The hotel was like I remembered. The restaurant and bar are different than my last visit. Sadly, I can't report on those because they close at 8pm. Even on Friday & Saturday nights. Wisp needs to change that for weary travelers who want a beverage after a long drive. They did do an excellent job handling our group and catering our lunch. The group dinner was given good marks by my colleagues. I want to return to play the two golf courses and ride the alpine coaster.

I couldn't tell if they were renovating or what but definitely not how I envision a "resort". I was not shocked to find that the mountain coaster was out of order. Went with the vibes I was getting. We pivoted and rode the lift to the top. It was a beautiful ride, we saw some animals and lots of interesting plants. Once at the top we hiked around a bit and watched some people do the white water rafting. It wound up being an ok time for my family and I despite the coaster being down.

I checked Trek's site and they pointed me to RT 31 Bike, Board, & Ski. I met with the owner, Craig, and he pulled the bike out, gave me instructions on the bike's systems, had me give it a couple of laps around the shop, adjusted the handlebars for me, and helped me load it into my vehicle as I do not yet have a rack for my hitch receiver. He even registered the warranty to my email address and gave me a card for a free checkup within 60 days! He didn't try to upsell me or pressure me to buy anything else, but I did walk out with a gel-pad seat cover! The shop has just about every bike related item you could want! They sell used bikes and equipment, too, if a new bike is out of your price range.

The selection is weak, but that is usually the case with noncorporate boutiques and stores. The customer service, in true Canaan style, was pretty much nonexistent. I picked up some socks, snowboard mittens and a sunglasses band. We also rented our snowboard equipment from Ski Barn because the quality and selection here were better, and the prices cheaper, than Canaan Valley Resort, where we were staying and 'boarding. I will say that on the two occasions I visited recently, at the first visit - the staff handled a large crowd with a much appreciated polite efficiency, however on our return, when the store was empty - I found it to be that cliche ski rental place experience, a bunch of staff standing around with somewhat of a snitty attitude that they had to process our returning rentals and interrupt their story (which was about 'poop' btw). So, while customer service might be hit or miss, this is pretty much your best option for skiing around Davis.
