Our group loved shooting pool, feeding the jukebox, playing pinball, and taking turns at the one-armed bandit all while enjoying a roaring fire near the full-sized, classic wooden bar. the hot tub was truly awesome and large enough for us all to enjoy and we also loved taking advantage of the huge dining room to play games or the super comfy den area to hang out and watch movies. We loved the layout of the upstairs bedrooms giving everyone privacy but also being near each with a vintage hotel vibe. I couldn't get over the wrap-around balcony shared by all the bedrooms...loved it... so many details big and small that truly make this place an original. Seeing as it was early January we couldn't truly appreciate the huge yard with its many statues and sculptures (and a vintage phone booth that works) as well as the close proximity to the water, but I hope we can stay again when it's warm to take it all in during the peak season. The host and his assistant are super attentive and very responsive. It's clear they put a lot of time and planning into trying to give everyone the best experience possible. My only regret is that we didn't bring more people with us to share this treasure! I highly recommend.

We sat on the porch with out dog and played cards, walked around the property. The have a small lake that is aerated and clean with a small sandy beach perfect for small kids. It was very relaxing. The kitchen has all of the pans and utensils you will need. We used the bbq grill and made steaks one night. We went into the Dells one day and found a dog friendly restaurant called The Grateful Shed. One of a kind place for sharing lunch and a cocktail inside or out with your dog. Highly recommend. This family owned small resort is awesome. Thank you!

Read the FAQs, don't expect to be fed a whole lot to do--that's really not the point. I look forward to returning some day to experience what it's like in a different season and explore other roads and little gems in the Driftless.

There weren't a lot of instructions on where to find the remotes to the various electronics including the fan and the wifi did not work at all. The firewood was a bit expensive at 10$ per bundle. It was a small cozy little cottage and the owners made sure it had all the things you might need for a weekend getaway. The cabins are set in the beautiful hilly area of Driftless of Wisconsin and has absolutely stunning views. Might fo back to try a different cabin.

The cabin was dirty on arrival: dust, dead bugs, trash under the bed, dirty bedding, and a strong musty odor. The outdoor space was no better -- the deck was covered in animal feces we had to clean, the yard was overgrown, the fire pit unusable, and mosquitoes made the space miserable. Inside, we found dangerously overloaded outlets and endured a nearly two-hour power outage caused by the owner's appliance. This was not the safe, comfortable, or enjoyable stay we expected at the price paid. We contacted the management company three times afterward with photos and a fair request for partial compensation. Each time, they refused to take responsibility, offering only excuses and dismissive responses. Travelers: expect a dirty, neglected property with zero support if issues arise. Owners: beware -- your property and reputation are at risk with this company. Many management firms care about guests and homes. Sadly, Sand County Service Company is not one of them. NOTE: We only took pics of the electrical for insurance purposes. We were too busy cleaning for two hours to take more. Trying to salvage a vacation!

We were so pleased that this worked out, as Tomah does not exactly have a wide variety of corporate housing or even any nice hotels! It appears to me that there are 4 houses, all located around Birch Lake. The compound is extremely private, and each house has it's own secluded area, driveway and boat dock. The lake has 3 small beaches, and I believe that there is an inflatable "splash island" and trampoline in the summer.... and there is no one else around! The town of Tomah is only a 10 minute drive away, and fort McCoy is about 20. I would recommend this for anyone working on base, and also to vacationers who want a peaceful and relaxing stay on a lake. We are in the largest of the houses, and I have only seen one of the other ones. Both of these houses have hot tubs, boats, fully equipped kitchens, and large Tvs, and I am sure the other do, too. We have 6 fully furnished bedrooms, and also a ping pong table! They all have outdoor BBQs and fire pits, and stunning views of the lake. The Landlord is super friendly, and handles everything very professionally.

The Paradise home has the best view of the lake from the 6person hot tub in the sun room! The home also has a great fireplace, living area, and extremely well stocked kitchen with all appliances. Direct TV as well! There are beaches on the lake and each house has a paddle boat and a row boat. There are also fire pits and firewood is available at the house for $4 a bundle. There is a small walking/hiking trail around the lake and the property is surrounded by quiet and beautiful farmland.
