I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, J.R., who was incredibly welcoming, courteous, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the different coffees and walk me through their roasting process, which I really appreciated. I bought Colombian and Brazilian beans. This place was such a great find! As a remote worker I always get so bummed when coffee shops close at like 5.... Doesn't make sense to me, so to find this place closes late was soooo good!! I forgot what I got honestly lol but it was okay, I'ta because I don't go all out getting coffee drinks because I'm not much of an artificial sweetener kind of gal, but the coffee did wake me up because I came from a food coma and an hour nap in my car prior after eating at 6st deli across the way lol I want to go back and try more of their drinks and their ice cream! We were on our way to visit my MIL for Mother's Day. We accidentally missed the 71 on-ramp since they changed it recently and we don't drive to the area very often. I decided I needed to take a detour to a coffee shop since we already kinda got lost. Deep Barrel Roasters & Creamery, is located in a small and old strip mall in old town Norco. Or at least I think it is. I'm not familiar with the area. I can tell you though, that navigation had us driving through newer developments and then the old part of Norco before we finally arrived. I thought we got even more lost at first. The place was actually pretty packed inside and after having our drinks and pastries, I can totally see why. The first half of the building is the cafe where you'll be greeted with some cute and funny coffee signs. There's two large shelves full of their own coffee beans of different roasts. They have a few small tables to sit and enjoy your orders, but note it is a bit of a tight fit in there. They also have a coffee bar where some people sat in front of the baristas. Past the cafe side is the creamery. I was in a rush and didn't have a chance to take a look. What we ordered; 1) Hot Mocha Rocha with soy milk - 5/5 stars. I forgot to ask for this as half sweet, but either way, it was absolutely delicious. Rich and very flavorful. 2) Iced Mocha Rocha - 5/5 stars. Just as delicious as the hot version. 3) pistachio muffin - 3/5 stars. This muffin had a generous amount of actual pistachio baked into the muffin itself which I liked, however, the muffin had more of an artificial pistachio flavor for me. I still ate it but I wasn't in love with that one. 4) chocolate croissant - 5/5 stars. This was such a hit, we ran out right away. Everyone in our group attacked these so fast. I have to say, I am SAD that I live so far from Deep Barrel Roasters & Creamery. They have a lot of pastries, ice cream including deep fried ice cream, and beverages. I absolutely loved this place and look forward to visiting them again. Next time, I for sure will grab a dozen or more to share with the family and bring some home, and we will definitely grab some frozen treats too. Deep Barrel, is a gem. I came back for the free coffee and got the iced toasted marshmallow latte. We also got the lavender ice cream, the salted caramel truffle ice cream, the cheese rolls, and the chocolate twist from the bakery. They offered to warm up the pastries, which was nice. The place is always a sanctuary for AC, good coffee, pastries, and ice cream. There are plenty of ice cream flavors to choose from, and they let you taste-test them, too! Went here over the weekend with some girlfriends to catch up on life and have some afternoon coffee. I absolutely love their mocha roca iced coffee! It is so good, not too sweet and not too "coffee" flavor. I wish the pastries weren't so expensive, as I would love to try them because they look amazing but they break the bank for me. We all got our coffees and headed outside to sit and enjoy the outdoors and each others company. Love that they have outside seating and you can move some of the tables to make a bigger area. AMAZING!! This is quite possible the best cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life. Nice, warm, and chewy dough with a perfect balanced cinnamon filling and absolutely doused with amazing icing. My one complaint would be that there's a little bit too much icing that it's quite messy, but the cinnamon roll itself is sooooo f-ing delicious. The strawberry chocolate deep fried ice cream was pretty good. The strawberry ice cream itself was delicious and super thick and creamy. You can tell the quality is there. I'm not sure I love the fried aspect of it. It kind of just tastes like ice cream covered in stale cocoa cereal crumbs. The inside is super cool and rustic themed. I got to Deep Barrel before my friend arrived, so I looked at the menu ahead of time. I planned to get my usual drip coffee and cortado, but there was no cortado on the menu. I figured if they could make a latte, they could make a cortado. When my friend arrived and we ordered, I asked the barista who took our order if I could get a cortado. She said that was no problem at all with no hesitation. The cortado was good, but drip coffee was a little weak. My friend liked his americano and banana bread. (We had ordered an almond croissant but it had been accidentally burned and it was the last one. The barista apologized in such a sincere manner that there was no way we could be upset about that). What impressed me most at Deep Barrel was the great customer service here. I could see that the barista who took our order was really nice and friendly to everyone else too. She greeted all with a smile and was very welcoming. That kind or service is not common anymore. When I had gotten my coffee earlier, I asked that barista (a different woman from the order taker) which beans were used to make my drip coffee and espresso. She took the time to explain what they were using and what she would recommend if I were buying whole beans. I didn't feel like I was bothering her at all, even though they were a little busy. The drip coffee could be a little stronger but everything else was good. Huge props to the customer service here. My friend and I were at the shop for a few hours catching up. We never felt uncomfortable being there so long and the staff never came by to nudge us out. We had been here once before and had the same experience. A lot of people were getting their ice cream, so that may be next on our list. read more

I ordered a strawberry shortcake latte and it missed. The syrup was at the bottom and barely mixed, you could see a clear separation, so when i took a sip all i got was syrup. The coffee flavor was very faint as well, of course a latte is mostly milk but you're still suppose to get the espresso. After i entered a huge rush of people came in and the workers made remarks about going home and "best shift ever" sarcastically. I was in the area and knew about this place. I spotted the sign to make sure I was in the right area to park. Plenty of parking iba available. Around 10am, there was plenty of people already here, either outside in their patio area or inside. Inside, looks like your typical coffee roasters with the roaster at the window and the coffee lined up on the shelves. I saw they have it sectioned off with a side entrance for the creamery and the main entrance being the roasters. There are a few small tables. I was taking a look at their menu while the barista let me know if I had any questions. I guess she was sort of helpful but seemed a little annoyed. I asked her recommendation and she said the horchata and strawberry shortcake were popular. They have 3 sizes, sm, med, L. I asked if they had any sandwiches and she pointed to the pastry shelf, where they have sign for sandwiches. The barista left the counter to help another customer while I was trying to decide what to get I decided to get the strawberry shortcake latte and an English muffin sandwich. I noticed my order didn't seem right on the screen and pointed it out to the other barista who took my order. I was going to be charged $26 but my final total came out to $13. My order took a bit and more people were coming in while I was there. I noticed that a lady that ordered after me received her order first and she had 4 drinks. When I order was finally ready, I took a look at the sandwich. It seemed fine. I took a bite and realized they had forgotten to put cheese on it. I was not impressed. My drink was also okay, I tasted the strawberry but it seemed a little watered down at first. Sort of seemed they made my order in a rush and with little care. I returned to deep barrel once again. My family member ordered a double scoop in a sugar cone, while others ordered a double in a waffle cone and cup. The double scoop in the sugar cone was far smaller in comparison to the waffle cone and cup double scoop. I understand that the sugar cone is small as a base, but if staff are not able to probably prepare a double scoop and keep the sizing consistent it should only be advertised as a single scoop. It is unfair for customers to pay the same 6 dollar price for a double scoop in a sugar cone (less ice cream) in comparison to a waffle cone (more ice cream). We did bring this up to your staff member and she charged the double scoop in the sugar cone as a single which I believe is fair. I just ask for sizing to be consistent in all forms of the ice cream. Omgggggg this place is DELICIOUS! Stumbled upon it late night as we needed coffee for a long drive home. I got the fave pastry, the strawberry shortcake pastry and a build your own deep fried ice cream. I got biscotti ice cream with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal OMG!!! Soooooo delicious!
