Tried Simply Thai and overall it was good. The Pad See Ew with chicken was very good, and I loved the little baby corn they add. Portion size was maybe slightly on the smaller side, but not a big deal. The chicken curry puffs were great, and the mango sticky rice was AMAZING. Service was a bit eh -- our waitress didn't write the order down and OF COURSE messed it up, though they did fix it. Overall, solid food with room for some improvement on service. read more

Food was good! 9/10! Service... not so much. Unfortunately our waitress did not ask what spice level we wanted on the curry... and it came out pretty spicy. I would've appreciated if she had asked due to my friend having a low spice tolerance. They waitress came over 3x before we were done to ask if we needed boxes and our check. But we were not even done eating.... so this made us feel very rushed there was 3 hours before they were to close and 5 other tables occupied. I don't know why she was in such a rush. Good service. The food was pretty decent compared to the other Thai places around my area. The pad see ew had actual dark soy sauce in it. Normally when I get this from other places there's barely any soy sauce and the noodles looks white. The dish had plenty of meat and veg in there. I wish it had Chinese broccoli instead of American like the traditional pad see ew does. The pad Thai was flavorful. My mom complained that there was not enough peanuts but I thought it was fine. Next time I'll try their curry which looked like you get a healthy portion from what I've seen at the other tables. read more

Simply Thai is consistently good. We get red or yellow curry with papaya salad padThai noodles. They have great customer service. Their take out is quick. They're not open on Sundays. Highly recommend this place. I haven't had a bad experience yet. I've talked to the owner many times and she tells me she tries to keep everything healthy and uses gluten-free options. For many of us who are gluten-free. There's no difference in the taste. It's delicious. They changed ownership but they came by several times to make sure our food was everything we expected. Clean and inviting atmosphere. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Fried Calamari as an appetizer, Simply Noodle dish, and Nua Yang (Thai BBQ beef) dish for our entrees. Everything was delicious. Fried Calamari was lightly battered and crispy served along side a sweet and sour sauce. I ordered the Simply Noodle dish with Shrimp. It's a combination of Pad See Ew + Drunken Noodles. Absolutely wonderful and very flavorful. My husband enjoyed the Nua Yang, except they did not ask for steak preparation level. Not a big deal at all, but it is cooked more to the medium well/well side. All staff members were attentive and friendly. We will definitely return to this establishment. read more

My friend and I met here and it was not a great experience. We called first to let them know we would be coming in closer to 2:45pm for a meeting but no one answered. Okay I have to say that going into the restaurant I was a little skeptical of how good it was going to be. I was so happy to be wrong. We came here for dinner before seeing a show at the Hale. It is a little bit strange as you come in order and pay then you're seated. Not my favorite process as I felt a lot of pressure to decide my meal quickly but it works. I hope it's just a temporary COVID change. Onto the food. The food came out fast and hot always a plus for me but the flavors here really pushed the meal over the top. The pad Thai was fantastic and I felt like everything was perfectly cooked. If you can't do pad Thai well you shouldn't be opening a Thai restaurant and I was so happy that this place didn't disappoint! My friend got one of their curry dishes. It came with a large portion of rice and the plate. The curry had a great balance of sweet and spice. The plates are served so you can share with each other which is a huge plus for me. My only complaint was the lack of service. Once we got our food no one came by the table ever again. I'm a big fan of peanut sauce and I wanted to ask for some but it never happened since the staff was never in the dining room. It was strange especially since only 3 tables had guests. This place has unfortunately gone down hill. I haven't been here in a while and their customer service is sub par for a sit down restaurant - they have you order before even being sat. I asked why they do this and the lady at the front doesn't know why. The ambiance and furniture is definitely done cheaply. I'm debating on just how to rate my visit here. The food was quite good. I don't even really like curry but tried my friend's massaman and it wasn't too bad. I really enjoyed my pad Thai. They're struggling to figure out the functioning during Covid thing, which I get can be tough. But I couldn't even get a glass of water. Had to get a bottled water and thus, that's all the water. I like my ice water with my dinner and so it was a bit tedious to have to go easy on the water. The service was helpful - in fact too much so. We were asked two times if they could take our plates while still eating. Maybe they were really bored and wanting something to do.... This was my first time trying Thai food(I know, I'm late to the party lol) but it was so yummy! This place is so cute & spacious. You order up front at the counter & then get seated. Service was great and it was very clean so that was a total win :) Now the food! Boy oh boy was it good! Now I am a novice when it comes to Thai food, but the Pad Thai was soooo good! We got both the chicken and the beef and it was loaded! The chicken satay was amazing(I wasn't a fan of the sauce however. It was really light & a little bland so I didn't get much out of it. I ended up eating the skewers with the sweet chili sauce) it was grilled perfectly & had a good salty taste to it! The massaman was really creamy so it was good but it wasn't my favorite(personal preference I love spicy curries and this was just a bit light for me. My cousin said it was super good so it's a personal preference sort of thing). A huge plus was the chicken and potatoes were huge & there was a lot! The fried rice was yummy & I've never had bad fried rice so it was awesome! The spring roll was great but it lacked meat so that was my only complaint. We finished off with mango sticky rice and it was soooo good! The mangos were sweet and everything went together super well! All in total our food was about $116 including tax. We ordered takeout for lunch. Servings were generous and the food was delicious. The Massaman Beef was my favorite. We also had Tom Kha with vegetables, fresh spring rolls, and Pad Siew Noodles and Pad Him Ma Parn stir fry. Everything was excellent. Placing the order was easy. Amazing panang! My son also had the Tom kai soup and loved it. Great value for lunch! Only weird thing is my veggie panang was just the bell peppers that come with the meat. No other vegetables. They had a new system in place which took me Off guard at first. You order first and pay first and then they sit you. So we did and we got our food really fast and tasted fresh and super yummy. Their portions are big the pineapple in the curry is yummy. But everything was delicious. read more

Wow - this was not good Thai food. I am a thai food lover, and have never turned down yellow curry and Tom kha, but from this place, it's a no for me... We waited 30 minutes after our pick-up time, as well as the two other orders in there with me. Which resulted in half of my food hot, and half lukewarm. The curry was the mushiest gravy-like consistency, due to over cooked potatoes and carrots that were literally falling apart in the bowl. The chicken and potatoes were NOT cut, and I had to take it out to shred and dice it in order to feed my family. The Tom kha tasted like bell peppers, and absolutely nothing else. Talk about heartburn in a bowl. And the chicken satay? Literal charcoal. Those tenders were cooked straight to hell. I couldn't even choke it down. The only saving grace was the fried spring rolls - those are fool-proof. This was an entire waste of money. I will be taking my business elsewhere read more

My friend raves about Simply Thai, so I ordered takeout. I wish I had known that the entrees were family sized, there's so much food for 2 people! Got the pineapple curry, pad woon sen, and 2 sticky mango rice (again, didn't know the servings were so big). So flavorful, and I love how the amount and variety of vegetables. The curry was ever so slightly spicy, which I prefer. The mango rice was so good, and the mango was perfectly ripe. It was packaged in saran wrap, which was good since it leaked coconut cream all over the table when I opened it. There's enough leftover for tomorrow's dinner. read more

The reason why this is only getting three stars from me is because I can think of three other Thai restaurants I would rather go to. This wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't my favorite; however, my best friend occasionally comes for lunch and she said it's great! So maybe I'll give it another try another day. Let me start by saying the service was awesome, the waitress who helped us was very quick and also provided recommendations based on our wants but also "local favorites". I really like a good server who can answer questions and provide customers with "their top three favorites and why". Bravo, keep it up there. Now, the food was kind of just mediocre. My sister and I ordered Yellow Curry and Pad Thai, both with chicken. The Pad Thai was 10x better than the curry so I'd recommend getting that if you find yourself here. The chicken in the curry had an unappealing flavor, but that was when you could find enough to take a bite, as the bowl was practically full of entire potatoes. It was pretty expensive as well, two dishes with a tip drinking only water, ended up being $32 dollars. We had some leftovers, but not really worth it for us. All in all, meh. This place had been our favorite for over a decade. We probably are here 1-2 times a month for that entire time. The last couple of times have been a huge disappointment. The food quality has gone way downhill. The size of the togo portions seem to be smaller, and even with less food we ended up throwing much of it out. The curry is not as thick, not as flavorful, less protein. Just mediocre compared to what it used to be. We hoped it was a fluke but after 3 or 4 straight visits it has become a pattern. We will have to find a new go-to Thai place. read more

Shortly after most the food came out (daughters food came out 30 mins after ours as I think they forgot to put the order in), they asked us to move to a smaller table in the middle of our meal. I picked up some takeout today for a friend and myself. The person who took my order of the phone had a clear, friendly voice and helped me to know how much food to get. The pad Thai was my favorite part of the meal. I kept going back for more. The yellow curry was pretty good- my friend liked it more than I did. It was weird that I ate quite a bit of it but only got one chunk of potato and the rest of my chunks were all chicken. And the potato was literally half a potato haha. The mango sticky rice had great flavor but was kinda dry. Altogether it was a feast for 2 adults.. we could have easily shared with another person. read more

Spring rolls: bland. I've had better at a Costco sample display. Green curry - the only food I would consider ordering again. Plenty of meat, served with fresh hot rice. I asked for spicy, which wasn't much hotter than Taco Bell's medium sauce. Saw this place had four stars and was nearby so we decided to give Simply Thai a try. We were not disappointed. our service was prompt and helpful even though they were very busy. I had the red curry with shrimp. It was delicious with just the right amount of heat and great flavor. Holly had a stir fry chicken dish and it was also delicious. Two stars rather than one because the place was very clean and the service friendly. I do not know how this place is getting four and five star reviews. We eat Thai food a few times a month. We used to come here when we lived in Draper and loved it. Haven't been here in a few years but were out in Sandy and decided to try one of our favorite places from several years ago. The food was nowhere close to what it used to be and in fact was not very good at all. Something tasted off with both the chicken and the shrimp. The spring rolls were just shredded iceberg lettuce and rubbery shrimp with a baby food consistency peanut sauce. We had three dishes and everything just tasted off. read more

My thoughts about this place are pretty simple: food is great, prices are not. I ordered the Pad Him Ma Parm and thought it was delicious! I also tasted the Pineapple curry and while I'm not usually a curry fan, I thought it was also good. The sad part is I had to spend almost $20 just on one dish (after tax and tip). That's way too much in my opinion, and it wasn't even a nice fancy place--super casual. I can get just as good of food at other Thai restaurants for under $15. Also, my friend found a hair in her dish. That isn't ok with me, and because of that and the prices, I won't be returning. read more
