), and sticky rice. It was the best I've had outside of Thailand! It is a bit of a wait, as they have to grill the steak to perfection, but sooooo worth it. If you are unfamiliar with sticky rice & how to eat it with your food, as it is different than steamed jasmine rice, you grab a small amount and roll it into a small ball, press your thumb into it (to make a small impression), and you pick up some of the meat & herbs with it (using that indention), and pop it into your mouth. Isan dishes are known for their spiciness and they have a 1-5 spicy level, so it is more "Thai hot" than "Gringo hot", so err on the side of caution if you are unsure. I highly recommend a Thai Tea or Thai Iced Coffee to go with a spicy Thai meal, as the sweet and cream helps dial down the tongue burn, so you can continue to enjoy more and more bites of deliciously spicy goodness. I opted to get a Thai iced coffee, which is traditionally strong and sweet, but I found it not strong like usual and overly sweet for my taste. However, after dining at a Pho Restaurant in the area with sweeter than normal sauces (with the fresh spring rolls & fried spring rolls), I've chalked it up to being the preference for locals in the area, so you may find it just right. I'm looking forward to going back there with friends, so I can try more of their tasty Isan dishes, instead of just the one...and anticipate being pleased once again. read more

Got the massyman chicken medium, yellow curry chicken medium, pad see ew beef, mango sticky, and cream cheese wontons, took it home, overall pretty satisfied across the board and the place is just as good as all the surrounding Thai places all within blocks of each other. Service was on point and though we got takeout, ambiance inside was clean and we'd eat inside for sure. The only item that didn't hit home was the cream cheese wontons, they were substantially not as good as all the other places but they were still fine, I wouldn't get them again but they were fine but definitely noticeably not as good in comparison. Loved that this is the only place that gives you full sized rice instead of a tiny container like everywhere else and I liked that they put their mango sticky rice sugar water on the side so you can adjust for sweetness on your own. The massyman was ever so slightly leaning on the sweeter side for me, wasn't super noticeable and wouldn't be noticeable to most but we eat a ton of Thai so I'm nitting. Place has been in business for 2 months and only had 2 reviews. Was excited to try it out and brought my dad alone too. Service was excellent, sadly the food didn't match. Yelp isn't posting my pictures for some reason. The panang curry was too spicy and too sweet. The Tom Kha was way too sweet as well. The chicken satay was deep fried to a crisp. I ordered the yellow curry special and my wife had the massaman curry with a level 3 spicy. The food was very good and freshly prepared. It was sweet and not too spicy. Just a hint of spice at 3. The food is served family style so you can get a couple different things to share. The Massaman Curry was everyone's favorite so if you like curry, that one was amazing!
