The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. I said, plesse tell me, what kind of customer am I? He said the kind that complains about ecery little thing. I asked questions because we just spent $30,000 to have our pool resurfaced and there were no white streaks on the bottom of our pool when we hired Billy. We also asked questions once when our jacuzzi was not heating up and he spoke to my wife and I like we hadn't ever used our jacuzzi. He said the pool water was too high and cold water from the pool was keeping the jacuzzi cold. Ummmmmm, nope, we have kept our pool level the same for 15 years, and it has worked. But, no, Billy refused to even entertain our problem. I refuse to support a business that does not listen to customers. You should hire anyone but Authentic pool & spa. If you do, you will regret it, unless you are a man.
